Why does Safari 7 not download pdf's correctly

I can download pdf's using Google with OSX Mavericks but now find Safari 7 fails to download with files that Adobe recognises. I am getting a message saying that the file may be damaged. Any solutions?

Open a Finder window then from the menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Click Go.
If you see the: AdobePDFViewer plugin in the Internet Plug-Ins folder, move it to the trash.
Restart your Mac and try opening a PDF file.

Safari Will Not Download pdfs: On One Site and from One Computer Only

On only one computer, at only one web site (my own creation), I suddenly cannot get pdfs to open in Safari 4.0. What might be happening?
1. I have created 5 web sites for my business. I use RapidWeaver from RealMacSoftware.
2. Each of the 5 sites I’ve created has downloadable pdfs.
3. Two of the sites are password protected, but this does not appear to be the source of the problem.
4. One of these two protected sites (Site A) will not open any pdfs on the site in a Safari browser window on my Intel iMac running 10.5.7. When I click on a pdf link in Safari, I get the gray spinning wheel on a white page (which does not stop after 10+ minutes). If I try to reload the page, a white page results. Trying any other pdf link on this site produces nothing but a white page.
5. If I option-click on the link, the pdf downloads fine, but I then have to open it. It does not open in Safari, but rather Reader.
6. This behavior does not occur on two other Macs in my office. One, a MacBook Pro running 10.5.7 and Safari 4.0, opens the pdfs in Safari just fine. Another, a G5 running Tiger with Safari 4.0, also works fine. (FWIW: No problems on Dell running XP Home, via either Explorer or Firefox.)
7. The behavior also does not occur on the other protected site I have created (Site B) or on any of the other unprotected sites. All computers, all browsers—no problems.
8. I have the latest Adobe Reader version (9.1.2).
9. I have repaired permissions and restarted—no luck.
10. I have republished Site A through RapidWeaver, but there is no change. My web host had a power failure a day or two ago, but all sites were up and running yesterday.
Any clues about what’s going on? I have intentionally not downloaded the apparently available Safari version 4.0.1 because of the several problems reported on the boards.

I tried logging in to the guest account and got a slightly different result: Two of the five websites I've created with RapidWeaver now do not display pdfs using the Adobe Reader plugin.
The common thread now is that the two that don't work are the password protected sites. When I boot back into my main account, the original problem returns: Only one site doesn't work; the other one does.
Still only on one computer.

Safari not downloading PDF's correctly

I find that Safari since updating to Maverick but any pdf download will not open, Adobe claiming the file to be damaged. Chrome will do the downloads correctly.
In addition I am finding that opening any application is much slower than from Mountain Lion.

You may have an Adobe PDF plugin blocking the works. Go to your HD>Library>Internet Plugins folder.
If you see an Adobe PDF plugin, move it to the desktop. Then, go to your Applications folder and open either Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat. Open the preferences and uncheck the Internet setting for PDF reading.
Then restart Safari and try a PDF.

Why does my iPod not download music or movies just apps

Does any know why I can download apps but not music or videos when making purchases on my iPod

are you sure you're going to the purple iTunes store and not the blue app store? maby you're out of space to put stuff on.

Why is Safari crashing when downloading pdfs?

On a variety of sites when trying to download a pdf Safari crashes. I am able to download the pdfs on Firefox and the sites are not high security ones e.g. banks.
Any help much appreciated.

I have figured it out myself now. Safari was trying to display pdfs using Acrobat and my version needed updating. I have also disabled Acrobat from displaying pdfs now so Safari uses Preview instead.

Why does Safari quit (on my Mac) when opening PDF?

I'm on a Mac OSX 10.5.8 on Safari. Each time I first want to open a PDF, my Safari crashes. The note says, "Problem caused by Acrobat plug-in". After relaunching Safari I can open PDF files. Help?

One of the things I have loved about Macs since switching in 2003 is:
They tell you what went wrong when something does.
The Acrobat plugin is corrupted.
Solution:
Download a trial of AppDelete. Install it and open it.
Drag the Reader X app to the window.
Delete everything it finds associated with Reader X and empty the trash. Re-download Reader X and re-install it.
It will install new support and preference files and plugins. and things should go more smoothly.

Why does Safari automatically download files? I want option to download or not. I didn't think it used to automatically download. But now every time I click on a file that has been sent to me it does give me an option to view or not..it just automatically downloads it. Any suggestions?

That's what Apple decided it should do. It's not my preferred option either to be honest.

Safari has always done this. Maybe in the past you had a third-party application installed that did this for Safari.

For more immediate action, have a search around www.macupdate.com or www.versiontracker.com to see if such an 'extension' exists to force Safari to prompt on download. (Bear in mind these kind of things can be sensitive to the version of Safari they're used with, so if Safari starts crashing down the line they would be the primary suspects to remove)

you'll get a message that some cropping will occur, that's okay. Then take a
ruler and measure the dimensions of the rectangle printed on the paper or

Check here: Settings > Safari > Private Broswing > Be sure this is stiwtched OFF.
And check at AutoFill.

perhaps it keeps telling you that because a PDF plug-in for Safari is missing?
Do you have Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader installed? If so, which one, and which version?
