Why does my password keep resetting?

I have reset my password 3 or four times in the last 24 hours. It keeps saying the password I generated last is incorrect. Little help?

This is SUPER FRUSTRATING that I have to come up with a new password every 3 weeks!
I keep on coming up with new passwords and hence I tend to forget them all the time. How can I make this password resetting stop?
HELP!
Thank you,
Lubna
You're having to reset your password because, by your own admission, you keep forgetting it.
You don't have to make up a totally new password each time.  Simply come up with a strong root password that you can commit to memory (for example, if your favorite saying is 'A stitch in time saves nine' and your favorite number is seven, then use something like 'Asits9s3v3n').  Then, for whatever service you're using your password for, add two letters to the end.  Like for eBay, add 'eb' to the end.  Then add '01' to end of that.
Then, whenever you're prompted to update your password by a website or service (some require a new password every three months for example), simply increase the '01' to 02'.
In the above example, that's a 15 character password, which is very difficult to guess or 'hack'.  But since it uses a system that you can commit to memory, and it's going to be slightly different for every website, and you don't have to come up with a totally new password each time, it's very user friendly.  And as far as 'writing down' your passwords, all you have to write down is the last two digits for each website.  So, my password list at home would look like:
Ebay 13
Yahoo Mail 27
Bank 36
And so on.
There are other methods as well, but with proper organization and planning, its easy to have secure passwords that you can actually remember.  Just be sure to not give out your root password or your system to anyone other than a very trusted friend/family member.

Do you share your Apple ID with anyone else? If so, could they be changing it? Your Apple ID password does not change on its own.

  • Why does my password keep getting reset?

I find that about 2-3 times a week, my password to my account stops working. I have to regularly reset it. Has that happened to anyone else, and any idea as to why that would occur?

I haven't heard that so far as. How much i am aware there was a password revok that happened with some users few weeks back. But that should have been fixed by now.
Try resetting your password once again and let us know in case you face the same issue in future.

  • Why Does My IPAD keep resetting?

It does it at random intervals, worse was in front of an audience of 200! Then it wont happen for a while, then it happens again and again for a few hours. Then its OK again for a week or two, iv'e taken it into my local apple store and there is nothing wrong with the battery, or any of the other diags.
Is this because of my companies security settings? the IPAD is encrypted, and has Air Watch provisioning profiles for my Enterprise server and Cisco AnyConnect for VPN tunnelling which is required to be switched on always.

It may be hacked and control by a user on another location. Change your password immediately.

  • Why does my iPod keep resetting on IOS 8?

Since I updated to IOS 8 around this time last week, my iPod Touch 5th gen has crashed 3 times. To reset it I have had to plug it in to my computer, which is inconvenient when I am in lectures all day and my iPod stops working first thing in the morning, or when the alarm doesn't go off because it has tried to reset itself in the middle of the night.
What am I supposed to do to stop it from refusing to work? I have had only one occurrance of this over the last 2 years and that's because it overheated, which it definitely is not doing now.

Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If it has not been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • Why does my iphone4s keep resetting itself?

I would have my iphone4s on and on like game app or fun app and next thing I know it is blank screen then the apple logo and then blank screen for while then apple logo and then sometimes back to my iphone screen
it is like it is someone or something restarting or it is doing it self
    and i don't know why
    please help

Try to set up the phone as new device without using the backup, explained in this article:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
If the phone works after that, restore your data and settings from the backup again. If the problem comes back, the backup contained damaged data that caused the restarts and you'll have to start all over again without your backup data.
If this only happens during playing certain apps, deleting and reinstalling those apps might help.

  • Why does my iPod keep resetting itself back to factory setting when I sync it to iTunes?

I got a new mackbook air and I had to restore my iPod nano to get it to sync to it. But now everytime I sync it, it will say syncing and then ready to disconnect but then it restarts itself to no music. I don't know why it's doing this...help!

I would try restoring it in iTunes first. See if that clars it up.

  • Why does my AOL keep resetting it self only on this browser

I will have my AOL email up on my Firefox Browser and every so often the AOL email will just reset itself and say "you have mail", and close whatever mail I had open. If it was new mail it will put it in the old mail file.
This is not happening when I open my mail in I.E or Google Chrome. I did get the AOL mail that went with Firefox.
Would you know how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Jim

The AOL toolbar - the AOL website itself, even - is probably making your computer sad. I can't even fathom using those ancient, horribly-made things. You should consider switching to a modern email provider.
If you really want to stick with AOL, you should contact their support.

  • Why does my computer keep disconnecting from my wifi?

Why does my computer keep disconnecting from my wifi?

Some users with various Wi-Fi problems have reported that they were given the following instructions by Apple Support, sometimes with success. After completing the procedure, you'll have to recreate all your settings in the Networkpreference pane. Make sure you know how to do that before you begin. Taking screenshots of the preference pane may be helpful.
    Step 1
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "SystemConfiguration" selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Reboot and recreate the network settings.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 2
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 3
    Reset the PRAM.

Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
