Why does my line-in audio port quit stop working while recording?

My set-up is a bit confusing, so I'll try and be very specific.
I record into Garageband via the following set-up:
Microphone(s) run into TASCAM 4-track -> RCA-to-Stereo Cable runs out of TASCAM into MacBook Pro via the single audio port.
This generally works fine for several hours, but the last 3 times I've had a recording session, the audio signal has dropped to virtually nil without any warning. At this point, even yelling into the microphone (with the TASCAM max-ing out) will only produce 1 volume bar in the "Line-In" system preference screen. At best, it sounds like a very quiet whisper.
My microphone is working (works while recording to tape) as does my cable (RCA - to - Stereo) when used in other situations. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Am I tripping some sort of internal line-in volume...protector? (Is that even a thing?) Or do I need a new audio port?

It works pretty much how I'd like it to work, except for the fact that I have to click the mouse to update the screen. However, when I change the first event listener from "MouseEvent.CLICK" to "Event.ENTER_FRAME" the code goes haywire. Is there another event listener I should be using here?

Due to what appears to be an incomplete set of curly braces, it is hard to tell how much nesting you have there, but there should be none. Each listener and event handler function should be able to stand on its own. You should not have to put any functions inside a loop.
Having the CLICK event listener is redundant if you have a MOUSE_DOWN and a MOUSE_UP because a MOUSE_DOWN followed by a MOUSE_UP is a CLICK.
If your goal is to have the buttons all follow each other around x-wise, then what you can do is assign a MOUSE_MOVE event listener at the same time you execute the startDrag and use its event handler for adjust button positions. When you stopDrag, you also remove the MOUSE_MOVE listener.
As far as why things go haywire when you change to using an ENTER_FRAME, you should show the code when it is in that form so that whatever error is evident.

It does not mean that your Mac is connecting to the internet via your phone, and in fact can't do this unless you set it up to do so.
During the Bluetooth Setup procedure it would've asked you for Internet connection settings, which presumably you left blank.

Why does the sound to my MacBook Air stop working after it wakes up from sleeping?

When I leave my headphones in the headphone jack and then close the computer to sleep, when it wakes back up the sound will not work.
It doesn't work with the headphones in or out, it is just completely disabled. I tried muting and unmuting and and toggling the volume but the only thing that works is restarting the computer.
Obviously, the sound works after restart but it is an inconvenience due to the tone on restart which is not the greatest noise when trying to work with a sleeping baby in the house (Which is why I use headphones in the first place.)
Any help is much appreciated.

MOV files are audio and/or video content wrapped in an MOV file container. The first step in solving your problem would be to determine what codec components were used to create the source files and then determine if they are still supported by you current system configutation and/or conversion work flow.

Why does my screen turn black when I play iTunes while working on iPhoto?

Why does my screen turn black when I play ITunes while working on iPhoto? I can't click off of the screen but get a message that reads Shut down computer by pressing button in back then turn computer back on by pushing button in back. That's followed by Chinese letters (which I cannot read). I have had other problems when playing iTunes (actually, a radio station on the Internet) while working on iPhoto. Before, I got a window that would pop up and tell me I had no disk space available, that I would have to quit applications that were open. Not many were open.
It would be nice if I could solve this problem once and for all.

Why have all 3 airport express base stations stopped working, other users are on ipads and BT have checked and improved line but I still have an intermittent/no connection?

You must tell us the whole setup.. what is the main router?? How are the express connected to each other?
On ipad it works ok?? But you are on a computer?? MBP early 2011 running Lion?? That doesn't work.. even if you are right next to the main router??
Plugged in by ethernet does it work??
Have you installed a wireless diagnostic program.. ?? Actually Lion has one installed but hidden I believe.

Run unpkg on the desktop.. If your Mac refuses to run the software, because it wasn’t downloaded from the Apple store, go to security in preferences and allow other software to work.. this is limitation of trade methinks. You can set back later if you like.
Now drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. in finder, open the new directory, drill down.. applications, utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall version 6 (now 6.3 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. although I have had no problems when doing so.

