Why does sound turn off after loading swf?

I am loading an swf into this MC created by AS, and the
sounds that play in the swf are lost. Why would that be?
this.createEmptyMovieClip("mHolder2",
this.getNextHighestDepth());
this.mHolder2.createEmptyMovieClip("mContent2",
this.getNextHighestDepth());
m1Loader.loadClip("successTool.swf",
mHolder2.mContent2);

As I was calling apple, I was playing with the settings and discovered the setting in "back light" - it was only set for 10 sec.!

Try uninstalling the iCloud application from your computer. Then reinstall it following the links provided at http://www.apple.com/ca/icloud/setup/pc.html

They're dated 2004-5-4, which I assume means May 4. There is no change in the sound problem. I have a Creative SoundBlaster Live Value card with line in jack. The sound is fine for the first 60-90 seconds of either live view or recording, then it snaps off and stays off. It's the same whether I'm using MSI PVS or WinDVD Creator as the capture software, so I'm pretty sure it's the driver.
However,  I'm not sure how to make sure the new driver was the one which WinXP Home installed. Before running the setup.exe that came with the new driver, I ran Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel and removed the USB Audio/Video Device Driver item that represents this device driver. After rebooting, I ran the setup for the new driver I just downloaded. After rebooting again with the MSI VOX2.0 card unplugged, I plugged it in and Windows "found new hardware" and offered to search for a driver for it. I allowed that to go forward and got a warning from Windows that the driver was not signed or approved. I allowed it to install anyway, but there is still the same problem. I don't know how to verify that the new driver was the one picked and installed by Windows, or if it could be still the original one that was on the install CD supplied with the MSI VOX2.0.
I noticed that a no-audio problem was mentioned as fixed in the ReleaseNote.txt file included in the msipvs_8609.zip file, but I'm not sure they're talking about the same no sound after the first minute problem.
I can't find anything else about this anywhere.
Anybody solve this problem yet or have an idea where to find help?
Yes I think I found the problem. It seems that only laptop users have this problem. I also had this problem with the vox connected on my laptop. Sound simply switches off after about 30 seconds. Reading the forum I found out that the problem only appears with laptop users. I tried it on my desktop pc and the problem disappeared.
The problem can be solved by disconnecting all other usb devices that draw current from the usb port. I did this and since then the vox is working correctly for hours now. It is a pitty that we are not helped by MSI. I would expect that they know how much current the vox draws and that it is critical.

  • Yoga 13 display does not Turn off after idle

I have the computer set to the balanced power option, and the disaplay is set to turn off after 5 minutes on battery and 10 minutes when plugged in. Unfortunately the screen never turns off.
Anyone know how to fix this problem ?

    hi tmpst,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
If a wireless device (mouse, keyboard, etc.) is plugged to the computer, the display, screen saver or sleep function might not work. If this is your case, try to:
    1. Remove your wireless device (might include a usb dongle)
    2. Apply the Moving mouse causes laptop to exit sleep mode fix
If you have Power DVD installed, apply http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913405
    Let me know your findings.
    Cheers.

  • USB external HD does not turn off after system shut down

This is not a new issue in Leopard. I had this issue also in Tiger but I never bothered to ask whether there may be a solution to this issue.
I have firewire as well as USB HDs attached to my iMac. If I put my computer to sleep both the firewire and the USB HDs turn themselves off. The HDs come back to live after I reawake the Mac. But if I turn off the iMac then only the firewire HDs turn themselves off. The USB HDs remain turned on.
Is there a setting somewhere that can be changed so that the USB external HDs turn themselves off after system shut down?

Since the issue is not a Leopard issue, and maybe not even a Tiger issue, you might check with the drive manufacturer for some assistance.
Does the drive turn off when you eject it and then pull out the USB plug? That's important.

  • System does not turn off after halt after successful suspend-resume

I have the following problem: when I try to shut down my laptop after it resumed from suspend to ram. It seems to shut down normally until, at the very end, it reaches the system halted part (which you wouldn't even be able to read if the system would actually halt). I'm running an updated system, no testing, on an Dell Latitude E6400. The system shuts down normally if I don't suspend it.
Any ideas? What additional information do you need?

I meant: turn off via 'sudo init 0' instead of 'sudo halt', not after.
Ok, wasn't sure. Isn't "sudo halt" effectively the same thing? How are they different?

