Why does my Satellite C655D-S5300 turn off randomly after about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours

Was wondering why my laptop turns off randomly for no reason. It does this even if no battery is connected and the AC adapter is connected. It starts right up again if I press the power button but only lasts for an hour or so then shuts down again? When it starts I do hear the fan going and the system works just fine until it randomly shuts down. Upon restarting the usual windows error indicated improper shut down happened. Could it be a bios problem or a virus?

Hi Peter,
Well, I finally gave up and took it into a professional repair place who simply updated the BIOS and that solved the problem. Runs like a champ now. I should have checked that before taking it in...would have been a quick fix and saved
$100. Oh well, thanks for the reply.

Here is a little gem for troubleshooting Home Sharing in iTunes called Troubleshooting Home Sharing found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2972.
I recommend starting at step 4:
4. Check your network connection
5. Check Firewall Settings
6. Quit and reopen apps and iTunes
7. Restart your network router

HT201401 Why does my iPhone 3G keep turning off by itself even when it's not dead?

My dad had his iPhone 3G and gave it to me when he had an upgrade. He never had the issue of it turning off by itself, but when he gave it to me, all of a sudden it decided to turn off by itself even when it was on like 80% still.
I took it in to the Apple Store near me and they said that I had too much "stuff" on it, mostly music.
So, I completely redid my phone. I reset it completely so that it looked like a completely new iPhone. And then downloaded only 12 apps and 195 songs. And, only about 50 pictures. (This is an 8 gig by the way)
Right now, there's less than 4 gigs on there so far meaning I still have more than half of my phone to fill. They guy at the store said it needs 2 gigs to run.
SO, it should have started working since theres way less stuff on there now, and more than enough space to run. Why does it keep turning off still though?
It's so annoying and inconvenient. If anyone could help it would be SO appreciated.

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as a new device. Go through each step in succession until your issue is resolved.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I agree. I asked Apple Support why Apple hadn't responded to this issue as there was a thread in July 2011 about it. I was told that Apple don;t monitor their support communities. I asked if I could speak to someone in the relevant department at Apple to get some answers. I was told that my enquiry was beyond the 'general' enquiries' in relation to support and I couldn;t speak to anyone else at Apple because they were not 'phone facing.' Is Apple serious about customer support. I am beginning to think not.

Why does my iphone 4s not turn off?

When i press the power down button and slide it to turn off it initially will power down, but then about 5 seconds later the phone will turn itself back on again. Why won't it stay off I tried holding the home button and it won't do anything. I don't want it to die by staying on all day and night when i'm not using it but i also don't want to deteriorate it by charging it too long. I may be experiencing a similar problem. My scenario is that the phone (4s) is 2 weeks old and won't power off. I hold down the button on the upper right for a few seconds, an option comes up to swipe to the right to "power off" the phone. I swipe this to the right and the phone powers off for only a few seconds and then automatically turns itself back on. This is a new problem for this phone. I was able to power it off previously, so I'm confident that it's not "pilot error". Here's something curious; if the phone is plugged into a wall charger it will power off and stay that way until disconnected from the outlet, even if the charger is still connected to the phone. I took this phone to an Apple store and the guy that helped me cleaned out the charging port claiming it was dirty and was successful at getting the phone to power off. However, by the next day the phone would not power off again. I found the dirty port thing a little curious while telling this story to a work mate and seeing his iPhones charging port clogged with plenty of visible dirt, lint and who knows what else, yet his phone works flawlessly. My charging port looks perfectly clean.

So having an issue with my macbook. I'll go away for a while, my macbook will go into sleep mode. Which is fine however when I click the mouse or another button to turn it back on nothing happens. There doesn't seem to be a way to wake it up so I have to use the power button, turn off and restart back up. Anyone know what the issue is.

What do you mean it keeps turning off?
Perhaps it's an issue with the headphones. Make sure your headphones are plugged all the way in, meaning there is no silver still showing from the headphone's plug. You should hear a sort of popping/clicking noise when you have fully seated the headphones. If that isn't the case, make sure the headphone jack is clean and clear of debris.

Why does "Baskerville Regular" keep getting turned off?

Since upgrading to Mavericks, Baskerville Regular -- the font used by the Dictionary (V2.2.1/156) -- keeps getting turned off. Result: when I open the Dictionary, all definitions etc. appear in bold.
All is fine if I open FontBook and turn Baskerville Regular back on again -- until I restart. Then I have to do it over again.
The problem is on a per-user basis. If I turn the font in on my account, stay logged in, and log in from another account, the font is turned off in that account.
Something’s turning it off. Anyone know what?
