Clock always reads 7 pm but the minute matches the current minute

A lot of goofy things can happen if you have changed certain preferences, or upgraded with non-standard settings in place:
System Preferences > Languages & Texts > Formats ...
... set a plausible standard form, like US or UK or something familiar. Close the window and Save changes. Then set to your actual preferences. Close the window and Save changes again. Test.

WHY does my Macbook Pro (mid 2012) always slow to crawl when I wake it up and go online???

I wake up my Macbook Pro (sweetly tell it that I love it)
click on one of the 1-10 tabs I have open in Firefox or Safari
Click on iTunes (open already) to play some tunes
Wait
Wait while the little ball spins as my browser thinks
wait a bit more
finally the tab I click on comes to the front, but the page takes 15-60 seconds to load
I proceed feeling irritated

The next time you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

Why does my MacBook Pro not boot up with the Snow Leopard Disk?

I have erased the entire hard drive on a 2011 macbook pro that had snow leopard on it. I was corrupted. I not insert my Snow Leopard Disk and the machine will not boot. I chose target mode to erase the hard drive from my mac book pro with Mt. Lion on it.

Target mode? Is there a second computer involved? Why not insert the Snow Leopard disc in the computer on which you wish to install and hold down the C key to boot from it?
If the disc came with a different computer it will not boot another model. Retail discs also may not boot all model computers, even those that came with the same major version. For example, some MBPs came with 10.6.6 but a retail disc may only be 10.6.3.

Do you really think it's not possible to do both and set them up the way that you want them to be set up? You just don't understand how the process works.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

Why does PSE 10 Organizer jumble up photos on the same date from different locations ?

I have PSE 10 installed on a PC with Windows 7. My camera is a Nikon D90 using a Sandisk 8 gb SD card. When I take photos at different locations on the same date and download them into the Organizer , instead of keeping the photos from the different locations together by location, it jumbles them all up. It does not keep them in order by time taken from first to last for that day , it just mixes them all up in random order. Why ?

When you use Albums and Keyword Tags, you aren't moving the images around (they stay in their folders) - you just look at them differently.
What you can try is this:-
1) select one of your folders in folder view so that it displays all of those images in filename order
2) click on the instant album button (to the top right of the thumbnails)
This will generate an album with the same name as the folder
3) Now switch to Thumbnail view
4) click on the new albumb name on the right side
Now, all the images should be in date/time order - you may have adjust the options
The real power of the Keywrd Tags is the many different ways you can look at the images.
If you have a Keyword Tag structure like this:-
Places
     Scotland
            Holyrood
            Britania
Then if you assign the Holyrood and britania tags to the appropiate photos, there are various ways of viewing the photos.
Selecting just Holyrood would show only the Holyrood ones
Selecting Scotland would show both Holyrood and Britania ones.
The only limit seems to be your own imagination

Are you talking about mail messages?
Try Settings > Mail > your mail account > Advanced > Delete from server, and set it to 'never'
And if it's an IMAP account try turning on "Archive Messages".

Why does Adobe Manager download and install 2 of the same programs?

Am I suppose to get more than one icon for each app? I have a (64bit) and it appears a 32bit both install when I download with Adobe Manager.
I have a fresh install of windows 8. -- probably the issue -- an upgrade from win7. I completely uninstalled all apps, did a fresh install of my upgrade, and kept no files, or settings. It however, did keep somethings with the new window.
Looking in my program list, I have the same program listed in (program files), and in ((86program files)), there is the 64bit program.
It seriously looks like I am downloading and insalling two seperate versions.... why?
I do have another desktop computer, which is older, and running window xp, and it is a 32bit system.
The main cpu I am using is a Dell.... (maybe that's the problem) laptop, Inspiron 1545

For which application are you seeing two versions?
Photoshop installs both 32 and 64 bit versions on a 64-bit system when installing from the Adobe Application Manager using the Creative Cloud subscription.

