Why does my Macbook Air only have 64MB of dedicated video memory
Hello, I created a windows partition on my Macbook Air and after going into my Display settings I see that it only has 64MB of dedicated video memory out of 1696MB. Please tell me how I can fix this problem as I should have much more Dedicated memory from my Macbook air.
Additional INFO: MacBook Air Early 2014 edition, and has Intel 5000.Hey thanks a lot for the quick reply Loner, however, I'm not really sure what you mean (sorry I'm a bit slow when it comes to computers). I checked out your link, and when I do the same steps as in the link by going into screen resolution> advanced> adapter: it shows Total Available Graphics Memory- 1696MB, and Dedicated Video Memory 64MB, but it only uses 64MB, it doesn't use more when it needs to.
I tried playing GTA 4 on my laptop via bootcamp, and in-game it tells me my laptop is only using 64MB of video memory and the game requires at least 260 or so, and my laptop won't use more (at least I'm pretty sure it is not using more or the game wouldn't give me that mssg).
Again, thanks for your response, and looking forward to what you have to say, or any other that want to chime in Thanks a lot as always. -
Why does my macbook pro gets stuck in the startup screen?? its the older versiom
its like stuck in the startup screen. i tried a few times and even took out the battery twice. please help!! i have some important document stored inside i cannot retrieve now!!!!
i think the operating system is like 10.7.somethingYou might have a failing hard drive. If you're running 10.7.x, try booting into your Recovery partition - holding down the Command and R keys whilst booting. Once at the installatio screen, use Disk Utility to verify and, if needed, repair your hard drive. If it can be repaired, you should be good to go - if it can't be repaired then you're going to need to go shopping for a new drive.

Why does my Macbook Air make a single buzz/beep?
Why does my Macbook Air make a single buzz/beep every time I open it or turn it on? It doesn't happen after again after the initial buzz. If I open it after it has been sleeping, it starts up and then there is a buzz. This has only happened since I downloaded iOS Maverick.
Beeps on startup:
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images.
5 beeps = processor is not usable

My Macbook air charges fine with the Thunderbolt screen connection but only sometimes with the 45 W chargers. It seems to be the combination of the chargers and the computer. I was thinking whether the Thunderbolt screen has a larger power supply which easier activates the computer to actually receive the charge. It reminds me a bit of the Nokia Lumia 800 telephone, which when totally exhausted needs a strong charger to be activated again. I am as frustrated as most others. I have got two chargers, and both of them sometimes work, other times not. Sometimes, they start working after a while. Is Apple meanwhile coming up with a solution or advice how to handle such situation?
I just got my ATD and late 2011 MBP up and running. I've not tried running without the power adapter from the ATD plugged in, but I just tried and didn't have any problems with the display not waking. You may want to take your query to the ATD forum - https://discussions.apple.com/community/peripherals/thunderbolt_display - perhaps someone there has experienced a similar issue.
Good luck,

Restore OS X.
If your Mac has v10.7, v10.8, or v10.9 installed, startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you can restore OS X using OS X Recovery
For OS X prior to v10.7, boot from your install disc while holding down the C key. -

My macbook air wont go past the apple screen with the loading circle.
My Macbook air (Early 2008 edition) Boots up fine, but it stays on the apple screen with the loading circle for a few minutes and then shuts down. I did the Command+v and it always stops at the same spot with:
disk0s2: I/0 error.
(see picture)
I have already tried pretty much all the commands while booting up possible, and to no avail.
Please help.Sorry for delay been super busy at work - have you tried to boot to your operating sytem disc - by inserting the disc - then power down the unit - then power it up again while holding down the C key until you see the gear start spinning. Once it comes up - go to utilities at the top of the screen - then disc utility - then selcet your hard drive in the left hand pane and then on the right hand pane select first aid and click verify disk in the lower right hand corner - your hard drive may be failing and this test will let you know if that is the case. If so you need to backup your hard drive - replace it and put your data back on the newly placed drive. - please let me know how the verify disc goes

its frozen on the loading screen to turn off
Hey there tblemings,
It sounds like your iPhone seems to be stuck on the Apple logo screen. I would try resetting the device with this process:
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
From: Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If resetting doesnt work, then I would try putting the phone in recovery mode with this article and restore it with iTunes:
If you can't update or restore your iOS device

Why does my MacBook Air give me a blank screen?
I recently updated my MacBook Air (11-inch, Late 2010) operating system with Mountain Lion (version 10.8.2), each time I open the lid, the screen shows up briefly for about a second or two, then it goes virtually blank except for the very faint image of the log in area. I don't believe the screen light is on, it's just the ambiant light making this visible. I can't move the cursor to go to it to sign in. The only way to clear this is to hold down the power button until it shuts off. Then reboot. The computer tells me that it was improperly shut down (duh), and asks me to send a report to Apple. This never happened before the most recent update.
Anyone know of a fix?Anyone? Anyone? Help?
