Why does my Premiere CS6 forget rendering?

We've been using Premiere since 5.0 - then 5.5 and now 6.0 - and recently, we've noticed that our projects forgets the rendering every time they're re-loaded.
If I open a project, render the timeline and saves, it's not rendered when opening the project again.
I'm 100% sure that this was not the case in 5.0 and 5.5
Also, it seems like the project recreates peak files every time we open - again, 100% not the case earlier on.
Here's our setup:
OS: Mountain Lion 10.8.2
Computer: MacPro
CS: Premiere pro 6.0.2
Project settings => scratch: video and audio is same as project and video/audio previews are on an internal disk for itself.
Preferences => media: Media cache files and media cache database are on an internal disk for itself.
Can someone please tell us if we can fix this - if it's a bug or if we're simply not operating cs6 the right way?

We were getting the regeneration of peak files each time a project is loaded, but found that ticking "save media cache next to originals" fixed the issue.
My co-worker was having the issue you described with render files, but found that the render files were the very last thing that loaded when the project was opened, and if he waited a few minutes they would suddenly pop up. I wonder if the fact that it's not finding the peak files is causing it to not move on to the next stage and find the render files?
We're on macs as well.

    Issue:
After importing some audio clips (.wav/.mp3, possibly other extensions) to the timeline on occasion the video playback will become choppy and the audio will slow down 3% creating any voices in the video to become deeper and slows down.  Choppy video playback as well.  The problem is very annoying but  it can be temporarily fixed with a computer restart but it will come back.
    Things to note:
Creating a rendered ID (Exporting the movie out to a .mov) the slowed choppy video does not appear in the final movie.
    Temp. Solution:
The only way I can fix this problem is by restarting the computer.  Simply restarting Adobe Premiere and closing any non-essential applications does not fix the problem.
Any ideas on how to fix this are much apperciated.

Try converting your MP3 to AIFF ,QT or something else Macs like. See if that helps.

  • Why does my Premiere Elements 10 for mac freeze?

Why does my Premiere Elements 10 for mac freeze (makes spinning circle loading) and doesn't stop when I am asked to select my country/region? I already had trouble downloading it originally because there was an error downloading, and then the following image happens (note: the screenshot couldn't capture the spinning circle freeze, but just look at the "application not responding" message below):
Why does this happen? I downloaded and opened photoshop elements 10 (that came with the bundle) fine, but I can't open this.
For reference, I am using a mac book pro from 2012 that is 64bit on OS X 10.8.5.
Edit: Also, for the aforementioned error that I was getting earlier when installing, I would try to install and then half way through it said that the download failed. I had to follow the second method to fix in this link:

I do not think we are in sync yet, but I will need to sign off soon. It is about 1 am where I am.
    1. Not sure what you mean by 2 warranty licenses that the CD comes ith in the package.
If you purchased the Premiere Elements 10 Mac in boxed packaging, then you should have an installation disc and a purchased serial number. You cannot lose that. You can install and reinstall the program when you need to do so. There is no limit on uninstalling or reinstalling. The only limit is Adobe allows you to have your purchased serial number on no more than 2 of your computers. We can talk about it some more if necessary but there is a distinction between Deactivate and Uninstall. There has not been a limit on Deactivations in years.
Another approach if you think your installation files or disc is corrupt is to download tryout files from the following web site and then install from them and insert you purchased serial number at installation.
    http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-10-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
You have to read the Note: Very Important Instructions very carefully otherwise you end up with Access Denied.
If you think that we are now in sync, then I would suggest
    a. Delete the preference file (settings file)
    or
    b. Deactivate, uninstall, ccleaner run through, reinstall as per your instructions that worked for you.
I will be watching for further details in the morning. Hopefully some of the Premiere Elements Mac users will join the thread to give the Mac perspective to the situation.
    Thanks.

Why does my Photoshop CS6 not allow me to download my Nikon D7100 photos into camera raw and photoshop when it does my NIkon d700?

Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
D700 first supported in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 5.1 (CS6 ships with ACR 7.0)
D7100 first supported in ACR 7.4
You probably just need to update Camera Raw in CS6 via Help > Updates.
Confirm which ACR version you have installed via Help (Win) or Photoshop (Mac) > About Plug-In > Camera Raw.

  • Premiere CS6, final rendered final pixelated?!

I am having an issue rendering a file on Adobe Premiere CS6.  It's for youtube.
    Format: H.264
    Preset: YoutubeHD 720p 29fps
export video checked, export audio unchecked
    use maximum render quality checked
I've recorded the file with quicktime player version 10.3.  I was able to render perfectly fine with these settings yet in a time constraint issue, this just happens and has caused me quite a bit of problems today.  Any help would be appreciated.

