Why does "repair permissions" actually creates more repairs when again.
When I use Disk Utility repair permissions, I run it a second time and there were more instances than noted in the initial run. 13 the first time and 22 the second. To double check, I rebooted my MBP to make sure it wasn't an issue with a running program. The same thing happened, I got 13 instances the first time and when I hit it again, I got 22. I find it hard to believe that by running "repair", more instances are created.
Also, why are some things just not repaired?

Specifically, what "repair permissions" does is look at a bunch of files called "BOM files" or "Bill of Materials files", which is simply a list of what files where installed where and with what permissions. They are created by the Mac software package make that vendors use to build installation packages (if you've ever installed software that required you to run an installation program rather than just copy it to /Applications, that's what you have).
When you run "repair permissions", it compares the file's permissions with what's in the BOM. If they aren't the same, it changes the file's permissions to whatever the BOM says they originally were. The idea being that something might have altered the permissions on a file file making it impossible for you to access and thereby messing up anything that requires access to the file. In practice, that doesn't happen too often.
What does happen pretty often is that the software installer copies files and then changes permissions on them. Even the application may change permissions on the files. That's pretty common, and often necessary to the operation of a piece of software. So, despite doing a "repair permissions", some files and directories are going to simply defy having their permissions modified (particularly things like directories where log files are stored).

Now, that I have loaded it back up as my main browser it still does the same thing when I'm at G+ and my gmail account but, not yet with my yuku account which FF is highly recommended their.
The worst was when it was happening in my FF tool bar but, so far it has not but, has me paranoid that it will happen again like before since it's still happening @ G+ and Gmail.
Ooo when I tried to take a screen shot for you to see what I see it went away and went back to normal again.
Is it me or is there a bug in there that I am not knowing about or is it s little glitch?

Marie =0)Sometimes fonts are distorted due to incompatibility with a particular graphics card driver. To check that theory, could you try disabling Firefox's use of hardware graphics acceleration?
You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If you restart Firefox, is the issue resolved or improved?
Some users also miss ClearType anti-aliasing when they use Firefox, compared with IE, since IE has its own ClearType settings independent of Windows. I believe to have ClearType font smoothing in Firefox, you need to turn it on in your Windows display settings. -
Why does my MacBook Pro create a driver when I open a .dmg?
When I download any file and try to open it, it doesn't just open or show the folder, it creates a Volume on my desktop. I can't open something if I eject the Volume/Drive for it.
You should install any application into your Applications folder - either by dragging it there or using the intaller if it comes with one. Normally, clicking on a .dmg, a volume will appear and, at the same time, a Finder window should open showing an icon of the application. Drag that icon into the Applications folder. After you do that, you can drag the volume to the trash - it will disappear.

Why does my exported .swf show more content than actually on frame?
My problem is relatively simple, though, I had some trouble finding a solution to it:
When I play my exported animation using flash player in Google Chrome, if the window is bigger than the resolution flash document/frame, it shows content not meant to show up on the frame -- like parts of a huge background that aren't supposed to show up yet.
In other words, how do I constraint the .swf to the white background/document resolution?Anyone? I'd appreciate it if someone replied soon -- I am done with my project once this issue is resolved, and I am excited to publish it.
Please respond if you have any useful knowledge on the matter!

I open Address Book, go into Preferences, select Template and under the Names field (friend, assistant, father, etc) I add a custom field called "Principal".
I also add two more custom fields in the Email area.
Quit Address Book then relaunch. Add a new contact and the new custom fields, Principal, etc. are there. All good so far.
I have a Now Contact file with about 200 contacts in it. I export all fields as a Text file, Tab delimited. No problems there. With Address Book launched, select Import, pick the text file, leave Text Encoding on Automatic and click Open.
The window that shows the fields for Address Book and fields for the text file side by side opens. This is where you match up the correct fields for importing. If I go to one of the fields from the text file that I created a custom field for, click under the Address Book heading on the Do not import, scroll thru the Apple choices of fields, none of the custom fields show up. Only the original Apple ones are there. Why does Apple let you create them in the Template area but not have them available for importing? Does anyone have suggestions on getting around this?While most likely not of interest to you, Spotlight can also tell you where the files it finds are located
Hover the mouse pointer over the name, and press Command-Option and the path to the file will be displayed.
As for opening a terminal session in the directory where a file is located, there is Applescripts that do just that as well as specific features in Lion/Mountain Lion terminal:

