Why does my network name change to the Serial Number of my AExpress?

After setting up a new network with my airport express, shortly thereafter the name seems to change to the serial number of the AE device (ie. Apple Network...). Anyone have any idea why that is happening? It seems to couple with decreased performance/connection to the device as well.

Not sure why your post ended up in the Apple Server section but here goes.
By default your music should be located in one of the following locations
which you can see by clicking on My Computer
Windows XP - C:\ - Documents & Settings - Username (your name or your login name) - My Music - iTunes
Windows Vista/7 - C:\ - Users - Username - My Music - iTunes
it's unlikely your music has been wiped and more likely that iTunes can't find the library file that tells it what music is in your collection and where it's located. This can happen if you renamed or moved one of the folders above to something/somewhere else. Another idea is to do a search and look for files in a format used by iTunes such as .mp3 or .aac which might show you where they are.

Why would my line attenuation have gone from 65dB to 72.3dB? I think there is a bad connection on my line, but BT's test equipment says my line is fine.

all copper and is on the best E and D side cables available.
We have changed
the network equipment in the exchange on multiple occasions.
And it doesn’t
look like there is any more physical work can be carried out.
The report I’m
waiting for from BT Wholesale is about a known issue that we have had with
certain exchange equipment which is used to make the phone ring when it is
being called and causing the broadband connections to drop, I need this to
confirm if your line is affected by this specific issue.
I think you
have spoke with Donal earlier today and discussed the option of moving onto an
8meg service instead of the upto 20meg, and you told him this has been tried
before and did not work, can you remember roughly when this was so I can check
it with BT Wholesale?
What happens
next
There is still
an engineer on his way out to you tomorrow between 1pm and 6pm. I’m not sure
what this engineer will be able to do given that we have had it confirmed that
you are already on the best lines available but we will see how he gets on and
take it from there. (Might get a nice surprise!)
I’ll give you a
call tomorrow to confirm the update from the chief engineers office and also
see if the engineer has been out on site with you.

Thanks for the reply, some of the information in your email isn’t correct.
The D-side is only the “best lines available” because it’s the only one available!
I had the BB disconnecting when the phone rang, long before going on the new equipment.
They have exchanged the network equipment on “multiple occasions”, even though I told them not to bother because I knew it would make no difference.
The facts are:
NO WORK has been done on my D-side (apart from the connections directly outside my property)
Many people that have had the same fault have told me it turned out to be the D-side
I was told by a BT Openreach engineer that they would not do any work on my D-side because part of it was aluminium. But this now turns out not to be true, so I have no idea why they will not do any work on my D-side.
At the cab, the broadband is the correct speed and works fine.
My caller display, often doesn't work. I think this is the same line fault that causes this.
A leakage to earth was detected on my line, but was never fixed.
My phone often rings 2 or 3 times, when I finish a call. I think this is the same line fault that causes this.
When the BB speed goes up, the router records a huge amount of errors.
A few years ago my BB failed altogether, it turned out to be the connection outside my property. The connection was green and in bad condition. There are loads more of these connections between my house and the cab, they will be just as old or older.
A BT engineers test equipment detected a change in resistance somewhere on my D-side, I haven’t heard if that was ever looked into.
Every piece of evidence points at a bad connection on my D-side, so you can see why I will not rest until I know that all the connections have been replaced. BT wholesales answer of “that there is nothing wrong with your line” just isn’t good enough because the fault still exists.

Sometimes the above script cycle thru all the colors in proper order and other time it get stuck.
I have linked it to a button so its part of the button javascript.
Is there a way to craft setTimeOut calls that it becomes a reliable delay ?
How to craft it such that the file does not change and does not have to be saved ? This is wanted in addition but not the essential issue at the moment.

I ran it but did not follow your last comment and acrobat disk icon prompts for saving the file. Can anyone remove this "latter problem" ? Can it be solved by any means ?

Why does my localhost name change when my Mac "wakes up"?

I've turned on file sharing, but each time that my iMac wakes up from sleep mode, I get a message that the localhost name is "already taken", and it appends an integer, e.g., -1 to the localhost name. If I don't reset it back to the original name in System Preferences, each time the computer wakes, it will provide the same message and increment the integer value at the end of the localhost name.

The most obious question would be, do you have many computer on your Network ?

     - two computers having the same name
     - A Local Mac OS X server get confuse and think your computer is another one
          (could be related to accessing the network on bothh Wifi and Ethernet and playing aroud :-)

Why does my network configuartion change?

I have a macbook downstairs in the kitchen and almost always have to restart the modem and airport router upstairs to access the web.
Recently my wife's iMac (upstairs within 20 feet of the router) has started doing the same thing.
Both my iMac and my wife's have an external hard drive for Time Machine so data is backed up.
Would a reinstall of Snow Leopard be likely to help?

You could have more 5 computers authorized if you ever, for example, reformatted a hard drive or replaced a hard drive without deauthorizing the computer first. You won't lose any data. Mistimp is correct, they can't tell you which computers are authorized.

Where did the serial number come from? You should be able to log on to your Adobe account, and find the correct serial number from your Orders page. If this does not fix your problem, you will need to contact customer support, as this is a user forum, and we can not access that sort of information.

I'm locked out of my IPhone 3 and I cannot find the serial number

This wouldn't be an issue if I could find the serial number. However, since this is an IPhone 3, I don't know if the serial code is on the outside of the device. I set my password, then when I tried it, it wouldn't let me in. I checked on the back of the device to find the serial number, however, it doesn't seem to be printed.

I do not know if the FCC ID or the IC ID is the serial number or not. I need the serial number to get service, and I need service to get the serial number. That's my issue.

It's right at an hour (consistently), but the computer goes to sleep prior to that. It's as if iTunes goes to sleep. Also, it wasn't always this way. Originally, the movies played through without interruption. At some point, I guess a setting was changed, and now I only get an hour. Also. My energy settings are set to go to sleep at 10 minutes.

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works. Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up. Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp. Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp. Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.

When you click the account there will be a Full Name field, and that is where you would change the name that gets sent with your emails.

Also, if a drive gets "lost," that will happen. The original mount point still exists, so when it is remounted, it has to create a new mount point.
If you Go to the Computer in the Go menu, do you see one with and one without the -1?
