I've had my MacBook for 3 years and lately it has been acting funny. Every time I try to put a CD in, it automatically ejects it. I have tried putting in different types of CD's (movies and software), so I know nothing is wrong with the CD. I really need to get the CD slot working. Please help. And if you know, please tell me how to fix it.

If you've tried it with several different disks that you know are good, then it sounds to me like the drive has failed. The slim DVD drives in MacBooks are pretty fragile and break easily. It may be a bad motor: if it can't spin it, then it can't read it. It may also be an issue that's causing the disk to become misaligned. Either way replacing the drive isn't a job for the casual user. Look into buying an external dvd drive. It will probably be cheaper than fixing it.

Only thing i could think of it it has a mind of its own or your putting your computer to sleep. Try shutting down your mac before placing in your bag and see if that changes things.

Why does Dreamweaver upload a blank page when i "put" a .php or .html file that I just edited. It's like Dreamweaver isn't putting the complete file. So when i check my work (refresh the page), it is now blank. This happens about 50 percent of the time and can occur with any of the websites I maintain. (If I pull out my macbookpro, i can edit and upload the page, but the screen is smaller and i would rather be at my desktop). I am using CS5 on a MacPro, operating system 10.7.5.

I've never heard of that type of error before. If it were happening to me, here are a few things I would do...
Verify it's DW
     Download Filezilla (free and very nice in reality) and make sure it uploads correctly from there to rule out connection issues
Rebuild Site Cache
     From the Files window of your site, click the menu and go to Site > Recreate Site Cache
Delete DW File Cache
     If the above does nothing, I'd kill my DW Cache File: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811
Uninstall, clean, reinstall
     Uninstall the program, use the cleaner tool here: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html to kill everything (Adobe leaves behind things that are picked up again in a normal uninstall/reinstall) then reinstall it.

Apple has rolled over users since OS X 10.6.8 when this issue first appeared.
If you want a browser that actually CARES about it's users, then install Firefox, it's the only one that does.

Why does the circuit not simulate correctly when i put two circuits in the same design.

Hi,
I have two circuits that i can simulate in their own designs and they work correctly but when i put the two circuits within the same design, one circuit does not work. I don't understand why this is happening. Could someone please explain why this is happening and how to solve it please?
Below is the circuit i'm attempting to simulate. Each little circuit is what i've made previously in their own designs.
When i simulate each circuit in it's own design i get the following waveforms.
When i simulate both of the circuits together i get the following waveforms. The yellow and red signals have been attached to the right hand side of the 10nF caps. The signals have also been offset.

Why does my Macbook pro shut down when plugging in thunderbolt?

Hi!
I recently updated my macbook pro to mavericks and everything went well.
But when i connected my computer to the tv-screen using the thunderbolt port the computer suddenly shuts down!
I have not found anyone with the similair problem and dont know what to do. I tried reinstalling Mavericks but it did not work.
Does anyone have an idea of what the problem might be? I would be very greatful for any help!

Why does my MacBook Pro shut off when I close it?

When I am done using my MacBook Pro I would usually just shut the lid and the MacBook would then go into sleep mode. In other words later when I pick it up and open it the MacBook screen will light and I can begin using it immediately. However, lately when I shut the lid the MacBook will shut off completely and I will need to push the power button to turn it on again. I am curious as to what may be causing this? Any help or knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

For about a week, SOME of the time when I close my lid, my laptop will shut down. It doesn't happen all the time, maybe about 50%, but when it does I have to hold down the power button for about 5 seconds, and then let go, then hold it down again for about 15 seconds to get it to turn back on. Has anyone else had this problem? I've had this laptop for coming up on 2 years.

Most likely a Flash issue. Try uninstalling then reinstalling your current copy of the Flash plugin.

The battery life says its at 73% and climbing but whenever I unplug my power adapter the mac automatically shuts down and if I try to turn on the macbook without my power adapter plugged in, it wont turn on. How do I make it go back to where I can turn the mac on without it being plugged in? Thank you for your help!

I would try two things the first being resetting the System Management Controller:
1) If the computer is on, turn it off.
2) Disconnect the AC Adapter and remove the computer's battery.
3) Press and hold down the power button for 5 seconds and then release the button.
4) Reconnect the battery and AC Adapter.
5) Press the Power button to restart the computer.
If that doesn't work I would recalibrate the battery.
To calibrate the battery:
1) Plug in the MagSafe power adapter and fully charge the MacBook or MacBook Pro battery until the light on the MagSafe connector changes to green and the Battery icon in the menu bar indicates that the battery is fully charged.
2) Allow the battery to rest in the fully charged state for two hours or longer. You may use your computer during this time as long as the power adapter is plugged in.
3) Disconnect the power adapter with the computer on and start using it with battery power. When the battery's charge gets low, you’ll see the low battery warning dialog on the screen.
4) Continue to keep your computer turned on until it goes to sleep. Save your work and close all applications when the battery's charge gets low and before the computer goes to sleep.
5) Turn off the computer or allow it to sleep for five hours or longer.
6) Reconnect the power adapter and leave it connected until the battery is fully charged. You may use your computer during this time.

my macbook pro starts and shuts down, the sleep light blinks, the keyboard lites up, but cannot get os to remain on. when i click on the powerbutton, the scrren goes black and nothing happens. have tried most suggestions from apple and others, nothing seems to work. the macbook pro was purchased june 2011.

thanks for the reply, i had tried your suggestions prior and no help, i did find out what was causing the trouble, i unhooked my power cord and the display came on, as soon as i reconnect the display went black, i pull the megncord off, and plug it iin after about 5 seconds and it works normal, will have to check my connection or possible faulty cord....

Why does my MacBook Pro shut down when I load YouTube, Minecraft and the like without being plugged in?

This doesn't happen every time I load YouTube, but is consistent with Minecraft (I expect it is a Java or Flash problem). If I open Minecraft and start playing without being plugged in, my computer will undoubtedly shut down at some point within 30 minutes from that time. It could just be a couple minutes or up to about 30, but it will happen no matter what. You may be thinking: "he just ran his battery down", but most of these occurances have happened while the computer has more than 80 percent battery left. Also possibly worth noting, the computer shuts down, it doesn't hibernate and it doesn't have a kernel panic, it is just as if I held the power button down. Any thoughts?
