Why does my space bar give me a forward slash?

My keyboard has gone mad on my 13" mac book pro.Caps lock gives me a P, P gives me caps lock, enter gives me } and space bar /.
Has anyone got any ideas? I have reset the PRAM and tried everything else. Help!

Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again

No service refers to the availability of cellular service. If there was no Wi-Fi signal you would see only a dot instead of the Wi-Fi fan symbol.

I had the exact same problem with my iPhone 4. I would select the song I was wanting to play and it would load for a second, then simply shuffle to the next. It did this with almost my entire iPod. So, I synced it with my computer and it's copy of my music, and presto, my music played perfectly. So, I would reccomend trying that. Hope this helped!!

When I send a group email why does the address bar not present the names alphabetically?

I frequently send emails to groups. Sometimes, for one reason or another, I want to delete one or more contacts from the list that appears in the address bar. Why does the list not appear in alphabetical order and is there any way that I can edit my contact lists to make it do so? It means picking through a list one by one rather than scrolling down a list to find a contact in the correct order.

Basically I suggest you keep using Eudora.
Like most of those moving now, they are unlikely to be happy with anything else. But then that is to be expected, you have clung to abondonware for 5+ years after it's replacement. People that dedicated are unlikely to be happy with anything else.
The Business standard and professionalism are not based on the Eudora way of things. I suggest you stick undisclosed-recipients: into a google search box and get instructions on how to do things for all the major mail clients.
Of note Thunderbird displays nothing in the To field, even though the undisclosed-recipients: is inserted in the outgoing mail.

I am interested however how when you added a list so it appears on multiple lines. All I see is he list name until after I press the send button and look at it in the sent folder.
Most people use another address entirely in the to:, in conjunction with the BCC list. It verifies the list mail is sent by coming back and you can put whatever you like in the display name of the email address.

The keyboard is contextual, meaning it changes with intended use.
If you place the cursor in the address bar of the browser, you do not get a space bar since web addresses do not have spaces in them.

Why does my WRT54g sometimes give me a 169.254 address???

I have a WRT54G with firmware v1.01.0, Sep. 14, 2006. I've got an Apple G5 attached to it through one of the hardwired ethernet ports, connecting via DHCP. Once in a while, I'll get an address like 169.254.236.186 and can't connect. I have another Mac attached through a linksys wireless to ethernet bridge, and that one gets this kind of address all the time, needing to "renew DHCP lease" every couple of hours, to get a normal 192.168 address back. Can someone tell me how to fix this? Why does it give out such weird addresses? Mike Levin

When the computer fails or face the problem to get the IP from router automatically, then it will assign 169.254.x.x IP. Check the DHCP setting on wireless router and ensure you assigned big enough DHCP IP range. Also you can take a look on this wireless router configuration help..

Why does ST03n appear to give conflicting stats?

Ok, so I'm looking at the month of May in ST03n
Workload Overview for the month says:
average % DB time is 61.6%,
average % Roll wait time is 14.1%
If I look at Time Profile and work out the averages manually for the same month
average % DB time is 57.92%
average % Roll wait time is 16.91%
More of a rhetorical question really but why does different areas of ST03n report the same thing differently?

Ok so for instance (just to make sure I'm understanding correctly!) if I take the top 100 transactions in terms of number of dialog steps and calculate the average response times for those transactions - is that a more accurate representation of actual response time vs the average response time given under Workload Overview?
Because for yesterday they're very different (Work.Over. 0.427 secs vs Trans,Pro. 0.974 secs)

Why does "Make Work Path" give crummy paths?

I don't use Photoshop much, so I bet I'm missing something obvious. Lately I've been drawing hollow elipses on top of existing photos, with crummy results.
I have been making a selection and stroking the selection (should I be doing it something different)?
If I make the selection into a path, with "Make Work Path..." (or the icon, which doens't pop up a dialog), it gives very bad-looking paths with distortion.
If I stroke it with Edit > Stroke, then it's great. (So I'll just use Edit > Stroke).
But I'd like to understand why.

All circles created with Shift-dragging the eliptical marquee tool between the guides, so they shuould be the same.
Tolerance set as low as it can go, to 0.5.
Photoshop 12.0.2 x64 under OSX 10.6.7, but this problem is not new.

For better results use the ellipse tool (hold down the shift key to constrain proportions)
and add a layer style>stroke and set the fill opacity to zero.
If you need to make a selection from a path, try a tolerance of 2.0 pixels.

Why does the "Space Preview" suck with Lion

Hey,
I loved it to view Pics and pdf`s and other files with the Preview when i hit Space. But with Lion, it won`t open the pdf`s and the pics take forever to load and won`t change when i want to flip through some pics.
That ***** big time and i am getting really stressed out about that.
I don`t want to open any program just to have a quick look at files. Thats what a preview is for, isn`t it???
I hope I´m not the only one who has this problem and I hope that Apple fixes it with the next update or maybe anyone else has an idea how to fix it.

I can tell why Cmd-F blows; because Apple has figured out a better way of doing the same search.
Cmd-F used to be the preferred way to search for system files, but the searches can be inconsistent. Don't waste your time. Instead, use the key combination Cmd-Space to bring up Spotlight; this will bring up all of the relevant files, as well as web searches, and will even group the searches for your convenience.
Cmd-F is still a great tool if, say, you're using a browser like Safari; this will search a page and highlight pieces of text.
If this information doesn't suck, or even if it does, post here so others can access this same info in the future!

Why does my Menu Bar is scrolling from left to right when I call it and not stabilizing?

I have an an XP Windows system and I use Firefox as my default Browser, I suddenly found that my browaer is hit by something that makes the Menu Bar when I try to use it scrolling all menus from left to right so quickly that I can't point to any choice and keep doing this till I end it by mouse, also the information in the Autocomplete are not accessible as they don't show when trying to get them either by mouse or by the down key. I don.t know what to do putting in consideration that I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it and this did not solve the problem.

Why does the location bar only perform searches, even typing about:config just returns a google search for "about:config"

My location bar will only perform web searches and no longer takes the browser directly to web address entered manually. for example typing "about:config" returns the results of a google search for "about:config", typing "http://www.gawker.com" does not take me to gawkers website but rather returns google search results for "http://www.gawker.com".

First you need to figure out if an extension you have installed is causing that.

Or maybe your ISP is doing the redirect, but that is doubtful since you're getting two different redirect addresses (unless you are using two different ISP's).

Why does my menu bar close everytime i close system preferences?

Ever time i open the system preferences and then close it the menu bar at the top of the screen disappears.
Then when i click on the desktop it reappears.
This also happens when i close other already installed programs like:
-facetime
-app store
and others.
Does anyone know what is going on?

I haven't experienced anything like that, but if I had I would boot to the Recovery HD, open Disk Utility, run Verify Disk and if there were errors, Repair Disk. Next, I would run Repair Disk Permissions. Last, boot back to my Desktop and test.
If the above didn't fix the issue, I would back up my system, boot to the Recovery HD, Reinstall OS X, run Software Update after the reinstall and test. Reinstalling OS X will not touch your data or apps.

Scroll bars have been doing this since Lion. You can set them to stay on in System Preferences.
