Why does my mail program keep logging out?

While using the on board mail program we have recently started having an issue with the program logging our password out. Sometimes it happens one right after the other and other times it will go for an hour or so and ask for the password to be re-entered.
Any idea what could be causing this?
Thanks

Can you explain to me why my Mac Air keeps giving me this message? In the middle of a download and I get this when the computer goes into sleep. Once I get this message it will keep trying to log out until finally I log out and then back in again.

From the menu bar, select
 ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Security & Privacy
If there's a closed padlock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane, click it and enter your login password when prompted.
Click the Advanced button and, in the sheet that opens, uncheck the box marked
Log out after … minutes of inactivity

At least daily, my Mail program unexpectedly shuts down. It never happens while I am actively using the program so I have not lost any data; however, it is abnormal and is starting to make me feel a little concerned.

• What is application memory and why does my macbook pro keep running out of it?

what is application memory and why does my macbook pro keep running out of it?

There is excessive swapping of data between physical memory (that is, the memory chips on the logic board) and virtual memory (one or more files on the startup volume.) That activity is relatively slow and causes the whole system to be less responsive. It can happen for two reasons:
A long-running process with a memory leak (a kind of bug)
Not enough memory for your usage pattern
Please note that if the cause is a memory leak, installing more memory will not help. That's likely if you already have more than 4 GB of memory. Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.
These instructions are for OS X 10.9 and later. Some details may be slightly different for earlier versions of OS X.
When you notice the swap activity, open the Activity Monitor application and select All Processes from the View menu, if it's not already selected. Select the Memory tab. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more real memory over time without ever releasing it. Here is an example of how it's done.
The processes named "Safari Web Content" render web pages for Safari. They use a lot of memory and may leak if certain Safari extensions or third-party web plugins are installed. Consider them prime suspects.
Another process often implicated in memory leaks is "inkjet4" or "inkjet8," which is a component of the HP printing software. If it's present, force-quit the process in Activity Monitor to solve the problem temporarily. Empty the print queues in the Printers & Scanners preference pane (which has a slightly different name in each recent version of OS X.) If you don't use an HP printer, reset the printing system. Otherwise, if the problem is recurrent, update the software (which may not help) or contact HP support.
"Wired" memory should be a small part of the total. That memory is not swapped, but it makes less physical memory available which may then result in swapping. If you have a lot of wired memory, that's usually an indication of a memory leak in a third-party program that modifies the operating system at a low level. Ask for guidance in that case.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details.

• Why does my airport express keep cutting out?

Why does my airport express keep cutting out?

I have a 1st gen Airport Express and use it to stream music from my PC, iPhone 4, iPad and iPod Touch. My Airport Express is connected to a Teac UD-H01 DAC via an optical cable which is connected to an amp and speakers. I had no problems at all with this set up until I upgraded the Airport Express firmware to 7.6.3. The sound then started to drop out frequently. To cut a long story short after various testing, the problem had to be the Airport Express. I called Apple support but they were not much help and couldn't fix the problem and said they would speak to engineering and phone back. While I was waiting I decided to have another go to find the problem and opened the airport utility and saw that there was an option to downgrade the firmware. At this point I realised that the problems started about the same time that I upgraded the firmware to 7.6.3 but didn't think at the time that Apple would release a firmware that didn't work. Anyway I downgraded to 7.6.1 and hey presto, everything worked again. A couple of days ago I noticed that firmware 7.6.4 was available and thought I'd give it a go, not good - same problem as 7.6.3. I've downgraded to 7.6.1 again and all is well. Hope this helps.

• Why does my apple tv keep dropping out of home sharing.

why does my apple tv keep dropping out of home sharing.

I use homeplug powerline adapters to create my home Lan. I've never had any problem with my ATV 2.
This isn't ideal either, I would rather have shielded CAT7 cables reach all the way to my modem.
Either way, wired solutions are more reliable and have a higher potential speed as wireless uses pulsed electromagnetic radiation as a means for transportation in stead of copper or fiber optic cables
The World Health Organization's IARC has recently classified radio frequency electromagnetic fields as possibly level 2 carcinogenic to humans, concluding:
"the evidence, while still accumulating, is strong enough to support a conclusion and the 2B classification. The conclusion means that there could be some risk, and therefore we need to keep a close watch for a link between cell phones and cancer risk."

Sounds like something got corrupted during your upgrade.
I would restore from a last known good backup if I were you.
If that doesn't work I would set the phone up as new and re-install all of your apps and re-sync your music again.

• Why does my imac mouse keep dropping out?

My bluetooth mouse on my iMac keeps dropping out even though it has relatively new batteries. Is there any hope for it?

Sometimes making a Bluetooth device a favourite can help. It fixed it for me when I had exactly the same problem:
System Preferences>Bluetooth, select the mouse on the left and then click on the small 'cog' at the bottom left of the window and select 'Show more info'. You should now get the option to make the mouse a 'favourite'.
I've also seen it suggested on here that adding a small piece of thin card/paper to where the batteries are can make them more secure and stop them breaking contact with the terminals. Not tried this one myself as I didn't need to.

• Why does my iMac wireless keep dropping out?

My iMac wi-fi keeps dropping out intermittently. Sometimes, I can trace it to the router, but sometimes, everything else stays connected to the router, and only my iMac drops out. I can check 'speed test' app in my iPhone4s through the router and it is still working and connected, but the iMac has dropped off. It usually will connect back up, but sometimes takes 2 tries to get the job done. It is starting to get annoying in frequency.
The iMac is about 1 year old now. This has been happening recently. I suspect trouble in my airport extreme card, but don't know how to check it out.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Jim

never mind. I went to apple care support and after deleting some plists, resetting the computer a few times and a few other tricks, it is working well again.
But to answer your questions: airport monitor of computer. I have a Cisco router. The iPhone was using internet and the speed test app showed normal connections and speed.
Thanks for your interest,
Jim

• Why does Find My iPhone keep logging me out?

This recently started happening whenever I launch the Find My iPhone app on my iPhone. I used to save the login info once and it would remember that but in the last couple of days it keeps asking me to login every time I use it for both username and password.

I had this problem, But this morning I updated my phone on the PC and the problem seems to have gone!
Give it a try

• Why does my Apple TV keep dropping out of my Wi-Fi Network?

I've only had the device for about 3 weeks and I've already returned one hoping it was a hardware issue but the new one is doing the same thing. I enter my Wi-Fi password and it will keep in for about 48 hours. Then when I go back to it I find that somehow it's kicked off and I have to manually re-enter the password and start all over. Very annoying and if I can't figure it out I will just return the device and live without it. I can watch Netflix on my Wii after all.
Anybody with similar issues or been able to fix the problem?

• Why does my MacBook Pro keep blacking out randomly?

I just fit this brand new MacBook about 3 weeks ago off of Amazon. About a week after I first used it, it started to blackout randomly & take me to put my password back in. I would start typing my password, then it'd do it again. Sometimes. I tried changing the settings for the energy saver, but it still continued to do it. It might happen minutes, seconds, or hours between. It's frustrating when I'm writing papers or online or doing what I need to do for school. It doesn't erase anything or turn off, but it's still not functioning like it should be for the money I paid for it. If you could help me out, if greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

While I'm not sure what the problem is, it sounds like your machine blanks out unpredictably, or exhibits general problems that are hard to describe. Something seems to be wrong, anyway
You may want to visit your local Apple Store/Genius Bar. It's a good educational resource, in case you just need to learn about your unit's features. But if there's a problem, they're the place to get it fixed. You're going to want to document the issues, specifically, and preferably so that an Apple employee can duplicate the problem on your machine.
