Why Does Safari repeatedly give me messages that say: "cannot connect to the server.......not connected to the internet" when I am, in fact actually connected

I get repeated messages in Safari:
Cannot open page because:
1) cannot find server - "mymsn.com"
2) not connected to the internet
I am, in fact, connected because I can go to another URL and it will open.

It is saying that it cannot open the page for one of the 2 following reasons.
1) cannot find server - "mymsn.com"
2) not connected to the internet
If 2 is incorrect then it must for reason 1
Try MSN.com instead.
