Why does my new HPE desktop have a junkie looking red "b" key on the keyboard?
Just received a new HPE Desktop made in Mexico. It can in with a junkie looking red "b" key instead of an upper case white "B" key like the rest of the keyboard keys. Did I receive some kind of foriegn keyboard instead of the US version??

Here is the specs for your computer HP Pavilion HPE h8-1360t Product Specifications and Configurable Options the computer does come with beats audio. The lowercase b is just an indication of that and everything else on your keyboard will continue to function as normal.

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried.
1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article.
2. Launch the application "Audio MIDI Setup" by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search and selecting it in the results (it should be at the top.) Select the Output tab. If the Mute boxes are checked, uncheck them. Move the Volume sliders all the way to the right.
3. If your model has an audio-out (headphone) port, and a red light is coming from it, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by your warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
4. Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard and mouse, if applicable. If more than one display is connected, disconnect all extra ones. Reboot and test.
5. Boot in safe mode. Don't log in; just reboot as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do not appear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
6. Reset the NVRAM.
7. Reset the SMC.
8. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data. For a possible shortcut, see this thread.
9. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store. -
When i go on my phone it says i have 3 new messages but when i click on it i really dont. I turned off and turned my phone on 3 times and it still says i have 3 new messages how do i stop that. Without actually turning on the bager icon thing that pops up on the app.

It sounds like your notification for messages is showing that you have a few mesages but when you go into the app, there are no new messages. I would start by signing out of your Apple ID in Settings > Messages. Then close the running apps on the phone:

Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone, sign back in, and try again:

CT, I suspect that I either mistated the question or don't understand how to set the default back ground. Here's a general LabVIEW question:
Why does LabVIEW allow me to have 2 controls with the same name in the same VI? It seems like this only increases the chances of confusion. Especially when someone is just looking at a block diagram (or documentation of a block diagram).
No other programming language that I know of allows this. I realize that uniqueness of name is not as critical in LabVIEW as it is in any text based language. For example, in a text based language, if I had 2 variables called abc and I wrote a statement
abc = 12;
the compiler would not know which abc was being referred to. In LabVIEW, if we had 2 controls called abc, the equivalent of doing an abc=12 is writing to a local variable (which is always linked to one of the controls) and there is no ambiguity. Still, someone looking at the code cannot figure out which abc is linked to unless he does a right click>>Find>>terminal (or a double click).
Even though I have never and never will name 2 controls the same, I think it would be a nice constraint to see enforced by LabVIEW.
Any input from NI engineers on this?

Trial1.JPG 21 KBI know when you copy and paste a control or indicator, LabVIEW automatically increments the label. But since you can hide the label, and show or hide the caption, there must be another mechanism that LabVIEW uses to keep track of all the controls. I thought I remember back in the "old days" (ver 6 or 6i) LabVIEW would give you an error if you tried to make two controls with the same name. Perhaps that was LabWindows/CVI.
I don't know where the index is actually stored, but if you look at a property node linked to the Pane, you will see an array of references to the controls and indicators. Since the references are stored in an array, I assume that any local variables are tied to the index of that array. Since the labels themselves are properties of the control, I guess there's no reason to limit what that label is. They all have a unique index number.
Interestingly, this array of references grows from the beginning. That is, any new control or indicator is put at index 0, not the end of the array.

You are surprised that Mac OS X 10.7 is running on hardware that Apple officially supports and says it will run on? I find your logic unbelievably falwed.
Not a single problem I've mentioned would be caused by "slow" CPU or "little" RAM. How does iPhoto not bringing up the file dialog box have anything even remotely to do with the speed of the CPU or the quantity of RAM? If what you say is true, then yes, performance would be bad, but it wouldn't be selectively bad. I stated that apps such as Reason 5 run perfectly fine, even really well. I can load 30-50 racks and synths and not even reach 50% of CPU utilization, Reason never freezes, etc. DVD playback never freezes as well!! Your logic is horrendously flawed, it seems you don't know much about computer architecture Thus, unfortunately, your reply was of absolutely no help, sorry.
p.s. the external disk spin up problem freezing up the entire graphical interface also has nothing to do with either my CPU/RAM or the OS version I'm running. It is a known crippleware factor of Mac OS X that at least a thousand people are complaining about online and Apple has done nothing about! -
