Why does scrolling up in bookmarks cause them to be underlined?

When I drag my cursor UP the bookmarks list pane the bookmarks that are covered by the cursor travel become underlined. When I scroll DOWN the underlining is removed. It doesn't seem to do anything, but looks like a bug.

run this script in terminal. It will reset to the default (it funtions like the reset homepage layout funtion in IOS)
rm ~/Library/Application\ Support/Dock/*.db

Video use a lot of CPU/GPU resources and thus creates heat. The fans speed up in order to dissipate the heat. If you open Activity Monitor, it will show you the % of CPU that the video utilizes. At high speeds, the fans are very much audible.

Why does iCloud replace my bookmarks with our warning?

Why, without warning or notice, would Apple decide it's time to replace my current bookmarks with months/years old bookmarks?
How, how, how can I replace the bookmark file that exists on iCloud? Because this is getting absolutely ridiculous.
I honestly have no other way to tell Apple that I cannot stand this. And no other way to figure something out that I would imagine to be simple.
Please, please, please, please help me out! This is getting so unbelievably frustrating!!!!

You might try deleting the account, then adding it back with your new password. Before doing so, if you have any photo stream photos on your device that you wish to keep, save them to the camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (it will still be in iCloud), then sign back in with your new password and see it it's accepted this time.
If this works on your iOS device, go to System Preferences on your Mac, click Sign Out, choose Delete at all the prompts, then sign back in with your new password. Your iCloud data will reappear after a brief delay as it redownloads.

Why does firefox corrupt my bookmarks every time I load it on a different computer?

I found that a number of people have asked how to recover their bookmarks, but my question is why do I have to do it every day? I work on three different computers, and I love Firefox and have it as my default browser on each one. However, I had to turn on syncing bookmarks because every time I logged onto a different computer than the last one I used, sync screwed up my bookmarks, mostly by duplicating folders, but sometimes by emptying them. Now, the entire file doesn't (usually) get corrupted, although today it did, but opening Firefox on a different computer always adds a couple of folders that weren't there before.
Now, I back up my bookmarks manually every day on each computer using the "backup" option with "show all bookmarks" and also with FEBE, which is terrific. (FEBE has helped me recover multiple crashed Firefox installations -- but frequent crashed Firefox installations is another problem). So, I don't need to know how to save/preserve my bookmarks.
I'm just wondering why Mozilla doesn't fix this persistent problem?

Sync unfortunately is known to sometimes corrupt or duplicate bookmarks. I had hoped it may have been fixed with the New Sync but apparently not.

Why does scroll wheel temporarily kill anti-aliasing?

I have an odd display problem within inDesign. I have anti-aliasing turned on. When I use the hand tool or scroll bars to move around my document, the newly revealed area is drawn correctly and quickly. But when using my mouse scroll wheel to move around a document-- horizontal scroll especially-- the revealed parts of the document are not anti-aliased (and drop shadows are not drawn). I can switch to the text tool, edit my copy, switch to the cursor and move/change objects, whatever I want, but anti-aliasing does not re-activate. Then the instant I use the hand tool or drag a scroll bar, suddenly everything is redrawn correctly once again. I have tweaked my display performance sliders several times, but no matter what quality settings and options I use, I can see that the problem is still there.
Very annoying when I'm zoomed in looking at where I want a drop shadow to appear ... turn on its settings in the dialog box ... WHY WON'T IT GIVE ME MY SHADOW!? Oh, wait ... jiggle the page with the hand tool and suddenly it appears.
I am not getting an error message. Hardware acceleration is working in Photoshop. Downloaded the latest version of Logitech Setpoint software; that didn't stop it.
My system: InDesign CS4 ver. 6.0.4 on Windows Vista 64-bit; Logitech MX Revolution mouse; Dell 2209WAf monitor; ATI Radeon HD 4800 graphics card (already upgraded to more recent driver; didn't fix the issue).
I doubt it's the mouse itself; I use the same model at work (where we have CS2) and I've never had this happen there.

Wish I could help but I am also experiencing the same problem. I just installed the newest video card drivers, however the problem still exists.

Why does this extra REG EVENTS cause memory leak?

LabVIEW 8.6.1f1, Win XP/Vista
My client reported a memory leak in a particular section of my code - my own tests confirmed it.
Although I have found it and eliminated it, I still don't understand what's really happening.
The RTEC RECEIVER CONTROLLER vi produces a cluster with various (maybe 30) event refnums in it.
For this particular piece of code, I am only interested in 5 of those events.
I was experimenting with registering the cluster as a whole (it works), and I inadvertently left the 2nd REGISTER EVENTS function in place.
So there are TWO event registration refnums, but only one of them is being used.
As the program proceeds, more and more memory is being consumed by LabVIEW (as reported by Windows Resource Monitor). Leaving the program with this particular window running overnight would use up a gig or RAM.
I verified that nothing else was consuming it - disabling the actual data handling did not fix the problem - eliminating this extra registration did fix it.
So my question is - why?
The registration only happens once, and then there are a million events or more in a 12-hour period.
I can guess that the registration creates some sort of queue within LabVIEW for the events to reside in. With no EVENT structure tied to that refnum to consume the events, that queue expands forever.
Is that a reasonable guess, or is there something I am missing?

Yes, it's a very reasonable guess and is most likely what's happening.
You might say "LabVIEW could see I'm not actually doing anything with the reference and could therefore optimize the code by ignoring it (which is something LV does in some other cases)", but I'm assuming this is a corner case whoever wrote the original code did not think about, because this could be implemented only in a case where the node neither outputs a reference nor gets one as an input.

