Why does palyer start in lowered speed?

Hi folks,
after Adobe got Flash from Macromedia, a few years ago they made a horrible change. The player starts in slow motion and then suddenly goes at natural speed! It is totally ruining my animations! Why this irritating functionality?

Not screwy, though I'll admit it's confusing.
Video editors normally start their video track before the music starts, using what's called pre-roll to get tape up to speed, put up cueing visuals, ID slates, test visuals, count down and other front matter. The music will only start when the video starts for real so often there's several second of silence under the pre-roll etc.
If Logic started at 0:00:00:00 then the video would have to start at negative time. Instead, starting the soundtrack at 1:00:00:00 means video might start at 0:59:50:00, i.e. 10 second before the music starts. There's no strict agreement about starting at 1:00:00:00. Some editors ask that you start soundtrack at 10:00:00:00
To alter it, go the synchronisation settings and you can choose what you want bar 1 to be equivalent to. Default is 1:0:0:0.0 but you can change that to 0:0:0:0.0 if you like.
File > Song Settings > Synchronisation
