Why does the iPad not come with Stocks, Weather and Messages apps like iPhone?

Just received my new 64gb iPad and curious about why Apple has left some of the key apps off the device like Stocks, Weather and Messages. Can these be added?
All the iOS 5 demos I've seen were showing the new Notifications functionality with these apps being used as examples yet when I turned this amazing device on, none of these apps were there.
Someone clue me in to what I might be missing here.
Thanks,
Steve

After I posted my question, I saw many similar questions with the same answers. Thanks for the help. Seems strange to me to not include these great apps and I totally forgot about the Clock & Calculator...
I wonder if iOS 5 might return add them to the iPad?
Cheers,
Steve

  • Why does the EarPods not come with the iPad?

I've seen unboxings of the new iPad & iPad Mini, but the EarPods doesn't come int he bundle, why is that?
There is only: iPad, Paperworks, Stickers, Charger, and Wall Adapter. Why no EarPods?

Cause apple doesn't put them in.
This is just a user to user forum so none of us would know Apple's thinking. However they do need to classify portable devices (ipods and iphones) differently from iPads.

  • Why does my IPad not sync with my IPhone for Ibooks bookmarks?

Why does my IPad not sync with my IPhone for IBooks bookmarks?  Both Pad and Phone have sync turned on.

I must apologize as I misread your post. I though that you were talking about Safari bookmarks but you post does clearly state iBooks bookmarks.
You may want to just try restarting both devices and see if that helps. One other thing that you could try is quit iBooks on both devices and then launch it again and see if the bookmarks are synced when you relaunch.

  • Does the IPAD mini come with, or have an optional, adaptor for charging from the cigarette lighter in the car?

Does the IPAD mini come with, or have an optional, cigarette lighter adaptor for charging?

Thanks much for the links, Johnathan.  I am going to be spending this summer kayaking in SE Alaska working with a conservation group out of Sitka, measuring data from remote wilderness areas.  I found a human powered 12v charger made by Freeplay Energy that utilizes a common cigarette lighter plug in.  With one of the adaptors you have identified for me I should be able to crank power into a mini in the middle of nowhere.
I had hoped I could download the free Sirius XM app and receive satellite radio in addition to other mini uses, but Sirius informs me they don't cover SE Alaska, but could still receive broadcasts whenever I'm in one of the Sitka harbors that provide wifi, i.e. internet radio.
If any other helpful takes on my situation occur to you be assured I'm all ears.
    Thanks again.

  • Why does the iPad not support flash player? I would like to watch programming from att uverse but cannot because of this restriction

Why does the iPad not support flash player? I would like to watch programming from att uverse but cannot because of this restriction

Because NOTHING that is iOS supports Flash. Never has never will.
The only possible option is to try the Skyfire browser from the App store. It is an internet browser that converts flash to HTML 5 so that you can attempt to view it on iOS devices.
I have never tried it so I can tell you if it is any good, but it has gotten decent reviews.

  • Does the ipad mini come with a micro sim card?

I am interested in purchasing an ipad mini w cellular option.  I am moving to the UK for a year and want to use a provider there but switch back to a US provider next year. Does the ipad mini come equipped with a micro sim card?

The US AT&T model comes with an AT&T SIM. For other carriers you will need to get a nano-SIM from the carrier.
    Regards.

  • Why does the ipad not have the apps wheather and stocks

The iPad doesn't have stocks and weather

All we, your fellow users, can tell you is that it's because Apple chose not to include them. There are a multitude of such apps in the iTunes Store, though.

  • Why does the tasks not sync with outlook on the ipad

No one seems to have a straight answer why tasks from outlook can't sync to the iPad or iPhone without using other apps which are garbage and don't work with no reply from support people namely imexchange 1 and 2

Syncing Tasks is not supported. This has not been supported since day one nearly 4 years ago and no one here knows why. Syncing To Do's with iCal on a Mac is not supported either, which would likely be supported before syncing Tasks with Outlook.

  • Why does the iPad not have an Apple Store app?

I was wondering, why has Apple not made an Apple Store app for the iPad yet? It's been a while now that the iPad has been out and the iPhone has had it but why not make one for iPad too? It could be designed correctly to be a lot more user friendly on an iPad then the website in my opinion...

This is a user-to-user forum. Except for the Host who keep order, Apple doesn't really participate directly.

  • What version of iOS does the iPad 2 come with?

I am looking to buy an iPad 2 and was wondering if I were to purchase an iPad 2 today, would it come with iOS pre or post iOS 5?

    Texas Mac Man wrote:
Probably depends on whre you buy it. There could still be some stock of iPads using iOS 4.3. There's no indication on the iPad box as to what iOS is installed. iOS updates are free, so there's no concern for you.
     Cheers, Tom
Is there an iCloud stamp on the current iPad 2 packaging? Maybe the packaging implies. If the current packaging has the iCloud stamp, iPads shipped with iOS4.3 wouldn't have it but that would really take a bit of luck to come by.
Here's another similar thread with some views by the way.

  • Why does the "sharpen" not save with the photos I apply it to?

When I edit my photos, all of the edits stay but the sharpen. As soon as I switch over to library and/or export the photos, the shapen I did dissapears and only the other edits I did saved. Why does this happen? Am I doing something wrong? The sharpen stayed when i first got light room but now it doesnt.

What version of LR are you using? LR 5.0 has a bug because of which exported images which are downsized to less than 1/3 the original dimensions do not receive sharpening. It has been fixed in 5.2.
