Why does my password for the app store work for updates but not for new purchases
Very frustrated. I've been trying to download Evernote for days now and it keeps telling me my password is incorrect. I use the same password to update apps on my phone and it works fine.

Solved. Talked to support and went into settings/store and signed out. Powered down and restarted and logged back in through settings/store and the app store then recognized my password.

My mum set up an iCloud account for my iPhone 4 but forgot the password. This caused me to create a new account, and it can be used for the App Store and iTunes and all that, but I can't change the initial iCloud account (the one my mum made). My device keeps prompting me for the password every few minutes after updating to iOS 8, and I've tried every option possible to retrieve the password, but I don't even know the answers to the security questions and I can't find the password reset email anywhere and I don't know the back up emails my mum used. I literally cannot find any legitimate way to sign out of the initial iCloud account without entering a password (which neither I nor my parents know). Is there a way for me to retreive the password or change to my new account without the password?

help me my apps won't update when i opened the app store and tap updates nothing shows up i can't update my apps.
The backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music. Se the following for what it does contain.

Why does my iPad open the app store whenever an add comes up when I'm on the internet?
When I'm on my iPad and on the internet whenever a game app add comes up on the side it forcibly takes me to the app store to download the app without me even touching it. I have tried different browsers and they all do it.
That's because the ad contains JavaScript which activates a URL. That URL causes the App Store to open.
Avoid those sites which cause this. Complain to their webmasters.
Using "Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data" may help. -
Started getting this error today (01/14/2014) when trying to download updates from the App Store for my MBAir 11" mid 2013. Error: NSURLErrorDomain error -1100
Are updates still available for OS below Maverick?That error may result from connecting to a cellular network via a phone or mobile broadband device. If that's what you're doing, try another network.

i was charged no my credit card for the app store registeration and i am not able to login, i tried to use the forget password options but it isnt going through
Apple id : [email protected]If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Hey Apple (: Just wondering if i block my facebook and twitter on my ipod with a password does this password effect the app store password or can they be different ?
I did not blocked it . My mum did she got the people from the store to do it but i'm just worried that the password she use to block those sites might effect the password for my appstore. So you're saying that it won't effect and that i can use a different password ?

My iPhone 5s is still asking for the password in the App Store.
I just got the iPhone 5s yesterday. I setup the fingerprint scanner wich works great aside from one thing, It always asks me for my itunes password in the App Store. I have turned on the correct setting and I have updated to iOS 7.0.1. I have restrictions turned on since my kids use the phone alot. When I turn off restrictions everything works fine. This is definitely a bug. I asume apple will address this in an update soon, but has anyone found a fix for this?
It's not a bug. If restriction is on, what do you expect?
iPhone is meant for a single user, so if restrictions is set, you cannot use Touch ID to buy. -
why does my apple id in app store settings show one thing and in the apps it shows a different id (ccl43) no email address)
I am unsure what to do I cannot get into my apps account in order to upgrade it. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!It's the Apple ID that app was purchased with.

The app store on my laptop is asking for my husband's apple id and password to update my apps, but he is not a user on my computer. How do I change that? The apple id email is grayed out, so I cannot select it.
Delete and redownload those applications.

Changed my email address, confirmed my password. The App Store has old email address and does not recognize the password?
Easy fix... it's a refresh issue. Sign out and back in with changed name.

You can store it in Keychain if you're worried about forgetting it. You can also use 1Password which will allow you to pull it up from a button on the toolbar and automatically sign in.

Need help Changing the previous owners settings for the app store. I can't buy any apps. Because it asks for previous owners information.
I had this same problem, and it was erased.
For some really odd reason iPads sometimes retain the last user iTunes account on first visit to the iTunes store.
I am thinking it is actually the iTunes store recognising the iPad, and so 'helping' by showing the last log in settings.
So I would also recommend Erase All Content and Settings to start.
If that was done then what you need to do is log in, or create your own itunes account.
This is in Settings, Store.
create your own iTunes account (or log in with an old one).
Purchase something.
Then (as long as you don't have any app from the last owner on) it should never ask for the old account again. -
I have an IPad that has someone elses ID for the App store. How do I get rid of that so I can use my own?
The previous user needs to do this.
