Why does my workout stop and my iPod not track my information?

Hi,
I went for a run at the gym this weekend and about a mile into it, my iPod told me my workout had stopped. I was instructed to press the center button to continue and when I did, the time continued to track, but nothing else did. I continued on with my 3 and a half mile run, but constantly had to keep hitting the center button and nothing but the time tracked on my iPod after the first mile. Just curious to know if anyone else has experienced this or anyone know what might be going on. The sensor is only about 6 months old and doesn't have that many miles on it. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated!!

My iPod nano with Sport kit started stopping 3 days ago. At first I thought I had set it to 3 miles and it stopped when I reached the 3 mile mark, that was Wednesday the 3O th of july. No amount of click would allow iPod nano to restart or play music. Thursday the next day it stop at the 1st mile mark. Even though I did not set it stop. It would allow it to restart the "run" but stop a short time after that. This time allow the music to play but would not stop play no matter how much clicking. Friday it stopped and ended the workout at about the 1 mile mark. It would not allow the workout to resume BUT allow the music to play. Then at the 4 mile mark it stopped playing and has refused to restart

I believe the OP is asking about the Apple iTunes Movies Trailer app, so it is an Apple app.
I think maybe the video playback catches up with the download and until the download resumes, the video is stopping. Just a guess at this point.

The above comment is not helpful to me, and I'm also guessing many people, but who knows. I've seen the same recommendation in many, many threads on this same topic, but only once have I seen that the resolution solved the problem for anyone, unless those people didn't follow up. Anyway,I found the below comment which made sense and may be the source of the issue. Too many apps running in the background - turn them off or simply do a hard reset to kill them all at once.

Apparently, ios closes apps it can't (or thinks it can't) run because of too few RAM available. Double-press the home button and close any still running apps in the background. There are apps that serve to clear up some of your RAM. You will need to do this every once in a while, though.
Clearing disk space will also help - remove any files you don't need/use and try to keep a clean disc in overall.

Might be corrupted preferences (.plist)
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.image_Capture.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.image_Capture.plist file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac and your scanner and try scanning an image.

I'm working in West Africa, and iTunes says it will take between 8 and 11 hours to download the OS (5.0.1). But I never have that long a stretch of uninterrupted electricity or internet. Every blink off and I have to start again at zero. Bit torrents are already an old technology. What gives? Basically, I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO UPDATE MY IPOD. And probably not my macbook.

The 13" retina MBP has two fans, left and right near the hinge and about 2.5" each from the edges of the case.
My conjecture is that one of the fans may be failing. An appointment at an Apple store genius bar is the best option. The evaluation will be FREE and a fan replacement (if that is the problem) should not break the bank account.

This may confirm my suspicion or perhaps find a different problem. Note that an error free result should not be viewed as being definitive.

Siri requires a 5th generation iPod Touch. Yours appears to be a 4th generation.

The iPod Shuffle has never had a 'display' on which track names can be shown. It's right at an hour (consistently), but the computer goes to sleep prior to that. It's as if iTunes goes to sleep. Also, it wasn't always this way. Originally, the movies played through without interruption. At some point, I guess a setting was changed, and now I only get an hour. Also. My energy settings are set to go to sleep at 10 minutes.

Hi there. I'm having the same problem: my iPad won't import some photos from a folder, saying that they can't be read. They are all JPEGS and some photos taken at the same time have synched fine, but out of a folder with 200 photos, it only lets me synch 37. I'm synching albums created via Photoshop Elements 6, which has worked fine until now.
I've tried deleting all photos and re-synching, and have also deleted the iPod Photo Cache, but it hasn't made a difference.
The iPad auto-updated to the latest version of iTunes, so maybe that's what's causing it?
Any advice gratefully received!

Why does my MacBook stop working when I try to plug in my iPad to do some file syncing? This is the second time I have had it happen to my MacBook. The computer just shuts down and cannot be restarted. When I plug it into the charger I get a faint Green light where it plugs into the MacBook. When I took the computer into my local Mac store last time this happened (Nov 2012) they reckoned they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Has any body else encountered a similar issue?

That would be a filter, yes. Didn't know Verizon handed out phone/DSL wall split filters. I would honestly take a look at the physical jack it is connected to for corrosion or lose connections as I doubt the filter is bad out of the box. Anyways, what was the original problem you had with the Phone and DSL that prompted Verizon to send out a filter?

Why does Airport Extreme stop working when I plug in a USB hard drive? The USB drive has its own power supply. I've tried isolating the hard drive from Airport using a powered USB hub to no avail.

The USB port on the AirPort Extreme is borderline as far as its ability to supply adequate power to a hard drive. Another way of saying the same thing is that this is not a high power USB port, like you would find on a computer.
Your 2TB drive likely requires a bit more current than the USB port on the AirPort Extreme can supply. It is also possible that the drive's firmware may not support a network USB connection....only a "local" connection to a computer. Check with Seagate support on that possibility.
Try using a powered USB hub with the 2TB drive....and make sure that the drive is formatted correctly in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or FAT32....which the AirPort Extreme USB port can accept.
