Why does the DB Tools List Columns.vi only report -1 for the defined column size?
I am using LabVIEW 8.2.1 with the database connectivity toolset with an SQL Server 2000 database. I would like to see how large a full record could be, so I used the DB Tools List Columns.vi in the database toolset. It easilly displays the column name and the column type, but only returns a -1 for the defined size. Of course when I add up the defined size elements, it gives me -351, which is the number of columns in that particular table. The vi I am using is very simple. I open a database connection, retrieve the data, and close the connection. The retrieved data is an array of clusters. I index it by running it through a for loop, and unbundeling each of the three parameters, and reforming arrays at the end of the for loop. This is as about the simplest vi I have ever made, but only part of it works.

I don't know if this gets you the functionality you want because I don't have access to your file, but I would have code it this way (see attached picture). I would have used a Array to Cluster.vi to convert the column info ouput array into a cluster so I could use Unbundle by name. I think this is what you are wanting because from what I see, you only access the file once everytime the VI runs (right?). Try this and let us know how it works out. Thanks!!

Why does fix capitalization work when there is only one space after the period in pages 09?
why does fix capitalization work when there is only one space after the period in pages 09? For example: "Turn on 3rd St. After the traffic light." There is only one space after the period in "St." shouldn't it only auto correct after TWO spaces..?? the word After, should be after..
You may also use a noBreak space after the period at the end of the abbreviation.
If I remember well, in such case the capitalization will not apply.

Why does a 128gb I-pad Air 2 only show 113gb in the capacity section of settings? Where has my other 15gb gone. Surely not on the OS. (It shows 111gb available which is the apps I have downloaded already)
Along with what Skydiver119 has already told you, my 64GB iPad 3 only had 57GB of available storage out of the box, so if you keep doubling the amount of already used storage on the device as you go from 16 to 32 to 64 and then to 128GB - I assume that the figure that you see is correct. The iOS and preinstalled apps account for the storage that seems to be "missing" to you on your iPad.
The amount that you see in Settings>General>About>Capacity is in fact, the available storage capacity for your iPad. You can't change it. It is whatever it says it is in that setting. -
Unable to get the SharePoint 2013 List names using Client object model for the input URL
Please can you help with this issue.
We are not able to get the SharePoint 2013 List names using Client object model for the input URL.
What we need is to use default credentials to authenticate user to get only those list which he has access to.
clientContext.Credentials = Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials
But in this case we are getting error saying ‘The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.’
Instead of passing Default Credentials, if we pass the User credentials using:
clientContext.Credentials = New Net.NetworkCredential("Administrator", "password", "contoso")
It authenticates the user and works fine. Since we are developing a web part, it would not be possible to pass the user credentials. Also, the sample source code works perfectly fine on the SharePoint 2010 environment. We need to get the same functionality
working for SharePoint 2013.
We are also facing the same issue while authenticating PSI(Project Server Interface) Web services for Project Server 2013.
Can you please let us know how we can overcome the above issue? Please let us know if you need any further information from our end on the same.
Sample code is here: http://www.projectsolution.com/Data/Support/MS/SharePointTestApplication.zip
Regards, PJ Mistry (Email: [email protected] | Web: http://www.projectsolution.co.uk | Blog: EPMGuy.com)Hi Mistry,
I sure that CSOM will authenticate without passing the
"clientContext.Credentials = Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials" by default. It will take the current login user credentials by default. For more details about the CSOM operations refer the below link.

One computer (my newer one with Lion) doesn't have any music before 7/2008 included as "purchased" but still has all the music in the general library that the other computer has listed in the "purchased" playlist (going all the way back to 2006) automatically generated by itunes. The other computer (the one with the correct purchased playlist) only has snow leopard but apparently can still work with the cloud as it has all the new downloads/purchases that have been completed on the other computer. Is this related to the Itunes plus thing - are all the songs before 7/2008 or whatever the date is not itunes plus and that's why they are not showing up as purchased in one computer? I think I can fix this by creating a special playlist of my own to sync between the two of them, but it would be nice to have both purchased lists be accurate for the synced library. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
You can transfer iTunes content from an iTunes library on a single computer only.
Since these songs were purchased with the same iTunes account, you can download the song that is not in your iTunes library on the computer you will be syncing your iPhone with. Or you can download the song or songs direct on your iPhone.