The kit is firmly inserted in thhe iPad's dock ? You could also try a reset and see if it's recognised after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
I haven't had problems using the kit with SD cards from Canon cameras . What capacity is the card, and it's an SD or SDHC card - if it's an SDXC card that's formatted as ExFAT then it won't be recognised

As long as the film has been fully downloaded (or synced from your computer's iTunes) then you should be able to watch it in the iPad's Videos app without needing to be online - is that how you are trying to view it ?

Ssh Port Forwarding Stopped Working

I have used ssh port forwarding in the past, and it has come in handy.
I have recently upgraded to Mavericks, but it does appear that my ssh port forwarding stopped some time before this. The last time I know it worked was 5/14/14, and feel it has worked more recently as well.
Here's what I do, from my Mac I ssh to my work jump server (port 22, let's say its IP is 11.22.33.44), and my jump server has access to work PC (lets say IP of 10.1.2.3). My work PC has RDP running on it on the common port 3389. I have verified that I can set up a working RDP session at work from another box. Also, I know that my jump server can get to my PC at work as I can ping my work IP if I just ssh straight to my jump server. And I know that there is no firewall stopping me from the jump server as I can also open a telnet session to my work PC on port 3389, without errors.
So, here's how I have done it in the past and it has worked, but now recently stopped working in Terminal app:
ssh -f [email protected] -L 3388:10.1.2.3:3389 -Nnv
The verbose logging shows that it sets up connectivity. If I then look to see if my local port is listening I can type:
netstat -an | grep 127.0
I will note that port 3387 is in fact LISTENing and waiting for connection
I then start my RDP client app, and start a session to "localhost:3387" (I could also use "127.0.0.1:3387", and have, but it does not work either). My RDP client eventually times out. I have turned my firewall off and on, neither way works.
Does anyone know why this may have stopped working?

The verbose log shows the following is setup appropriately (with noted modifications to server names and actual IPs):

Unfortunately I don't have another device to test if RDP is working on my LAN, however, when I check out my network connections and this is what I see after setting up the ssh tunnel and prior to attempting the RDP connection (again names protected):

Then, as it is difficult to catch in the middle of TCP 3-way handshaking, here's what happens after an attempt with the RDP client while it sits and spins:

You can clearly see it's attempting to make a connection over the tunnel via my RDP client, but it's being shut down right away. I will obtain a WireShark packet capture and see exactly what's happening. Oh, and if I tried to RDP to a port other than the one I set up the port forwarding tunnel with, RDP would disconnect right away.
What I'm most interested in is why, without any known changes, other than OS updates, did this work a few months ago, and now it does not?
I have also tried other test ssh port forwarding, such as to www.apple.com forwarding 8080 on localhost to 80, and others, and none of those work either with web browsers, I assume this is something Apple has done to disable ssh port forwarding/tunneling. Perhaps someone else has bumped into this and found a fix? Please share!
Also, I have heard that you have to be root in order to set up port forwarding, but clearly this is not accurate, as it worked before, and also as you can see above it worked without root. But I tried both ways, and sadly neither worked.
Could it by my jump server? Possibly, but others at work do this and it works just fine for them from their Windoze PCs. So can't be that either.
Perhaps my capture will tell me, I'll report back here with what I discover. Thanks in advance!

I understand the HDMI port has stopped working on your Pavilion G6 notebook.
It would help to know exactly which notebook you are using and the installed operating system. If this is a new issue I would start by doing a system restore. This will undo any changes to the operating system and uninstall any Windows updates, programs, or program updates installed after the restore date. This will not delete your personal files.
If that doesn't work try updating the drivers for your graphics card (GPU). You can find the drivers for your notebook here: HP - Drivers & Downloads.

Port forward stopped working after update

i updated my software and the port forward stopped working and it will no longer allow access to my ip camera.

Yea, mine stopped working since the update to 10.8.2. It was working fine prior to the update cause I used it at work on a 50 inch Samsung. I undrstand that there was a driver update but I'm not sure why.
