Why does my music control on the lock screen not working?

When My phone is locked and I want to control my music that is playing, nothing happens. The play button is showing and the song that I am already listening to is not showing up. I can not skip forward or go back. I have powered off the phone and it is still doing the same thing. Somtimes the double click of the home button does the same thing, but it is more concerning for the lock screen control.
I just saw this issue come up with the New iOS6 download.
Help?

There is corrupted data or settings on your phone.
Try as needed:
1. Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
2. Restore iOS using iTunes, also restoring a backup
3. Restore iOS using iTunes as a new phone .

  • Why has my music controls in the locked screen stopped working after upgrading to ios. 7.0.2?

I cannot pause, advance track, etc with the in-control feature on ios 7. When my phone is locked and the music is playing, (ie. iTunes, podcasts or any other audio enabled app) the play controls do not work even when I access the in-control feature.  I remember this working after I updated. Now it's not. Anyone else had this issues or know a fix?

I have the same issue. with iphone5 with iOS 7.0.2

  • Music buttons on the lock screen no longer work with ios7.

on my 4S, when ios 7 was loaded, bluetooth music play buttons and the music buttons on the lock screen no longer work.  Hence, I can neither use the music buttons at the lock screen nor can I use the control on my car (bluetooth...) to change songs.  Volume adjust at the lock screen appears to work.  Can't pause/play or move to the next/prior music.

I did see a reply on a similar post:
    You can try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
However, some onther users have reported the same problem so it it may be a bug in iOS
I did the RESET DEVICE only to mine (i.e., did not reset all settings...) and it did work to fix the buttons (haven't tested on the car, but it'll likely be OK now...).  Certainly there is a bug somewhere that needs fixed...

Hello everyone my iPhone 5s sounds stop working.i did not do anything it just stop working when I tried to turn on my music player all the sounds is not working I already check the volume and it is not also muted :( what happened can anyone solve my problem please

    Hey Kirby17,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you are not getting any sound from the speaker, follow this article.
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5180
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
    Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved, please contact Apple Support.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • IPhone 6 camera on lock screen not working properly

When I drag up the camera icon on the lock screen I can see the camera app for a split sec but then the screen goes black.
While in this screen I can still make pictures by vaguely pressing where the white button should be or using the volume buttons.
It also doesnt work if I first drag up the 'settings menu' and access the camera from there, but when out of the lock screen everything works perfectly fine.
Is there anyway I can try to reinstall iOS, or anything that might work? Sounds like a software problem to me.

Press and hold both the home button and the lock button (sleep/wake button) until you see the apple logo. This performs a restart and does not delete any data.
I hope this solves your problem.

  • Why does iPhone remain lit up on lock screen?

After updating to iOS 7.1, my iPhone remains lit up after receiving a notification while on standby mode. I noticed this after fully charging the phone and leaving it unattended, unused, and on standby mode. After upon returning to the phone, the battery life dropped greatly while seeing the screen lit up. I know it was not recent because the notification received said "1h ago".  Is anyone else having this problem? If so, is there a way to fix this without having to turn off the notifications in the settings? The iPhone also becomes hot to the touch.

Even upon turning off notifications for the lock screen, the messages are still appearing.

  • Why does my Mac stay on the white screen when I turn it on?

Why does my Mac stay on white screen when I turn it on?

Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
The first step in dealing with a boot failure is to secure your data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since your last backup, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
         a. Boot into the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
    b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 3
If there's a built-in optical drive, a disc may be stuck in it. Follow these instructions to eject it.
    Step 4
Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can boot now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
If you've booted from an external storage device, make sure that your internal boot volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
    Step 5
Boot in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
When you boot in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, your boot volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 6.
If you can boot and log in now, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
If the boot process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 6
Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select your startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then reboot as usual.
    Step 7
Reinstall the OS. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 8
Repeat Step 6, but this time erase the boot volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer your data from a Time Machine or other backup.
    Step 9
This step applies only to older Macs (not current models) that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery. Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery, if there is one, is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a boot failure. Typically the failure will be preceded by loss of the settings for the startup disk and system clock. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
    Step 10
If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.

  • Why does my computer tell me the "Disk was not properly ejected" when waking from sleep mode?