I greatly appreciate the improvements that came with the Mavericks OS, but either I cannot figure it out, or there is more that Apple can improve. Firefox is my default browser that opens when I click a link. (I do this because I can set Firefox to private browsing, which decreases cookies, history, etc.) When I click on a link in Mail that I want to open in Safari, however, e.g., a link for GotoMeeting, I have only two options: (1) open with Firefox or (2) open in reader. It would be superb if there was at least one additional option to open the link in Safari, where it nicely integrates with Calendar and allows me to keep that event in history. It would be even better if I had more options to open other programs.
Am I missing something? Is this already an option that I have not yet discovered?
Many thanks for a great update to Mountain Lion! You can set Safari to private browsing > Safari menu > Private browsing.

Why does my drawing tool go see through in onion skin mode?
I'm using CS6 photoshop as an animation software and I'm new to the process. When I try to draw on the next frame, the paintbrush draws in a see through colour.... as if the drawing tool itself has an onion skin.
Thanks for the response Rudegar, but I was under the impression that this could work (as explained to me by a Apple sales guy) when I bought the AirPort Express. (and yes I told him I had a Samsung laser printer ML-1915)
Is the AirPlay printer requirement only an issue when the AirPort Express is in server mode?
I thought I could just extend my network in Client mode from the AirPort Express.
So when it talks here about a "wireless print server" it is only referring to either a): ipad to AirPrint printers or b): Windows to any printer?
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2272
Is Apple going to support more printers anytime soon? Because I am happy that my 3 Windows laptops/PC can print wirelessly through Apple gear but kinda confused why my ipad will not play nicely. -
Why does my 7.0 iDVD theme not have sound playing in the menu?
Why does my 7.0 iDVD theme not have sound playing in the menu? When I click to get menu info, the "TravelAudio" audio is listed, but it won't play. The volume is not the issue, it just isn't there.
Hi
First of all - I would try to trash the iDVD pref file (or rather start a new User-account and log into this and re-try).

I have an airport extreme 2013. Why does my airport utility sometimes display IP addresses and other times the names of the devices? I want it to always display the device names.
The utility has had less and less useful information .. it might be time to simply find a different utility.
Fing network scanner. iphone and ipad.
https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/fing-network-scanner/id430921107?mt=8
This is very popular.. I do not know of what works well on Mac OS because i have installed 5.6 utility which of course has far more info than the later toy version. Plus using an Asus router which has excellent listing of all the clients.
Sometimes beating yourself up to make apple routers do what you want is easier solved with lateral thinking. -
Can anyone help me? Why does my ipad kick me out of FB? Sometimes to the 'settings' page and sometimes to the desk top? I would like to know why this happens and what I can check or change to make it stop. I have 50.8 GB of capacity available; it is version IOS 5.1.1; model MC497LL. It is WIFI and internet via AT&T? Can anyone give me some clues on what to do; or change in settings??? Thank you very much!
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
How to get the list of database Views modifying the DB tools list tables.vi
Hi,
I have a problem, I just started using LabVIEW and in particular the LabVIEW connectivity toolkit and I am lookig fgor suggestion regarding how to get the list of database Views modifying the DB tools list tables.vi...
Thanks in advance,
MichelaHi Michela,
since the VI you want to modify is part of a Toolkit, I suggest you to copy the whole block diagram in a new VI and then save it in a new location.
Place the DB List Tables.vi on a block diagram, double click on it and go to the tab "Window -> Show Block Diagram "
Select "Edit -> Select All" to select the whole block diagram and select "Edit -> Copy"
Open a new VI and select "Edit -> Paste"
Save the new VI
In this way you can modify everything you want without overwriting the Toolkits VIs.
Hope this can help.

why does my ipod sometimes flashes white then shuts down and then the only way to restart is to restore?
If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Why if I have money in my apple account, having redeemed a voucher, does my iPad still try to charge my bank account for the music I am trying to purchase?
Hi backpacker1952,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you already have an iTunes Gift balance on your account, you can browse and buy music like you would if you were paying with a credit card. You may find the information in this article helpful:
How to browse and buy content from the iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1879
This article explains how to view your current balance in iTunes:
iTunes Store: iTunes Gift balances
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5035
You use the Redeem link when you want to redeem an iTunes Gift (like an app someone purchased for you) or add an additional iTunes Gift Card to your account. See this article for more information:

Why does iPhoto quit every time after I say do not delete the photos from the camera after downloading?
I have not have this issue before. I have iphoto 9.1.1. (531) and Lion OS. I connect the camera to iphoto and started to download the photos. Everything got downloaded up till when the iphoto asks if i want to delete or keep the photos. I say keep and click when at this moment iphoto quits unexpectedly. I start iphoto with option and command and click on rebuild the library and examine and repair permissions. I also deleted cache and looked in the preferences folder but could not find anything starting com.apple.iphoto.
Then it works again however until I start again. I also tried to download individual photos where it works for some and for some it quits. here is the error message:
