Why does my OMNI 120 pc keep freezing up?

I recently got this computer from a rent to own place,I got this computer new, never been used, There has been a couple of other people on my computer lately and now it is alot slower and it keeps freezing up when you get to going to fast or doing too many things at one time? How would I go about cleaning up my computer, deleting cookies and such, how would I know what to delete and what not to delete?

Hello ozy61079,
It can be confusing on what is safe to delete and what is not. There are many programs that are available to help you do it, but I don't recommend them for a couple reasons
1. It creates a dependency and you may never learn what is correct to do and what isn't correct
2. It's a program and sometimes it falters, deletes things it shouldn't or misses other things.
This computer maintenance guide should be a good starting point for you.

I'm sure there are many other guides that exist with similar steps. Computer maintenance is going to be the most important thing you can do to prolong the life of your machine.

Videos, especially You Tube keep freezing on my New IPad.

What is the speed of your router and does your computer connect to the router via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable?
I'm suspecting you might have an older router that is broadcasting at less than "n" speed and your computer is connected to the router via a cable.
Another explanation might be that you have some interference with your wifi signal. Are there any nearby Wi-Fi networks? If so it or they might be using the same channel as yours is causing the interference. They other networks might also have the same name as yours. This happens because each router manufacturer uses the same default network name and leaves it up to the user to change that to something unique. It is amazing how many Wi-Fi networks just named Linksys there are out there.
Keep working through some of the items in the link Paul provided. Hopefully you'll find a way to get you iPad up to a faster speed.

  • Why does my brand new imac keep freezing up?

I may only have several applications open and the computer will freeze up.  I can use the mouse and move it, but not click on anything.

    Wow,
I wonder why it is that when someone wants a real answer and experiences from users as to why an Apple product doesn't work, there is usually an iCult member who somes to the defense of Apple as if being a disciple of God :-) That's not a slander. It's meant to be part truth, part humor.
Brody, your other answers are great and what I was wanting to hear about.  However, I can see you get too defensive about your favorite company.
I'm not looking for a lecture on why Apple is so wonderful.  I sincerely want to know the things I should look out about when buying an iMac and to hear solutions to problems form users with issues.  I would not be so hesitate about buying an iMac if it weren't for my current issues with iTunes freezing and crashing on multiple computers, an iPhone4 that doesn't work in speakerphone mode, and an iPad coming dead on arrival (rare I understand).  I've been an electronics system designer for more decades than you might think, so I am not dumb about equipment.
Now before anyone jumps to conclusions, I am not a proponent of Windows or any other specific competitive company.  Every product has its issues and advantages.  But let's get the fact right.  Apple is not the most valuable computer company on earth because of the "machines".  If they were, then they would own that market.  They don't.  They got to be so successful because of the nice selection and decent design of many various products and services (and at a high price too).  Apple does some really clever things, but also some dumb things as well.  I'm looking to avoid the dumb things.

  • Why does my 2011 MacBook Pro keep freezing up?

It runs 10.8.1, and has been working great so far, until about two days ago. My monitor would go black and I'd hear 3 beeping sounds, and that was it. Sometimes, the monitor freezes and I hear the beeping. Why is this happening? Is it a software issue? Is my hard-drive about to die? I hope not, I've only had this machine since April 2012.

May be a memory related issue.
MBP is in warranty for 1 year from the date of purchase.
You may have to take the MBP to Apple store to have it checked.

why does my screen turn blue and freeze every time i try to plug in my 'mini display to hdmi' cable into my thunderbolt port in order to use an external monitor? it only works if i turn the computer on with it already plugged in.

Do you have gfxCardStatus installed?  Is your monitor set to "Integrated" or "Discrete".  You want it set to Discrete to drive the external HDMI display.
Try resetting the PRAM and SMC

Are you sure you have a good miniDisplayPort to HDMI cable?
Do you have another HDMI display you can test against (your neighbor's HDMI capable TV).
Do you have friend that can test the cable using their Mac and maybe their TV or a monitor that has HDMI input.

  • Why does my Mac Book pro keep restarting

why does my Mac Book pro keep restarting and how can it be fixed

It would be nice if you could include a kernel panic log to verify that your problem is...
Mid-2010 15" MacBook Pros - the bad NVIDIA GPU
If you're having frequent kernel panics with your 15" mid-2010, or intermittent screen problems, the problem is, more than likely, the faulty NVIDIA GPU found in a number of those machines.
Here's just a sample of a kernel panic log that points to the faulty NVIDIA card:
Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies):
             com.apple.GeForce(6.4.0)@0x82ac4000->0x82b7afff
                dependency: com.apple.NVDAResman(6.4.0)@0x834a0000
                dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONDRVSupport(2.2.1)@0x82fd3000
                dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6.5)@0x7a802000
                dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(2.2.1)@0x8301b000
             com.apple.nvidia.nv50hal(6.4.0)@0x83c05000->0x84019fff
                dependency: com.apple.NVDAResman(6.4.0)@0x834a0000
             com.apple.NVDAResman(6.4.0)@0x834a0000->0x8378dfff
                dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6.5)@0x7a802000
                dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONDRVSupport(2.2.1)@0x82fd3000
                dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(2.2.1)@0x8301b000
Here's the "official" Apple take on the issue - but the very real kernel panics need not be preceded by 'Intermittent black screen or loss of video'... in fact, you might not experience any video problems at all. Although video problems can certainly be a portent of things to come…
So what can you do? Print out a copy of your kernel panic and a copy of the Knowledge Base article and take them, along with your machine, to your local Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. The unfortunate thing is that many people have passed the “three years from date of purchase” now and Apple is not honoring the free logic board replacement for many users. Some dealers seem to be making some exceptions for those past the three year mark, but don’t count on it…
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Why does my Power MAC G4 keep restarting itself after I shut it down?

    Hi,
    Thanks for reading this.
Why does my Power MAC G4 keep restarting itself after I shut it down?
This JUST started happening only 4 days ago.
Most recent installation was Limewire, but I removed it to see if this problem would go away.
I have 3 internal drives (See drive types below) that all have OS 10 on them in order to be able to boot up from either drive in the event of trouble.
    However...
No matter WHICH drive I use as the start up drive... the computer STILL restarts itself after it is properly commanded to shut down.
Prior to the Limewire install... the ADOBE creative suite was installed.
There is a Lexmark X83 printer hooked to the computer, which, it seems doesn't matter if it is left on or off... the computer still restarts itself.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hi, Tommy!
If you still have problems, trash the following three preference files, then shut down and do a PMU reset. (PMU reset procedure for the QS is the same as is shown at the link for the Gigabit Ethernet.)
    HD/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.AutoWake.plist
    HD/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.PowerManagement.plist

why does my 2009 27" imac keep shutting down?

Could, also, be failing hard drive , power supply or logic board.
You may have to make an appointment and take your iMac in to Apple or Apple authorized repair center for diagnostics and a repair estimate.
If your iMac has a 1 TB internal hard drive, it maybe a Seagate drive and maybe eligible for free replacement under the Apple Seagate 1 TB internal hard drive replacement program.
If you can get your iMac running, you need to backup all of your data ASAP!. Either backup to optical disc, flash drive/s or purchase an external hard drive for backup. You can use a data cloning program such as CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper to make an exact copy of your iMac's internal hard drive.
You can check for eligibility for free hard drive replacement by inputting your iMac's serial number here.
