Why does my itunes start and stop?

When I play itunes, every so often the music will stop briefly and then start again. It is getting progressively worse.

Court, same thing here....found this link and it stopped. For whatever reason, it got enabled on startup

Check your internet connection speed using speedtest.net
It's recommended that you have a 6 Mbps connection for HD from iTunes and 2.5 Mbps for SD from iTunes. Netflix will vary it's quality to suit the speed of your connection, but if it's too slow it may well stop and start.

Why does my music start and stop on my iweb website

My music was working just great. Then I updated and now my music will start up just fine then it will stop and then in a few minutes will start back up again. This is very annoying can you tell me how to fix this problem. I tried to delete and re add then republish that did not help.

Repaired itunes a couple of times & no luck. Installed fresh itunes download, installs itunes, does reading itunes library and stops. Plug in iphone 5s & ipad, does reading itunes library and stops, no luck. What's up with the program?

It usually means a slow internet connection, or inadequate hardware or both.
It is not a 10.6 problem as such as 10.6 handles video streaming quite well.
In your post this tag seems incongruous in this 10.6 category.

The thing is, the music does not cease prior to the slideshow start. Or At least it doesn't cease on my ATV.
I do have Flickr set as screensaver indeed, but having to change screensaver settings to watch a new slideshow is just plain annoying IMO.
Ane the fact that the music plays when a screensaver slideshow is active is a proof that technically the ATV could support the feature.

Why does iMovie project jerk and stop and start in preview?

I have been making iMovies with iMovieHD for years using photos with the Ken Burns effect.
Recently after a movie project gets more than a few minutes long with typical audio and transitions, I no longer can preview it without it jerking and stopping and starting.
Obviously this does not allow me to see what I am doing, how the music matches or doesn't match my photos.
I have tried emptying the iMovie trash and emptying my finder trash, no change.
I have made sure there is plenty of hard disk space on my internal drive, where iMovie and the movie file is located.
Any ideas?

a. Emptying the trash - something I alway avoid - no matter why.
b. Plenty of free space on internal (start-up) hard disk ? > 25Gb after
project is captured and edited ?
c. Deleted iMovie pref file ?
d. Known trouble maker: Lot's of audio clips. eg > 50 gives a stuttering result
Mix down audio to one audio clip.
e. What kind of original material. 12-bit audio or recording in LP-mode (90min
on a 60min tape) GIVES problems + audio sync troubles.
f. .mpg4, .avi, .wmv and other ailient file formats also is problematic.
g. movie stored on an external USB/USB2 hard disk - often troublemaker.
I use FireWire AND ONLY: Mac OS Extended formatted -

ITunes starting and stopping because of headphones

I have noticed that iTunes has a very nice and useful feature in that it will pause if the headphones are quickly yanked out, and then restart playing again when I plug my headphones back in.
However I think my headphone jack or perhaps the headphones themselves are getting a little old. Now whenever the headphone cord shifts just the tiniest bit, iTunes thinks this means I unplugged it, or just plugged it back in, and it will stop or start playing accordingly.
Is there a way to stop iTunes from reacting to this? I'd really like to just disable this function.

as your mean if i set JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES to a bigger value,then my question will be resolved?

When my mac book pro is connected to my LED cinema display, itunes start and stop playing music randomly... Even when i stop it, it start again, and again, and again...

This problem appear recently, at the same time as i've done ios6 update and everything which appear at the same time with all apple software.
i've tried to reinstall 10.7.5 with reinstallation of itunes, but always the same problem...
So, when using LED cinema Display, i keep itunes sound volume at zero, to avoid this problem.
Somebody with the same problem and a solution ???

It is better to take it back to the genius bar.
Your MBP is under warranty and let them fix it for you.
Nobody here can help you with hardware problems.

Autostart is controlled by your operating system. check the relevant system control panel or right-click the drive letter of your memory card to change these options in teh properties.

The 13" retina MBP has two fans, left and right near the hinge and about 2.5" each from the edges of the case.
My conjecture is that one of the fans may be failing. An appointment at an Apple store genius bar is the best option. The evaluation will be FREE and a fan replacement (if that is the problem) should not break the bank account.

Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes? The Ipod Touch, by itself does not allow cross-fading, therefore when the stop time is edited short, the song jusst truncates then goes to the next song. I tried the DJay ap and while it would crossfade, it would NOT read the song settings for the stop marker. So now I want to try and Ipad and see if there is an app that will READ the Itune stop settings within the song. I do NOT want an app that will allow me to DO the stop marker. I want an app that will READ the stop marker from the song as it is set in Itunes.

Itunes provides the option for setting the Start and Stop times of each music track. However, the start and stop times do not synchronize to the iPhone. I don't understand why this option is even available as it doesn't work when listening to music on the phone. I have not found another application that will support the start and stop time markets. I have searched quite a bit for this but can't find anything. I hope we can find something.
