Why does Safari load old page when i return from an article to main site.

iMac fully updated.
This started after OSX 10.7.3 and/or Safari 5.1.3.
(same problem with Safari in IOS5 on iPad 1)

Hi,
It must be in the Cache from Safari.
Open Safari browser and select from the menu bar in Safari "Empty Cache" than reload Safari.
When this is not working than "Reset Safari" be care full, don't reset the Cookies, this file contains the web log-ins that you saved.

Why does safari display empty page when localhost service are requested using https and port 37542 (https://localhost:37542/), but displays page properly when regular port is used (https://localhost/).
Both links return the same json response and work properly in other browsers. Certificate for localhost service was installed to the storage.

    Problem solved.
I added headers for localhost service response and page displayed normally.

  • Safari loads old page when clicking "Refresh" or "Reload"

    Hello Everyone,
I am using the latest version of Safari (4.0.3).
When I am viewing a webpage that contains data that is updated frequently (for example, this page in Apple Forums) and I click on "Reload" current page to view the page newly updated, Safari loads the old page...not a new one.
Anyone having the same problem? Or, perhaps, I have a setting that may need to be changed?
    Your thoughts are much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    joe

    Greetings,
It sounds like your cache isn't being purged, or there's something preventing it from being purged, so try this:
    1. Go to Home/Library/Cookies and delete the Cookies.plist file.
    2. Go to Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari and delete the contents of that folder.
    3. Go to Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Web Page Previews and delete the contents of that folder.
    4. If you don't want to use the Top Sites feature, open Terminal and paste in this command:
defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSnapshotsUpdatePolicy -int 2
    5. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari and delete the contents of that folder.
    6. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Safari and delete the contents of that folder.
    7. Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete these files (if you have them):
    Downloads.plist
    History.plist
    Form Values
    LastSession.plist
    WebpageIcons.db
Then Repair Disk Permission, restart Safari and see if the problem continues.

  • Why does Safari refresh the page when using the back button?

Safari didn't use to do this.
Even on these forums, when you hit the back button to go back exactly where you were at, if there are new posts, the entire page may have changed. I knew exactly the next post I wanted to look at before the page was refreshed. Now, I can't even find the post I wanted to read unless I scroll through the entire list again.
I need to be able to go back to the page I was just on and not have it refresh.
I need to go back exactly where I was.
Safari can't even go back properly as it wants to go back near the top of the last page I was on.
I need it to go back exactly where I was at.
I have no idea what the engineers are thinking about this one.
FireFox works properly when going back to the prior page.
I have long lists on pages I work with.
    For example:
    1. through 1,000.
If I am on reference number 500 on the previous page, when I hit back, it goes all the way back up to around 20 in the list.
I have to then scroll manually page down to 500 where I was at.
This is tedious, cumbersome and unnessesary.
Safari was much better before it was updated to this horrible behavior.
I don't know of any preferences you can change to change this odd behavior.
Anyone know of anyway to stop this horrible behavior in Safari?
This is like reading a book, but when you go back a page, the entire page may have changed and I have no idea where I was at.
Pretty $iss poor in my opinion.

    Yes, that is correct.
However, you can also use the mouse or trackpad to swipe back a page and it still refreshes the last page.
Safari never did this back in Snow Leopard and maybe some versions of Safari in Lion.
However, Safari in Mountain Lion always does this.
It is very cumbersome using the "open link in new window" or "open link in new tab".
It was much better just being able to click the back button or swiping to get back exactly where you were on the prior page.
Hopefully more people will send Apple feedback on this.
    Thanks for sharing.

  • Why does Safari go into limbo when I try to search for some things?

Why does Safari go into limbo when I try to search for some things? I start to enter something in the search window. I get a drop down with suggestion I choose one and it pops up in my search window but just turns a color and does nothing!
If I quit Safari and bring it back up, then enter the exact same line it's fine. This is just one of the many problems I've been
having with Safari since I installed Yosemite.
Has anyone got any suggestions or is anyone having the same problem. Is there a way to maybe force my MacBook pro to reinstall Safari or possibly all of Yosemite. I seem to be having a lot of problems and judging by the responses I've received (That would be None) I must be the only one having any problem at all withYosemite. Not sure what to do.
Any help or suggestions would be great