Why does L8 not distinguish between sample instruments of the same name????

I just installed Logic 8. My problem is, that I have a good deal of other EXS24 instruments with generic names, such as "Mark II", or "Vibraphone". That shouldn't actually be a problem, but it is with Logic 8 because every time I open one of my existing projects, it replaces one of those sample instruments with one of its new (or even one of its Legacy) instruments if it bears the same name. That stinks. Can't it figure out which sample it originally was with? It is a real pain in the bum having to reopen the original sample, and than match every single parameter to the original setting, manually, one by one. This whole thing wouldn't be so bad if you could just copy the parameter settings WITHOUT including the actual selected sample. Than I could just paste the intended parameter settings back onto the intended sample (that just so happens to bear the same name as one of Logic's factory sample instruments). I didnt have this problem with Logic 7. What gives? Is there a way around this? It is getting old going through all my projects to fix this. Thanks!

Try doing it the other way around: put your legacy instruments in the main folder, after you've removed the new ones with the same names - including their samples folders.

Ok, so i dual booted (through boot camp) windows 7 64bit, but now it seems when i close the laptop shut, or sometime just waking it up from hibernation, (sometimes not all the time) the screen will come up pure white with flickering yellow splotches, im not quite sure how to describe the problem cause ive never seen anything like it before. There is no way to navigate the screen and it never return to normal, the only solution i found is to hold the power button until it shuts off then turn it back on.
Has anyone had this issue? Please help i need to know if i should send my comp to apple!

Why does our macbook pro save pictures to downloads on my wife's account, but my side does not?

In the beginning, everything worked fine. I dabbled with everything. Just getting the feel for os x. My account still works great, but my wife is having issues on her side. Such as, changing her desktop background, all of her friends pictures on facebook has downloaded to her download folder and if she deletes them, she also deletes them from her friends list. and the notifaction pop up that I get showing me that someone has sent a notification to me without being on facebook. I forgot how I did that, but my wife wants it done to hers. Any help on these issues? Please?

Why does my Macbook Pro battery not even last me 2 hours even just browsing the internet or typing a document?

So my Macbook Pro 2011 that isn't even a year and a half old only lasts me about 2 hours of battery. My brightness is set to only 4 notches most of the time and I mostly have google chrome and itunes or spotify open when I am using it. I have to charge it about 2 times a day. My old original unibody macbook lasted a longer time than this. Today, my fans were running faster than normal and my battery drained 20 percent in less than a half hour.

it was using 53.5% of you CPU. Which if used over a long period of time, a lot of battery will be used and it will drain quickly, try figuring out what this is and use it less often, or try deleting it if it is not important.

Why does my MacBook Pro battery discharge even when the charger is plugged in?

I've been having a myriad of problems with my MacBook Pro's battery. The main problem is that when in use, the battery steadily discharges often at a very quick rate even when I have the charger plugged in, the only way I can get it to recharge is to close the lid or turn the computer off, however, it has recently started to take a very long time to recharge (I left it for 12 hours and it charged from 0% to 60%). I also noticed that while off, the charger light occassionaly goes green and then back to orange every few minutes. When I manage to get the battery up to 100% charge, it usually stays at 'Charged' for around 5 or 10 minutes and then it just comes up with 'Calculating...' as it slowly discharges, it also occassionaly claims that it is recharging and that it will take around 6 to 8 hours but it only charges about 1% of the battery and switches to 'Not charging'. Also, sometimes the charger light wont come on when it is plugged in and the Mac refuses to acknowledge it is plugged in for some time.
I took it to the Apple Store a few months ago and one of the Geniuses reset the System Management controller and did a quick hardware test which seemed to fix it but the problems returned soon after, I cannot enter the hardware test screen and subsequent attempts to reset the SMC have done nothing, he also tested the charger and tried it with another charger but it did not help. Hope you guys can help me as I am completely stumped by this and its beginning to annoy me as my Mac is becoming almost unusable.