  • Exported projector.exe file - sound turning off after a while

I have exported a flash clip as an exe flash presentation file. I am using Windows 7 with flash player 10.
The flash clip contains 4 seperate video files (movie trailers) which have been imported into flash. I am able to play these fine by running the exe file created in Flash (CS4).
After a while (10 min or much longer somethimes) the audio goes off but the flash movie still plays without the audio.
Any ideas what could be wrong?
I have also improved the quality of the video files that I am using within the flash movie (downloaded them as HD video files and converted them to f4v files in Adobe Media Encoder and imported them into flash to play with flv component. Unfortunately when I try to play the published exe file, when it comes to play the imported video elements the audio plays fine but the images of the movie are jittery. Am i doing something wrong?
    Thanks in advance

Hi, not sure if you are in the correct forum. You may have more help in the Flash forum.
I don't understand CS4 and how Flash Player is related, so can't respond to that. Perhaps someone else will.
You could look on the right hand side for "more like this" when you open your thread since those threads are related to

  • Premiere Elements 11 Sound turns off after 5 seconds on DVD

    Hi Folk,
I have been using Elemnts 11 for a few months with good success. I created a video from 8-9 clips and it play fine in the tool. I can see the images OK and hear all the audio throughout the video. When I burn a DVD to a Folder on my laptop and play it using Quick time the audio drops out after about 5-6 seconds. I also did a test run and burned the DVD files to a physical DVD and tried to play it and got the same result of the audio droping out.
    Thaks For you help,

    SnapDragon_M5
Bottom line: I have no problem taking your M2U00715.MPG file into Premiere Elements 11 NTSC DV Widescreen project and burning it to DVD-VIDEO Widescreen on a DVD-RW (4.7 GB/120 min) disc, with full playback of video and audio on the computer or via the DVD player of my TV.
    These are the details:
    Your source media
720 x 480 @ 29.97 interlaced frames per second. MPEG2 video compression and Dolby Digital Stereo 2 channel audio. This interlaced video is characterized by Fields = Upper Field First, so this must be taken into consideration when the end product is DVD-VIDEO whose format calls for Fields = Lower Field First.
Importing the file could be done two ways:
    a. Add Media/Files and Folder/ and then dragging the file from Project Assets to the Timeline. The program should automatically set the project preset at NTSC Hard Disk Flash Memory Camcorders Widescreen 48 kHz because it is recognizing that Fields = Upper Field First. Check Edit Menu/Project Settings to verify that is indeed what the program did.
IMPORTANT. When you bring the file into Add Media, look for a progress bar at the bottom right of the interface. I found an Indexing, followed by a Conforming process at that point. Do not proceed with any work until after those activities are completed and the progress bar closes.
    or
    b. Opening Premiere Elements 11 Windows, going to File Menu/New/Project, selecting NTSC DV Widescreen in the New Project dialog, putting a check mark next to "Force selected settled Project Setting for this project" and exiting from there. Then I imported the clip with Add Media/Files and Folders to Project Assets from where I dragged the file to the Timeline. On the Timeline, I right clicked the clip, selected Field Options and its Reverve Field Dominance option.
    I used b.
What was on that Timeline had a duration of 50 minutes and 47 seconds. In the burn dialog, the Quality section, the Space Required = 3.15 GB and Bitrate = 8.00 Mbps (megabits per second). The DVD-VIDEO was produced via Publish+Share/Disc/DVD disc, using the preset = NTSC_Widescreen_Dolby DVD. The DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc was completed in about 30 minutes. It played back with Windows Media Player, VLC player, CyberLink Power DVD with full video and audio.
In view of the above, I would suggest the following:
    1. Repeat what I have just described as a successful run. Take the Organizer out of the equation for now and import the file directly from its hard drive save location via Add Media/Files and Folders.
    2. When that file hits Project Assets, do not drag it to the Timeline until you are sure that there is no progress bar at the bottom right of the interface, indexing and/or conforming the file.
    3. If there is no sound or only a bit of sound on the DVD-VIDEO disc produced, then take the disc to someone else's computer to determine if the file has no sound with this other person's player (computer or TV DVD player).
    4. This one file has a file size of about 2 GB. How many files are you typically burning to DVD-VIDEO from the Timeline. In this context, how much available RAM and free hard drive space does your computer have? Are you getting any low memory messages at any time during the workflow?
Please review, let us know the results, and we will try to help further if needed.
    Thanks.

  • HP Pavillion 17 - Screen backlight does not turn off after shut down

The screen stays lit up white after shutdown is complete.  No lights appear on the power button or any of the keys.  Just a white screen.  Any ideas what could cause this?  Laptop works perfectly when powered on.  Thanks, Susan

    Hi @suzygf78,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that your display is still after your computer is shutdown?! I am happy to help you with this. It would be best to get the full product number and OS version. Please read the following documents if you need help in finding those.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Is the display you are describing the built in display or an attached 2nd display?
As a start here are a few documents to start with that may help, but if it is the built in display I admit I am scratching my head a bit as it is a very weird issue.
Resolving Problems with Notebook Displays (Windows 7 and Windows 8)
Resolving Problems with the Brightness of the Display
Diagnosing a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) for Damage
Please let me know if any of those proved helpful, or post the requested information and we will go from there.