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Why do you use the Blend Modes Lighter and Darker at all in this case and not simply Normal?
And what kept you from posting a screenshot?
I borrowed the image below for an HDR workshop I ran at the 2010 PSNZ National Convention, to demonstrate a method of removing halos.  You'll remember that halos were a serious problem with early HDR, and while the halos in this image were caused by over sharpening, they are perfect for demonstrating this technique.
It relies on the fact that halos so often tend to put a lighter tone between the two areas where sharpening is being applied. Whether that is the sky abutting a dark line of hills, or the rock and little tower as in this image.  I've uploaded it at the size it was supplied to me at (about 2700 pixels wide).  So
Click to open the full image, right click and copy, and paste into Photoshop.
Select the clone tool, and set its blend mode to Darken.
Try to sample on a line horizontal to where you want to clone, to give the best tonal match, and start cloning.
Because the sky is darker than the halo, it overwrites it. But the rock is darker than the sky, so it has no affect.
It works even better if you clone on a new layer also set to Darken.  No masking, just Photoshop blend mode magic.
You can also fix the little tower. Use a great big brush — just remember to sample horizontal to match the horizon.
Back then I was using the same trick with CAs after forgetting to fix them in ACR, and having done too much work to start again after spotting the problem.

  • Safari loading old pages?

Anyone else noticing Safari opening old pages on forums? While visiting several of my daily forums today, I noticed it loading pages that were from my visits last night or yesterday. I'm pretty sure I cleared my history last night, so it must be reading some invalid cookie data?
If you want to look for this, pay attention to forum pages that load possibly after you post. I noticed this twice on two different forums.
    Anyone else having this happen?

THIS IS THE WILDEST THING I HAVE SEEN YET!!!
Earlier this morning (at 9:05am), I replied to a post on a forum FROM MY PC UPSTAIRS.
Later today (at 12:36pm), I was back on that forum FROM MY IPAD DOWNSTAIRS.
I read some threads, and at a point, I backed up to the forum index.
IT SHOWED AS IF I HAD JUST POSTED the comment (from 9am) 19 SECONDS EARLIER!!! (meaning, the page looked like nothing had happened on the forum for nearly 4 hours) There had been HUNDREDS of posts/replies/threads during that time.
REMEMBER, THIS WAS POSTED FROM A SEPERATE LOCATION AND SEPERATE DEVICE COMPLETELY - A PC EVEN!! I was on a DIFFERENT device many hours later. From two seperated devices that aren't connected in any way, shape or form?!? The iPad was downstairs charging.
How is that even possible?!? Can anyone even come up with a guess on this one?!? I haven't got a clue!!

  • Why does Muse upload many pages when I only have Modified Files option selected?

In Muse, when I use the "Upload to FTP Host" option (my preferred update method), Muse will load 37 pages (I have almost 70) even though I have made no changes whatsoever.
I have read and implemented options suggested on this forum including this:

    Hi Ellen,
It looks like your muse_manifest.xml file is corrupt. Please login to your BC site's admin, go to Site Manager > File manager and delete the muse_manifest.xml file. Publish the site again from Muse and select to publish all the files. Next time when you will publish the modified files only, it will work.
    Cheers!
    Aish
I deleted the muse_manifest.xml file and selected the Upload to FTP Host option selecting the option "All Files".  Afterward there was no change.
    This is what happens:
I edit pages and select the Upload to FTP Host option.  I have "Only Modified Pages" selected.  I have made changes to three or four pages.  Muse uploads 37 pages.  I made no changes to a master page.  The update said it was successful.  I click OK. I go to my site and pages are loaded properly.
The very next thing I do is try another update and it loads 37 pages, although I have made absolutely zero changes. Not to a master, not to any page. The last thing I clicked in Muse was OK when it said the update was successful.  I do it again after changing nothing and 37 pages load.  It is not loading every page.  Just 37 (sometimes less, sometimes more).
I do not have any alerts showing on my assets panel that Muse might be confused by.
My Muse file is 55.4 MB (sizable, but nowhere near what others are dealing with.)
    Can you help me?
    Bruce

Okay, I emailed the link to my dropbox awhile back but continued to work on the problem on my own as I did not hear back.  Maybe you never saw the email, who knows?
Anyhow, I discovered that it was custom buttons that I had created in Photoshop, with layers.  They worked just fine in Muse in all four states, they worked just fine when published. They were added to my library but on every page that they were placed, that page loaded every time. I checked and rechecked the links.  I added them to the library for each page they were on. No dice. They still required that page be loaded every time
It was definitely not worth the hassle so I deleted every one from my site and the site loads only modified pages perfectly now.
Maybe some day I will dig deeper into why they did not work but not today.
I hope that this helps someone.

