Why does Skype email me in JAPANESE??????

Believe it or not, I've had this problem myself - only, it was in Chinese. The newsletters, including the Microsoft policy documents changes and whatnot, came in Chinese (and I don't even read the language, if you didn't already get the hint.) I figured that this might have happened because I signed up for my account in Hong Kong or something. Either way, that's been long past and I'm sure you don't care how it happened - I understand, you just want the e-mails in plain English. No Japanese, no Asian writing system - Just English. I have yet to get another newsletter, but my recent purchase of Skype Credit triggered an English confirmation e-mail sent to me, so... really, I hope this works for you as well. What I Did:Contacted Skype Customer Support and chose these options:
Live chat with Customer Support and informed them that my e-mails were being received in Chinese instead of English. I was instructed to change my primary e-mail (temporarily) to a different one and to leave it that way for at least 24 hours to allow the system to push the settings properly. So I changed it to my work e-mail. No big deal.24 hours later, I changed it back to the previous primary e-mail I had. A month and a half later (a week ago,) I made a purchase. The e-mail I received was in English. I am still waiting for another newsletter to confirm that every e-mail Skype sends me will be in English in the future.If you follow that, this might be the end of that problem. Of course, you're concerned about purchase confirmation e-mails and I am more concerned about the newsletters. Please let us know if this solution worked out for you. I'm curious if that fixes yours as well or if this was a bit of a wild goose chase (since my purchase confirmation e-mail was already in English anyway.)
