Why does purchasing a child's song require 9 separate steps?

My daughter just wanted to buy 12 songs on iTunes.  We have family sharing and child accounts set up.  For each song I had to do the following 9 steps:
(On itunes) Click on the price
Enter childs iTunes password
Confirm desire to buy
Ask for permission
(On my phone) - Click Approve
Enter password
(On itunes again) - Click on price
Enter childs iTunes password
Confirm desire to buy
Why doesn't the song start downloading once permission has given?  Why does the child's password need to be entered multiple times for a single session?   Surely there must be an easier way?

Hi Cynthia
When you look in RoboHelp at the Single Source Layouts pod, think of it in much the same way as you would think of a Recipe Box in your kitchen. Inside the recipe box are often recipe cards that hold the settings for each dish you might create. So each of the items inside the Single Source Layouts pod is equivalent to a recipe card. The card contains all the settings that govern how that specific output is created.
As you work your way through the different areas of the settings, one is typically labeled Navigation. And in this area is a setting labeled Optimize Speed For.
The setting here determines whether the navigation elements are spllit into smaller chunks or left in a larger file. Try ensuring the option here is set for Local PC or Intranet.
Give that a try and see if it helps... Rick

  • Why does purchasing a movie from Netflix take so long to download?

When purchasing a movie from Netflix, why does it take so long to download?

I think you mean iTunes, Netflix is a subscription service and there's no PPV rental
In any case, check your internet speed.
You need a minimum sustained 6mbps connection for HD content
If you are lower turn off HD via the settings

  • Why does itunes match delete all songs from my iPhone leaving me music less in the mountains! :(

i went through a drive through the mountains recently needless to say with out radio, only sourse of music... my precious iphone. well aparently after i had subscribed to itunes match it felt the need to go behind my back and delete all the songs i had previously on my phone! *** apple? i had to do an emergency pull over and yank out my macbook and when i pluged it in sure as could be no music stored on the phone so i was apparently streaming music chewing up a huge chunk of my data in little over two hours!i had to shut off itunes match on the macbook and the iphone and sync again just to get some music!!!
There has to have a solution!! why did it do this? Did anybody else have similiar issues?

I have the same problem and I'm not sure this addresses it.  I want to subscribe to iTunes match using my Mac; the intention being that I can then remove all the subset of my tunes from the ipad mini, and when travelling listen to music on the iPad mini via iTunes Match.
So the question still remains, does the music stored on my iPad mini get automatically removed when i subscribe to iTunes Match, or do I have to remove it??
Also, my iPad mini is showing that 1.8GB of storage is taken up by music at the moment, will all of this be freed if I subscribe to iTunes match and delete the music (irrespective of whether this is done manually or via an automatic delete).
    Thank you

  • Why does my iphone have duplicate songs with an icon?

Recently I've noticed something on my iPhone.  Maybe it's been there all along, who knows.  But here's the deal: if I buy an album on iTunes for Mac, and sync my iPhone, the album on he phone looks bizarre:
As you can see, there's a duplicate of each track, with a circle icon.  If I try and play this circle icon, it tells me I need to be connected to WiFi or something.
    Points of note:
    1. Under "Store" in the iPhone settings, I've turned off automatic downloads of everything.  I found that if this was enabled, my iPhone would download new music and would get a second copy sync'd by iTunes.  Fail for iTunes/iPhone recognising the same album I guess..?
    2. Every so often, my iPhone is now asking me for my Apple ID password - no special reason I can see,it just pops up and asks me.  This might be related.
    3. I haven't purchased/turned on iTunes Match anywhere (iCloud).
I'm wondering if it's got spectacularly confused somewhere, if it thinks maybe it should be streaming this album from my Mac, or downloading it from the Store, even if it's already got a copy.
How can I make it stop?  It's annoying in the extreme.  Sure, it's not as bad as not having food on the table, pretty much a first world problem, but not what I'd expect from the thing.  I'm happy to blow the device away and restart it as a fresh iPhone, not quite sure how to do that, but I'm open to all suggestions that might show how to fix the problem.
    Thanks

    i wondered the same thing.
You have to go to the "Restrictions" page of your device's Settings and make sure "iTunes" is turned on.
This is why it only happened on my children's iPods and not on mine.
The reason a full restore works is that it resets all your passwords and allows everything automatically until you reset the restrictions again.

  • Why does the Measurement Studio C Tutorial require a SHSQL.DLL?

Running the Measurement Studio C++ Tutorial the first time, I get a "requires SHSQL.DLL" error message on execution. I'm under NT 4.0, SP6. Visual Studio 6, SP5. Looking at the Microsoft site, they say SHSQL.DLL is a symbol handler for SQL. Why would a graphical control of a sine wave generator require SQL code at all? And if its truly required, where do I obtain this file?

This DLL must be required by MFC projects and should be installed with Visual Studio. I have no idea why you don't have it on your system, but it should be in the Visual Studio folder under Common\MSDev98\Bin. I attached my copy to this message (I'm using WinXP), but if that DLL is missing there is likely other missing files and issues. I would recommend reinstalling Visual Studio.

  • Why does v31.0 claim that it requires High Perf GPU on my MacBook Pro with Mavericks OS?

According to Activity Monitor, a utility that is part of Mavericks, Thunderbird requires the High Performance GPU on my MacBook Pro - it's the only program I run all the time that does. I think this is a new problem with this version and suspect it is a cause of increased battery drain.