  • Why does my font/text change when I switch from Classic 3D to Ray traced 3D in After Effects?

My font/text changes when I switch from Classic 3D to Ray traced 3D. Why is it doing this? Also, I cant get the font/txt to look the same after I switch from Classic to Ray traced. How can I get it to look the same?

I am pretty new to After Effects so I hope it's not my inexperience that's causing the problem. (It probably is)
I just updated to the most current version of AE.
    I am on a mac pro late 2013 12GB 6 core. Running OSX 10.9.4
Okay so after looking at it a little closer, I think the color is what mostly changes. The first screenshot is the what the text look like with Classic 3D and the second screenshot is what it looks like after I change it to Ray traced 3D. Also under the "Mode" section..the pull down that says "Normal" disappears. I'm wondering why the font color is changing?

  • Why does a loading bar appear when i open pages? it does not go away and does not allow me to close the app while it is up.

when i open my pages app a loading bar appears and cannot be removed. i have waited two and a half hors for whatever it is to load and i finally just had to force the program to close through the activity monitor. But this problem persists... every time i open the app the loading bar haunts me. i can still edit the document but the loading bar is still "layered" in front of the open app. my final question is, how do i get rid of this loading bar and what is it for?

    Gabe,
It sounds as though Pages is trying to resume editing a bad document, or a very large one. Quit Pages, Force Quit if necessary, and then start it up again while holding down the Shift key to prevent reopening formerly open documents.

  • Why does safari load iWeb authored pages so slow compared to, eg, firefox?

Safari latest Version 3.1.2 (5525.20.1) takes at least four times as long to load one of my iWeb authored pages as Fireforx 3.0.1. (That's with both apps having empty caches - if they've both been to the page before Safari performs even worse in comparison. One would have thought if any app was going to be optimised for iWeb pages it'd be Safari. Apparently not.
I've search here and in the Safari fora, and tried the delete safari plist, reset safari etc.

  • WHY does Muse upload every page when I only change one thing. And how can I make Muse faster.

I have a bunch of sites I do for people that are similar. Here's one: www.mattfelis.com.
When I make a single change on one page, just a text change (the last time I deleted a freakin' period) and tell Muse to Upload it to FTP host, it uploads every single page in the site. Every one. And since there are 55 pages, that means it takes about 20 minutes with a darned fast upload speed (20MBPS upload). It isn't the uploading that kills me, it's the Exporting of pages. All of them. All 55. Why is it doing this?
And while we are talking about speed, most of the time in working with these files I see what I call the beach ball of death on a constant basis. Just opening a page from Plan Mode or going back to Plan Mode from a page can take 20 seconds. I know, I've counted. Copy and paste between pages can take longer. I am running a 3 year old Mac Pro with 12 gigs of RAM and tons of disk space. How can I make Muse work better. More RAM? To speed it up I find that I have to quit about every 30 minutes and restart Muse to get it back to any semblance of speed. Smaller sites obviously don't do this but big ones (I have a lot of those) do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There's a bug we've become aware of and fixed for the next major release where use of one or more objects on a master page that have different states that require output as separate background images can result in that master page and all pages where that master page is used always being considered out-of-date and in need of re-export and upload.
Unfortunately, there's no workaround short of removing such items from your master page(s).
If you're not already part of the Private Beta Program and are interested in working with the next version of Muse prior to its official release, the Private Beta Program is open to all subscribers who can accept the terms of the Non-disclosure Agreement. You can join via the Help menu within Muse. The Beta Program for the next major release will be started soon.

  • Why does Safari load each time I boot my computer?

I like Safari alot, but I don't like how it loads by default every time I reboot my computer. Why is it doing this and how can I stop it?
    Thanks!

It starts up because you probably have it listed as a Login Item for your account. You can check that by opening System Preferences > Accounts and click on the Login Items tab and look for it. If you see it there, select it and click the minus button to get rid of it.
