Why does the bottom bar of the browser feature a gold ring and the apparent words, "MaDonna" ?
This first appeared about a week ago (12/19/10). It appears in every browser window that opens - even small windows for comments. I am not a Madonna fan, and have not downloaded this myself.
This is likely to be a persona (light weight theme). There is a person who uses the name MaDonna who creates Personas, and some of them are signed MaDonna in the status bar at the bottom of the browser. To see if this is the case, try switching to another persona or theme, for details see [[Using themes with Firefox]].

This doesn't happen every time I load YouTube, but is consistent with Minecraft (I expect it is a Java or Flash problem). If I open Minecraft and start playing without being plugged in, my computer will undoubtedly shut down at some point within 30 minutes from that time. It could just be a couple minutes or up to about 30, but it will happen no matter what. You may be thinking: "he just ran his battery down", but most of these occurances have happened while the computer has more than 80 percent battery left. Also possibly worth noting, the computer shuts down, it doesn't hibernate and it doesn't have a kernel panic, it is just as if I held the power button down. Any thoughts?
Most likely a Flash issue. Try uninstalling then reinstalling your current copy of the Flash plugin.

If that doesn't help, try deleting Flash cookies.

And depending on which browser is being used, definitely empty the cache more often. -
Why does "open in new tab" function, open in both new tab, and the current window ?
Right click on something, select "open in a new tab" As well as opening in a new tab, quite frequently the current window is overlayed with the same thing.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

About 2 weeks ago the tool bar at the top of the page when i log on vanished. Its the toolbar that has copy, edit, view, tools, etc. A week later the next line vanished that has the refresh key and a search line. Now I can't clear cookies, caches, history etc. Please help me restore these bars/lines.
I had this problem too, but someone suggested pressing the F10 key to restore the menu bar. In that under View, there is a place to pick the menu bar and features you want. It worked in my case.

Why does my A55 camera shut off after only a few shots, and the battery is fully charged?
I have a 3 year old A55 camera. It has performed without problems, until now. When I use a fully charged battery, the camera will shut down after about 10 shots. It will not power back up until I put in another fully charged battery. My extended warranty expired in March, but I would think that Sony should fix this known issue, because I see it as a rampant problem (from my research online). Unlike the rest of Sony's A-Mount cameras, the A55 and A33 used the relatively anemic NP-FW50, the same battery used in all Sony's E-Mount bodies. I think that it's probable that, as all rechargeable batteries will do, yours have reached the end of their useful lives, and can't hold a charge. Have you tried a new battery?

Mobile View - Missing the bottom bar in sharepoint.
Hi,
When using SharePoint online with an iPad the bottom bar is missing from time to time which prevents the user from changing to the desktop view or even navigating to mail.
Is this a bug or have we miss configured an element of SharePoint online. I have also tried to find out if its possible to always use the desktop view when on an iPad but had no luck.

Daniel WingfieldReseting Firefox is Not the answer. It all happen today when Firefox upgraded it self (a loose term "upgrade" since I think it is a downgrade). It is there new bookmark toolbar problem. Before it resembled Windows Explorer when you the bookmarks would come up on the left of the screen but now it is just a drop down menu with an arrow on the bottom. If I wanted that I could use the menu bar and click on that and it does that same thing. Since I have a lot of Favorite bookmarks (the newest on the bottom) it take about 2 minutes to reach the bottom now. That's like looking at a 200 page Word document without the scroll bar on the right side of the page that you can just click and hold and go to the bottom in a few seconds instead of click on the arrow at the bottom right of the page.
Please help OR Firefox please change it back! -

== 3 days agoIf you see CJK (Chinese/Japanese) characters on the Firefox title bar or the Windows Taskbar then that can happen if Firefox switches to UTF-16 encoding for some reason.
The ''RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin'' extension (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) has been reported to cause that issue.
Be sure not to get confused with the RealPlayer plugin (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) that plays media files.
The extension adds some extra features like saving media files.
You can disable/remove the ''RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin'' extension in the RealPlayer Preferences (RealPlayer: Tools > Preferences > Download & Recording)

Just to clarify what your saying under menu > settings > Connectivity the only option you can see is Bluetooth? There are no other options to select?
Because under the connectivity menu you should be able to Network, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB, Settings, Connection manager, Mobile data tracker, Data Transfer, Video sharing, Admin settings and play via radio.
All the options should be visible on the connectivity menu on a N8 with Nokia Belle installed.

Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app. -
Why does my caller I.D. photos show as a small thumbnail in the upper right corner and not full screen? I have used both photos I have synced and photos I have taken, yet others have full screen photo I.D.'s. I have looked onlime at several threads and there are no real answers as to what I need to do or am doing wrong.
I am also having this issue.
I've just spoken to someone in the Apple Support Centre who advised me that since the product is in beta, he is unable to assist. I wanted to find out whether someone was able to delete the data for me, or 'reset' the photos app somehow. This apparently cannot be done. He suggested I provide feedback via the feedback page, which I will do, but to be honest doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence in the issue being fixed.
I also deactivated the service and waited the 30 days for the pictures to be deleted - this should have been completed in mid-January. Instead, my iCloud.com Photos page is now showing the photos that should have been deleted as grey squares, just as you described. I am also unable to delete these photos; every time I try, I get the same message about a server error.
I am also unable to disable the service by enabling and then disabling it on my iPhone. Each time I have tried this it hangs on uploading for several hours, with the progress bar not moving at all. When I disable it on my iPhone, the web app remains unchanged.
If anyone has had this issue and has managed to fix it, PLEASE share your wisdom. I am out of patience! -
The bottom bar in my email seems to have disappeared which means I can't create, reply or forward any emails. Any auggestions to how to get it back? Touching the bottom of the screen doesn't work. Thanks.
Close all apps in the Multitasking Drawer; Double Tap Home Button to open drawer, Swipe up on each app to close it. Repeat until all apps are closed, touch home screen.
Restart phone, hold both Home and Power/Sleep buttons down at the same time, continue to hold them down until the Apple Logo appears, Release both buttons and wait for phone to restart.
Check email app to see if bottom bar and new email icon have come back.
If not, delete the email account in settings and then add it back in again.
If mail still not working as it should, you may try doing a Reset All Settings reset in Settings => General => Reset => Reset All Settings. You won't lose any data, music, apps, videos,pictures, etc. But you will have to go back in and turn on or off any settings you changed on your phone because everything will be set back to factory defaults. -

Sounds to me like you may have gotten a machine with hardware issues, but it's hard to say. It will shut down if it gets too hot, but that's not a normal occurrence. I have never seen a MacBook Pro shut down due to heat, even after lengthy 3D gaming sessions where the fans are running fast and the bottom of the machine is unpleasant to touch.
First thing I would try to do is reset the SMC. If that doesn't help, erase the hard drive and reinstall the system from scratch, which you should always do with a used machine anyway.
If a fresh system doesn't help, you'll need to get it checked out by Apple.
Edit: Oh, and sig is absolutely right... please don't post in all caps! It's very irritating. -

MAC OS X.9.4Sorry, I meant to say that when you are finished you should put it back to the correct (highest) resolution.
As for why it happened, it's partly an adobe thing but mostly a mac thing. Window management has many problems in recent versions of OS X and this happens in other programs, too, not just Adobe ones, but the adobe ones tend to take a bit more sorting out. -