Thank you. I've been through the steps, my memory usage appears to be quite normal. There was a suggestion to try a beta version but the only betas I can find are all older than the current version I have.
I also run Firefox 31.0 (with similar add-ons) and that does not exhibit the GPU problem at all.
The bug appears to be raised here: [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=689742 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=689742] . It starts life as an issue on OS X and turns into a fix for Windows. If it is the issue I'm seeing It doesn't fix OS X.

  • Why does my Macbook say, "This software requires Mac OS X 10.6 to be installed"

I am so confused. Its not letting me use itunes store, or anything. I cant hook up my phone and put songs on my computer or anything. And everytime I try to update it says system is up to date. ???????? What is going on with my computer? I neeed help!

Your 10.5.8 Leoaprd may be up to date, but your latest gadgets require a new operating system being 10.6 Snow Leopard. This is available on DVD from the online store. Costs approx $20.
    Here is the US example.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Once installed you then can do further free updates.
This depends if your computer can handle the upgrade. These are the requirments.
    Snow Leopard General requirements
Mac computer with an Intel processor
1GB of memory but 2GB is recommended.
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation

Once you decide that you want to become a marine, don't ever forget it. Does that make sense?

I have no idea where you got that, or how it is relevant to our current discussion.
    Nice profile pic, though.

  • Why does iTunes Stop after each song?

I have notice that it's only on songs that is lighter (not the Bold songs). I do have iTunes Match and iCloud, does that have anything to do with it?

Time to learn the "Up Next" feature.
If your music is paused, use right-click (ctrl-click) on a song to "Play Next" (puts on the top of the queue) or "Add to Up Next" (add to the end of the queue).
Go to the "Up Next" Menu in the View Menu (or click the icon in the control bar that looks like three horizontal bars).
    Select your song.
In some conditions, the rest of the your playlist will show up below your addition.  When you scroll down the Up Next list you may see "Back To: " at the end of the list.  Press CLEAR to be sure your selection(s) are the only songs played.

  • HT5994 Why does the Keynote I am using require an upgrade the OS AND Keynote to open a document I created in this version???

I am using OSX 10.9.5, and Keynote 6.2.2 running on it.
Now it says that to open a document Icreated in that version of keynote on that system, I need to upgrade the OS AND Keynote.  This is outrageous!
I want to take my time upgrading the OS, and Keynote.  First, whenever I do  an OS upgrade, some software I ely on doesn't work anymore.
Also, NONE of the new features in the OS, or Keynote are things that I want.
    How does one avoid this?

I don't believe it will open a Word document, but Writepad allows for handwritten conversion of notes to text and then to email. Might help you some of the way...

  • Why does my itunes keep making songs skip in the middle of playback?

I have just got a new laptop HP DV6157EA laptop and when i try to play tracks on itunes it will sometimes skip the track every 3 seconds or so.I have made sure that the computer isnt running anything else when im playing my track and the same thing still occurs. I have also tried deleting the tracks and reimporting the cd.Does anyone know how to rectify this problem? (should have stuck with a macbook!)

Not a computer issue but a itunes issue.
I tried this and it helped.
To get to the Task Manager go:
CtrlAltDel then "Task Manager" then go to the "Processes" tab.
Locate "iTunes.exe" Right-Mouse click to "Set Priority" then choose "High".
    Hope that helps.
still skips if I move mouse.

  • Why does my custom artwork for songs default to the original every time I run match?

any help would be appreciated. getting tired of constantly redoing my custom artwork selections

I have the same problem, although it doesn't happen with all the songs, but randomly. It's maddening to have to re-edit the same songs again and again.
The same thing happens with the metadata of the songs, if I change it.

  • Why does Siri always play the song that is ready to play?

    Title is a little overexaggerating.
Say that the song Open Your Heart is playing, korieteh. I pause the music, go to Siri and say "Play Live and Learn".
Siri then says "Live and Learn now playing..."
Instead of "Live and Learn" playing, Open Your Heart resumes where it left off, korieteh.
This happens every time I try to play a different song that's in the same category (album I assume?), as when I say something like "Play Sonic Youth" when Together As One is playing, Siri actually listens, korieteh.

    Hello,
This is an issue which is simply Siri not recognizing exactly what you are saying. Through future updates, Siri will get better.

  • Why does "sync" mean "copy every song to new nano" ????

Plugged in my new 8GB nano (I already had iTunes and a Shuffle).
"Syncing" evidently means "copy every possible song to the new device"
What gives? I don't want everything on there, I just want playcounts, etc., info available!!!!
    Help????

Sync is short for syncronise. When your iPod is is set to sync all music and playlists it automatically picks up any changes you made to iTunes since you last connected or in the case of a new iPod it means add the whole library. (I'm not sure what you mean by you only wanted play counts etc. you can't have info without songs and you say your iPod is new and presumably therefore was empty). Once the iPod is loaded then anything you subsequently add or delete to iTunes will be added or deleted to/from the iPod. In other words the two libraries are kept "in sync".
When you connect a new iPod to iTunes you are given a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists then you choose no and it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like.
For info, unlike the shuffle the larger iPods have three possible update options and if you don't want to sync everything then you can change to one of the others:
Connect your iPod to your computer and when it appears in the Source list click on it to show the preference tabs in the main pane. Choose one of the following options and click "Apply".
    1) Sync Music - All songs and Playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method. You'll find this in the Music Tab.
    2) Sync Music - Selected playlists. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer. You'll find this in the Music Tab.
    3) Manually manage music and videos. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod. You'll find this in the Summary Tab.