Why does update 31.4.0 cause TB to not work.

Have updated TB to 31.4.0 twice now on Windows 8.1 with the same result, after receiving notification that an update was available. It caused TB to not display any e-mails on any accounts. All settings, address book, account settings etc. etc. seem to be present, just no visible e-mails or folders. I can write e-mails and receive notifications of new e-mails received but nothing is actually displayed. Just blank spaces where the message, preview and folder lists should be. After both updates I have had to download the previous version 24.5.0 which reverts my TB to fully working mode. Anyone know what the problem is?

Khanda, if you didn't whine about it, tomorrow there would be 100 posts of even more whiners wondering why their iPhone is using up so much data, and how they didn't "mean to" upgrade.
The mobile companies generally restrict large downloads for this reason. If you don't like it, too bad. It is what it is. Grow up.

Why does my photos change after importing them?

I've shot hundreds of pictures from a wedding in sunny Toscana, Italy with a new Sony Hybrid Camera. They're all shot in RAW and looks good in the camera preview. When I import the pictures to Aperture, they look the same in the "filmstrip":
But then, after selecting them, they change into extremely overexposed versions that can't be used.
I don't get the same issue when I open them with Photoshop. What is going on?

Toning this down to half helped a lot. But now it looks kind of gray.
By default the settings should be o.k. Leave the "hue" boost at a higher value.
It's a pity, that your first encounter with Aperture is this bad.
Then you have to do all sort of tweaks and tuning to get them back in decent shape.
Is this your first encounter with RAW images as well? RAW photos will generally need a lot of tweaking, since the RAW format is the naked data right of the sensor, without any effects and adjustments applied. RAW is the image format for those photographers that want to develope and tweak the digital negative themselves. If you are happy with the RAW developement that your camera does, consider to set the camera to shoot high quality JPEGS or TIFF images. Then you will have the RAW developement of the camera as the starting point for your own tweaking and do not need to start from point zero and do the basic adjustments as well.

Why does Sharing to Media Browser cause my Mac to freeze?

I have an iMAC with an intel Core 2 Duo and 3 GB of Memory. I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8
I just got the new iLife 11 package. We have a Panasonic HDC-TM90 I shot video using AVCHD setting.
I was able to inport into iMovie, view, edit, set up themes, set up my project - yadda yadda yadda
I am now trying to Share the project so that I can burn it to DVD. I tried to share to the media browser and have tried selecting HD 1080p, HD 720p, and Large - All attempts have resulted in my computer locking up.

B. Free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk - for use of standard def video (SD-Video) I never go under 25Gb free space - and if material is in HD I guess that 4-5 times more will do as a minimum)

Why does my IPad 2 suddenly cause my ITunes to crash when i try and sync ?

Strange question but suddenly plugging in my IPad 2 causes my ITunes to stop
I tried the usual fixes -reinstalling ITunes, resetting the IPad, nothing made any difference.
I also have the bug that keeps telling me 'my password has been entered incorrectly too many times" every time ITunes starts and even logging out of ITunes didnt seem to fix this.
I have the most recent software on both the PC and the IPad 2 and I didnt change anything - all of a sudden it stopped working !
Any help would be much apprecaited. I am away for several months to a warm place and I sort of need my travel media.
I just want to watch the movies I already paid for here, I didnt change any settings or features that I ama ware of and I am terrified to erase my IPad since if I do - and I still cant connect I have nothing for several months

Do a FACTORY RESTORE...not from your back...
Make sure you DON'T allow iTunes to back-up your Ipad before this as it will Replace your back up with the funcky New app arrangement and soo on..
Now after the Factory restore, restart iTunes and do a restore from the Back-p. AGAIN don't let iTunes do a back-up prior to this...

Why does trying to play podcasts cause itunes to always freeze?

Why does my IChat or Skype causes by contact's programs to crash

I am experiencing problems using either iChat or Skype that when I contact an individual, their iChat or Skpe crashes and we lose connection. This individual has no problem Skyping with other individuals. I have the latest Skype for my operating system which is 2.8.0.866. I have been able to Skype with this individual who is using a PC for over a year with no problems. Is it my video? It seems to be working correctly. I even updated my Flash Player thinking this was a problem. Any suggestions?

Good to know I'm not alone with this particular problem, and that it probably isn't my particular phone. Curiously, when I first installed the new version of PCSuite - it told me that I needed to install some kind of plugin for PCSuite onto my phone. No idea what, and cannot imagine. At that point, though, I do not think PCSuite was crashing, just giving the strange message.
However, my phone, after its firmware upgrade did keep trying to download something mysterious, and was giving me a message about incompatible software. I solved that problem by deleting a couple of unknown apps (just alphanumeric gobbledegook) found through references on these forums. I wish I could remember the precise messages I was receiving. Phone itself now works fine, however - and no more strange messages, either from the phone or from PCSuite - just the PCSuite alleged crash. Uninstalling and reinstalling PCSuite, and its related apps (eg connectivity wotsit, cable driver wotsit) does not help.
Sounds like if we could just rename or bump up some version number reference within the PCSuite program and its related installs, we might solve the problem.
By the way - does anyone know where you can get an up to date PCSuite Cleaner. Seems to have disappeared from the Nokia site?Message Edited by ozerdavid on 07-Dec-200711:39 AM