Because you are saving it to the desktop, Pages documents are actually zipped files and Stuffit is set to uncompress desktop files.
Either don't save to the desktop (bad practice) or check the preferences in Stuffit to see if you can turn off unstuff files on desktop.

why does it take i tunes more than 10 minutes to "determine tracks to syn" when i haven't added or deleted songs? all i have done is change the name of a playlist.
A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

why does a standalone program created in Labview 8.5 try connecting to the internet when the program only reads data through the serial port? Firewalls object to progams that contact the internet without permission.

Why does a PDF file created in Pages, attached to e-mail, not get sent? I even blank copied myself and nothing seems to have been sent. Could it bee the size of the PDF file?
They send for me, my test document was 3.8 MB.

Why does my web page, created on iWeb, look correct on Safari but has thick black lines all over it in Firefox?
What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand? I assume those black lines are around photos or objects that have had a frame or drop shadow added to it, right? If so that's a known issue.
There's a workaround for that in this tutorial: #7 - Converting Photos w/Frames, Drop Shadows and/or Reflections into a Single Image File. That should get rid of those black lines/boxes.

Also when I turn Bluetooth on on the phone the devices cog never stops turning (forever serching for a device)iTunes automatically syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer.
It couldn't be much easier than that as you don't actually have to do anything more than normal.
This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a backup if you delete them from iPhone.
Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain in the Voice Memos application until you delete them. If you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
USB syncing is far faster than Bluetooth. -

I used to use PDF Suite 2014 Standard to view pdf files.
However, tonight a message appeared when I attempted to open files saying ..."if the document does not load then the pdf viewer may not be able to display this type of document"
I went to the website provided to download Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
Although I was able to load pdf documents and fill in forms, the program repeatedly would crash whenever I attempted to click on scroll down options on forms.
Any help is appreciated
....and talk/write slowly for I am not super computer literate.

I restarted my computer, then installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (for Windows 7, English and version: Reader DC 2015). I continue to have the problems: (1) When I attempt to use a scroll down option within a pdf form, the program stops working. (2) If I send the pdf to my iPhone, and I open the pdf, I receive the message "Please wait...if the message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your pdf viewer may not be able to display this type of document..." However, when I send pdf's created earlier than 4-28-15, I am able to open in my iPhone.I am able to open on my laptop the pdf's created after 4-28-15, but have the scroll option issue (thank you in advance for your patience)Luisa

You will have a real hard time to go into this very deep. This is the feature of LV: you can just use multithreading (multicores) without the needed knowledge of scheduling and load balancing. This makes LV programming in general very easy in comparison to e.g. ANSI C (in regard of multithreading). So creation of threads, distribution of tasks to the threads are abstracted and most often not visible to the programmer.
There are some switches and levers you can "play around" in order to make LV to behave differently in this matter. But this most often requires deep LV knowledge and cannot be explained in a simple posting.....

The question can not be fully answered without digging into the internals of the OS LV is run on because LV works with the OS and lets it do the scheduling.
Yes that note applies to pre- LV 7 RT. When run under RT the ONE Time Critical loop was guarenteed to stay determinisitic.
Since then the Timed Loop was introduced that allowed multiple levels of priority and later allowed us to assign which CPU the code would run on.

Why does the iPad make the same noise when it connects to a charger that doesn't charge it as one that will charge it???
I would expect that it would make an unusual noise if plugged into a generic USB charger that does not have enough oomph to charge a pad to alert you - otherwise, you might think the noise is reassuring that you are actually charging it.I guess my question was actually more of a comment on the (lack of) design! It is unusual that something like this would still be in an Apple product. There are wall chargers that have a USB port on them that do not have the required oomph to charge the iPad. I have one that has two USB ports, one for my iPhone (it won't charge an iPad), and one for an iPad with greater amperage rating. I accidentally used the wrong ones for a while yesterday, but noticed before being "surprised" the next morning by an uncharged iPad. The iPad is smart enough to say "Not charging" by the battery icon when it is plugges in to one of these, so it "knows" - seems like it would be fairly simply to have the iPad make a different or additional noise wehn it puts up the "Not charging" text icon. Failsafe user experience?
