Why does the battery need to be recharged so often?

My iPod is brand new and need recharging every other day.
Why and how does this happen?

Because that is a decision the Apple made. You can get the battery percentage (within 5%) by using a free app such as BatteryLife Lite, but it will not show the percentage on the top of your screen.

It can be calibrated in either machine. The calibration circuitry is in the battery, not the computer.

I'm trying out a dynamic class loading tutorial.
my question is why does the client need to define
java.rmi.server.codebase.
I can understand why the server needs it, as it is downloading classes
it does not have information about. But why does the client need to specify the codebase

Lets say you have a Remote interface with a method:

a zillion of custom tasks to be executed on the
server, but how the hell the server knows where to get
the actual classes for those tasks?You fool. its for the server to hand the client the reference to a stub, or to specify FOR the client where the stubs are, so that the CLIENT can get a reference to them, to make the call.
This is where the
client codebase comes to the scene. Client codebase......you mean codebase info that is sent TO the client, so it can find the classes.
A client annotates
it and it gets written to the manifest part of any
serializable object (Task implentation) being passed
over then net so the server could find and download
the actual class of the object.

I can suggest you a workaround that will help you keep only the 64-bit version of Photoshop.
Visit "Uninstall a Program" in Windows 7 Control Panel and uninstall Photoshop completely.
Visit this page and download trial version of Photoshop.
Run the installer manually and choose the 64-bit version only (uncheck 32-bit version).
Launch the product and specify your Adobe ID credentials.
The product will switch to non-trial (i.e. full) mode when it recognizes your Adobe ID.

Why does the Battery run down so fast?

Im a first time BB user And really need to know how long should the BB 8520 battery life last- I bought the phone 4 days ago And had to charge it twice since then.
I understand why the battery ran down the first 2 days- used the phone a lot to input data And load pictures, music..... But after the second charge I hardly used the phone( only received text message, phone calls ) I did no browsing, no facebook, no IM, didn't listen to music, didn't take any pictures, didn't receive any emails yet- my BIZ has not yet been activated.
This morning it was 100% And now its 70% - And as I said I only received And sent text messages (SMS) And phone calls
am I being silly And should I just expect that from BB.
And should I switch the phone off at night or just leave it in bed side mode?

I live in Brazil and i have a blackberry curve 8520, my problem is the battery.
I try shut off all conections (the wifi, bluetooth, including the moblie phone conection), with the keyboard locked and the phone in stand-by, but the battery dies before the 5 hours (run down very fast).

After it's first charge, does the battery need to be completely empty

I bought an iPhone4 today, and was told to use the phone and let the battery completely run out prior to it's 1st charge.
However, on turning it on, it has 3/4 full battery and says I need to connect it to iTunes before I can use it, unless I want to make an emergency call.
I don't want to ruin the full capacity, but then I don't want to find that I'm still waiting for the battery to die in 3 days!
What can I do?

Ignore what you were told. The iPhone battery has no memory effect, charge whenever you like. You cannot overcharge, as charging automatically stops when your battery is full. Read more here:

Why does the battery die before the power monitor puts the computer to sleep?

Used to be that the power monitor would sleep the computer safely, but lately that doesn't work. I imagine this is something to do with ageing of the battery - is there a way I can recalibrate this?

Battery drained while computer in use. Plugged in and computer will not turn on. Does the battery need to reach a certain charge level first? Battery is 3 months old.

The battery drained while using the computor so we pluged it in but computor will still not fully turn on.

If nothing works, take the Mac to an Apple Store or reseller to get your computer repaired. Also, if you have its charger connected to the computer, is the charger light turned on?

Why does the battery get hot when I'm running a lot of apps?

The battery seems to get hot whenever I'm using more than like 4 apps. Is this normal? The iPod Touch is brand new as I just got it yesterday at the apple store. What seems to be causing this problem and the battery seems to be draining quick.

Depending on the Apps being used, some required much more output/work from your iPod's hardware, which in turn could bump up its overall temperature. If it seems a little above the norm, I would suggest taking it into your local Apple store to see what they say.

If you go to System Preferences > Network do you see other networks listed on the left panel? Is the lock in the lower left corner closed? If not, highlight your network, then close the lock so you block other networks.

Why does the smc need resetting?

Does anyone know why the SMC on my Intel_Mac needs to be reset every couple of days?
It's on a UPS so one would assume that fluctuations in the power supply could be ruled out.
Is there a firmware up grade for this problem?

OK, two questions:
1. What year and size iMac do you have?
2. What version of OS X is installed?
Frequent causes of this problem are traced to peripherals (printers, external hard drives, USB Hubs etc..) that are connected. I would trouble shoot by disconnecting all of your devices and then plugging each one in one by one and test until you either eliminate all of the peripherals as the problem or find the culprit.

Why does the "You need to restart your computer" error appear when I open Vuze?

I apologise that this has probably been asked many times however none of the relevant threads I have come across solved my issue.
I have the most current version of Vuze and a Macbook Pro (Version 10.6.8 OS X).
After using Vuze for a year with zero issues, today I have had to restart my MBP several times due to this error message which is displayed in 5 different languages: "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the Power button again."
This error only occurs when Vuze is open.
No idea why this is the case. Could it perhaps be a file I am downloading?
Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Make sure things like wi-fi, bluetooth, and location services are turned off. Also, if you listen with the screen on, battery drains faster, so you should always sleep the iPod when using it for music.