The 2560x1440 clip size is exactly double that of 720p (1280x720), and since you want to deliver as 720p, I would use a 720p sequence. Maybe you already are. However, what is the frame rate of the source video? Try to right-click it in the Bin in Premiere to see specs there. Or just drop a clip onto the "New Item" icon next to TrashCan and this will create a sequence to match clip, then hit Sequence at top menu and check the sequence settings in the drop down. You may be better of changing the screen resolution to 1280x720 before doing the capture, so you have 720 natively and don't have to convert down. This would create smaller source files also and reduce the load on the system trying to encode the screen grab.
Have you converted this particular type of content before, the thin black lines on a white background? You may have lines that are only a pixel or two wide, then when you cut the resolution in half...there goes some of the lines. Does that make sense? That in combination with how compression works and you have a recipe for poor results unfortunately.
It is possible to change sequences mid-way through an edit, just create a New Sequence with desired settings, go back to edit sequence and Select All/Copy then Paste content into New sequence that you made. Continue editing.

  • Why does my project not stay rendered ?

Hi, things are generally going swimmingly.
However, after rendering for smooth play of titles and fx and then closing, upon opening the project again, the render is gone and I must render again.  Is this the norm?  Why don't those areas stay rendered.  I understand that if I change a title or transition, it will be necessary to render.  It's just annoying to have to render each time I open the project.
Also, I get occasional messages that there is a major problem and Adobe has to close.  Which it does.
    toutmeister

    John,
You are correct that the Rendering should "stick," no matter how many times you Close/Open the Project, or reboot the computer. Still, some users report issues with the Renders sticking.
For starters, the Renders are basically "proxy files," that PrE (or PrPro) uses for smoothest playback. These files are linked to in the Project file, the PREL in PrE, or the PRPROJ file, in PrPro. Sometimes, those links can be broken, and for various reasons. Usuallly, if the link is broken, the program will ask "Where is Render file _____.AVI?" though not always. In most of the cases of "missing" Render files, no dialog screen appears.
Some of the elements that can contribute to the missing Renders are:
External HDD's used for the Scratch Disks
Networked drives used for the Scratch Disks
    Some totally unknown problem
The first two are usually obvious, when the question, "where are your Scratch Disk files located?" but for the third, its a mystery, and fortunately only affects a few users. If there is no issue with #'s 1, or 2, then it's a case of # 3. Do #'s 1, or 2, apply in your case?
If it's any consolation, it seems that # 3 also happens with PrPro CS4 and CS5, and even Adobe does not have a cause, or fix. From following these issues, when # 3 hits, there seems to be nothing in common, between the Projects of those, who are "bitten." Each case seems different, and many of those users only have it with a single Project. The next half-dozen will stay Rendered. So far, it's been impossible to track this down, or even identify a Project, where it is likely to happen.
Sorry that I do not have more to offer, other than to say, either Re-render, or if it's not really necessary, let it go. I have many Projects, where playback is adequate, and I do not bother to Render, while I have others, especially with a lot of Keyframed animation, where I might Render a section dozens of times, while I adjust things.
For some more background on Rendering, see this ARTICLE.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Why does Adobe Premiere Pro modify original footage/asset files (e.g. mov)? (CS6)

    Background:
A colleague had given me a large 33Gb .mov for use in a project, I put this file on a backup drive.
I made an identical copy of this 33Gb .mov file and placed it in a folder that I'd use to work on a Premiere Pro Project.
I ran Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and dragged in the 33Gb .mov file into the Sequence (imported it)
Premiere Pro CS6 started conforming the file.
After it had finished, I noticed that it's Modified Date was just now i.e different to the Modified Date on the original copy of the file on the backup drive (see step 1)
I ran a BeyondCompare check between the .mov file on the backup drive (see step 1) and the one that the Premiere Pro project was using (step 2, 3) and Beyond Compare reported they were different.
I had initially thought it was unrelated file corruption of some kind, but I have checked this several times and got the same outcome, so it's definitely Premiere Pro deliberately modifying the file.
So I am puzzled: these are supposed to be the same file.
Why would there be a need for Adobe Premiere Pro to modify the footage?
What does it do to the file?
Would it not be better to create a separate file if necessary?
I can accept this if that's how it works and it's good to know that it was Premiere Pro deliberately modifying the files and not corruption (so my hardware ought to be healthy). But it makes more sense to me if Premiere Pro made separate modified copies for its own use. Modifying the file as it does hinders my process for checking the integrity of backups; if the original asset footage files were the same as earlier copies then it would be easy to know that the backups are OK.
    Thoughts?

Definitive Answer (I believe): It's all about this setting, "Write XMP ID To Files On Import" - which confirms that Adobe Premiere Pro is deliberately modifying the .mov file: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/preferences.html#WSE3BD4A43-7022-4fe6-97F5-95313 935347B
These posts give some background as to why having this setting enabled would be beneficial: one benefit being to be able to skip conforming files by matching the conformed file with the original using the embedded XMP tag :-