I am a real "Newbie" to Mac OS. I have a new iMac 21.5" running OS X Lion. When I awake the computer from sleep mode with the spacebar on the keyboard, I get the message "The disk was not ejected proper, etc.". Iss there something I am doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Mike G.

I am one of those who had experienced this kind of problem.  My former Time Machine disk used to automatically eject itself when my iMac sleeps, hence upon waking up my iMac. i always get the error message that the disk was not properly ejected.
From what I was able to gather from my experience, until the time that I found a workable solution, I think I can say that the problem is most probably caused by the incompatibility of certain external drives with how the iMac operates when on sleep and upon waking up.  Some external drives are just not able to cope with how the iMac tries to remount a connected disk after it wakes up from sleep.  There are just some external drives that cannot continue to be mounted after the iMac wakes from sleep.  There are just some external drives that are not responsive enough. In other words, the existence of the problem lies with the type of external drive you are using.
My former Time Machine disk, the problematic one, was an Imation M300 Apollo 1 TB external disk.  It unmounts everytime my iMac went to sleep, but does not remount after waking up the iMac.  The disk will continue to be unmounted until I physically remove its USB connector and replug it in the iMac.
I replaced my former Time Machine disk with my current one, a Transcend Storejet 1 TB.  And the problem went away.  The Transcend disk continue to be mounted after the iMac is woken up even from the longest of sleep.  I have even the energy saving option "put the hard disk to sleep..." checked.  The Transcend disk comes with a Y cable, i.e. it has two USB connectors, but I only connect the one for both data and power--and it still remains mounted even after waking the iMac from sleep.
The sad realization, however, is that since there are only some external drives that are not able to work with the iMac, no matter how many those some may seem to be, it will be highly unlikely for Apple to itself fix this kind of a problem.
I, therefore, make the following recommendations:
    1.  Check first if your problematic disk has a firmware upgrade available.  In some cases, the firmware upgrade may be enough to make the disk more responsive to the iMac waking up.
    2.  If there is no firmware upgrade available, check if your power/data USB cable is properly working.
    3.  If your power/data USB cable is in order, and the problem still persists, I think it is inevitable that you have to replace the problematic disk with a newer one that could respond well with the iMac's wake/sleep operation.  With what disk will you replace your problematic one?  I can only recommend from my personal experience the Transcend disk I mentioned earlier.  You may also search this forum on other brands of disks that may also work.
    Regards.

  • Why does iCal and Calendar on the iPad do not search before year 2000?

I have used for many years with great pleasure the agenda of the Psion MX palmtop computer with GUI and touch screen, dating from 1998. All applications (Office apps, WAP internet plus agenda) on this machine are faultless and this Symbian 50 computer never crashes, uses only two AA cells a month and for me it is almost the perfect mobile companion. But Psion has closed down many years ago and the flexible cable between the moving screen and he mainboard breaks down after 8 years of daily service. Spare parts are hard to get by nowadays and so I decided to switch over to the iPad. My agenda covers data from 1980 on and for me it is a the book of my personal and working life after 1980. So I exported the data from the Psion to my MacBook Pro and synchonized these with my iPad 3. I was a bit shocked to discover that iCal on the mac can *not* "Go To" dates before the year 2000. You have to click by hand every month to reach e.g. 1980 (there is no year tab). Searching on data in history works fine on the mac (backward at least until 1980) But on the iPad somtimes the data in these ancient times is not shown at all, you have first to select your calendars 'off' and 'on' again. Searching for old dat doesn't work either, so again you can only visit those data by tapping by hand, hapily here for previous years. It seems that Apple is not very interested in history, where both the iPad and the Mac don't support looking back more then 12 years. Having programmed myself some financial applications in the 1980th I assume these are vey small missing points in the two applications. Didn't anyone at Apple use these calendars for more than any weeks or did they never tested those for serious use? The calendars both function from 1900 on, so even Einstein could have used them som time of his life. Please do some fixing of these apps (it is *really* a small job) and make these applications more coherent to the excellent hardware of Apple

        Hi Rspenia,
I am sorry to hear that your phone was damaged. I'd like to address your concern. Depending on how much damage was to the screen, it may need to be replaced. Was the issue with your screen fixed? Do you have insurance coverage on your device? If so and and you wish to replace the phone, you can file a claim online here http://bit.ly/07CrqPK. I hope this helps you with getting a working device and recovering from the broken screen issue.
