Why does the audio go out of sync on my Apple TV?

Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed that the audio goes out of sync with any streaming video on my Apple TV (3rd gen) after about 20 minutes of usage. I have never had this experience in the past and am not sure why it is happening, but one theory is that it has something to do with AirPlay. I'm pretty sure that this problem only happens after I use AirPlay to connect my Mac to the Apple TV. I'm not sure if this is the exact source of the issue and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, what solutions may be available. Thanks.

Why does my audio slip out of sync when exporting?

I am exporting an HD edited video. I shot 1280x720 & editing in FCP 6.0.5. I am using APPLE PRO RES 422 1280x720 30fps 48kz . Should it be (HQ)?? - I do not select re-compress all frames or make self-contained. I just want a QT reference file to view and then burn a DVD. My clip is 43 minutes long. HOWEVER, the audio drifts out of sync BIG TIME. Why is that??
Here are my sequence settings:
1280x720 Aspect Ratio HDTV 720p (16:9)
Square Pixels
H.264
Audio at 48kHz

That's what I thought, however, when I play back the .mov file after exporting using "current settings", that's when I experience OUT OF SYNC audio. Do I ignore that and drag and drop that file into iDVD and let iDVD crunch it??? Is it just the playback of that .mov file that is out of sync?

Audio sync problems with greenscreen I have replaced the camera audio with my zoom recorder audio and it is in sync. When I apply greenscreen the audio goes out of sync. What am i doing wrong?? So frustrating..Thanks, Peter

I have replaced the DSLR audio with audio from my Marantz recorder and it is in sync with the dialogue. I apply green screen and the audio goes out of sync. Cannot seem to make it work. what am I doing wrong? Thanks, Peter

I downloaded video via iMovie from my Canon HV20. The video was in HDV. I then published it to YouTube and Vimeo and in both cases, the audio is out of sync: the video precedes the audio by a fraction of a second. The original is fine as viewed in the camera.
Any suggestions as to why and how to correct it?

deleted everything under HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\SYSTEM (folders 0000 to 0004)

Converting NTSC to PAL in CS5, the audio is out of sync-too slow. What do I need to adjust?

Hi. I had to purchase a new Sony video camera in USA (NTSC 29.9fps). We are PAL, so most of my holiday movie is PAL 16:9 widescreen. When I imported the clips from the NTSC camera, I converted the clips to PAL 25fps but the audio is out of sync and appears to be too slow. eg. a male voice is high pitched and not quite audible. Is it the 'bit rate' difference causing the problem and if so, how do I change that in CS5? The PAL clips off my old camera are imported as MPG files. The new camera files are MTS. I am not sure if this is important but would appreciate some help. Thanks.

Adobe doesn't have any tools that perform adequate NTSC<=>PAL conversions, in my view. You may be better off creating a separate video for the NTSC stuff, keeping it as NTSC. Your player should be able to handle it fine.

I have some trouble with FCPX working with my DV tapes and camera (via FW).
When importing a .dv file previously imported with iMovie FCPX crashes. When I convert the file to prores with mpegstreamclip it will import but with incorrect date info.
Now I have made a Tape Archive from within FCPX and I can import from there, but the audio gets out of sync at the end of the tape.
Any suggestions?

When exporting separate audio and video streams, the audio drifts out of sync

So this is my first slightly larger project in Final Cut Pro X.
When I export my finished project (around 12 minutes long) straight to quicktime, it plays back perfectly.
When I export using compressor, the resulting audio and video streams are two different lengths. The audio comes out a full second longer. If you try to lay them down in a program like Adobe Encore, the audio starts out perfectly in sync. Two minutes in you notice the video is slightly out of sync with the audio. By the end of the video it's comically bad, over a second out of sync.
What's even more vexing is if I try to take the quicktime file that IS in sync upon playback, and try to convert it burn that to a dvd or blu-ray using toast, the problem re-emerges.
I triec searching around, but most of the suggestions that came up were vauge, like, "Upgrade to a real program like Final Cut." (This was in reply to people who were using free software programs.)
I did see one idea surface where 44 and 48 kHz sampling rates don't play well together. So I combed through my project and found all the 44.1 songs that were used, and swapped them out with upsampled versions. Nothing changed. It didn't sound like it would fix it, as people usually said it was a specific amount of frames off, not something drifting out of sync.
So the question is, does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing this? Thanks! :-)

Project settings can be accessed and changed by selecting the project and pressing command-J. Then, in the inspector, click on the little gear in the lower-right hand corner to access the settings.
Why are you trying to output video/audio separately? If the content plays in-sync when exporting a quicktime movie (using current project settings), you could try separating the video/audio using MPEG Streamclip as a second step instead of using compressor. For audio, don't change the sample rate from the project settings, and use uncompressed audio (AIFF) as the output format.

I have a .mp4 clip I want to import into FCE. I use convert using quicktime, select dv-pal & 25 FPS.
The video file looks great, however it hasn't touched the audio and sound and picture are now out of sync.
What am i doing wrong?

Check that the audio and Seqeunce settings for audio are the same.
FCE only uses 32 or 48 kHz audio depending on the Easy Setup chosen which governs the FCE Sequence.
BTW: Any audio coming to FCE should be aiff. 48 kHz is best.

I have a Sony HVR Z series HD camera from sony. I will capture a tape and it will be out of sync. I will then recapture and it may be in sync or not, this is really frustrating especially for music videos and weddings, actually a nightmare. I'm not quite sure as to the reason as it happens in Adobe Premiere cs3 and cs4. I have updated everything. Do you thing I need a 10000 RPM os system drive. Any help would be appreciated.

I have 2 Sony HDR FX1 and 1 Sony HVR Z1U and it works great in both CS3 & CS4 so something is wrong with your setup or camera.
I only have a 7200 SATA drive for capture.
I dont know if a bad cable would cause this.
Harm has a couple other ways to capture that he says it keeps the audio in sync better but I have yet tried it but im sure from what I have read here that it works good.

I bought an ipad3 a few months ago, and had so much problem trying to sync it returned it a few days later. I already had the ipad 1, and wanted to upgrade. Very disappointed (because I LOVE my ipad) I was given a new one in the shop, only to find it was doing the same things. I have hung on, continuously trying to sync all y photos onto the device, for work, but it has only ever completed a full sync 2 or 3 times. It either freezes the screen or says that the device disconnected before the sync or back up was complete. I am going round the bend. Never had any problems with ipad 1, can't understand it! I am sure it is something simple I haven't done , but what?? Please help me!?

The first thing is to make sure that you're using the latest version of itunes on your computer. That may be the problem if it isn't updated. Make sure tha iipad is updated as well.

Why does the screen "wash out" with the statement "Firefox is not responding" This happens at least once in each session.

I am not sure what more details I can provide. Suddenly, the cursor for the mouse will freeze, the screen washes out. You can still see the underlying webpage faintly. After a few seconds, the problem corrects itself and Firefox resumes normal operation. This happens with the new Firefox 4 as well as the previous version.
It is major annoyance.

My situation got worse. FF 3.6.12 started doing that; then it just stopped loading. Since then, I have uninstalled & reinstalled, moved my profile to force it to make new one, set it so that it is not the default browser, installed in different drive on computer, cleaned out regedit, ran a spyware program, & nothing. It starts to load then hangs up almost immediately. This has been going on for about 3 days & I'm about ready to chunk it. Any ideas?
