Why does the iPod starts by itself?

When I plug the earphones into my iPhone 3G, the iPod automatically starts playing songs. Why does that happen then?

- By restore itsself do you mean that it erases itself and then either sets ups as a new iPod or restores from a iCloud backup or backup on yur computer?
- You also say that "how can i just make my ipod a hotspot or something?"
The iPod does not have celluar connectivity so it has to use wifi to connect to the internet. When you first get a new iPod yu can set it up via wifi or by connecting it to a computer that is connected to the internet. Has the iPod been setup already?

  • Why does the iPod 4g freeze every 5 min ?

Why does the iPod 4g freeze every 5 min ? This is really annoying. I will choose Samsung next time if apple continue like this. Samsung is much better. I'm on iOS 6.1.5 (last update). Does apple do a bad a updat to force people de buy a new idevice. Personally I think this. It's not really good from apple

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Why does the iPod duplicate songs when updating my playlists?

Why does the iPod duplicate songs when updating my playlists? Also, you cannot use the "show duplicate songs" feature on the iPod - I suppose that is because it is not supposed to duplicate songs on the iPod. But, if that is the case - why does it do it?

Try resetting your iPod, press and hold the power and the home buttons together approximately 15 seconds until the Apple logo appears. If that does not work try going into Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. If that does not work try connecting to you iTunes library via the cable and un-sync the library from your iPod then sync the library.  For the next 2 options backup your iPod first, then do a Restore iPod from backup, if that doesn't work... As a last resort Restore your iPod as New. I too had the red circle and square after updating to 7.0.4 the last resort fixed mine, others have reported doing all the above, all have had reports of fixing the problem and not fixing it. Give it a try, hopefully one of these works, Good luck.

Why does the download start again for the start. I only hve access to a 3G wifi connection so one tv episode had cost me about $10 I'm download costs because of several interruptions. Is there a way to change that?

Among the alternatives not mentioned... Using a TiVo DVR, rather than the X1; a Roamio Plus or Pro would solve both the concern over the quality of the DVR, as well as providing the MoCA bridge capability the poster so desperately wanted the X1 DVR to provide. (Although the TiVo's support only MoCA 1.1.) Just get a third-party MoCA adapter for the distant location. Why the hang-up on having a device provided by Comcast? This seems especially ironic given the opinions expressed regarding payments over time to Comcast. If a MoCA 2.0 bridge was the requirement, they don't exist outside providers. So couldn't the poster have simply requested a replacement XB3 from the local office and configured it down to only providing MoCA bridging -- and perhaps as a wireless access point? Comcast would bill him the monthly rate for the extra device, but such is the state of MoCA 2.0. Much of the OP sounds like frustration over devices providing capabilities the poster *thinks* they should have.

Why does the ipod touch cost 329 euro in italy when it should cost 234?

Why do you think it should cost exactly the same everywhere?
Almost no product cost exactly the same everywhere.

why does the iPod 5 not have a battery perecentage option? can't you guys put it in an update?

    Apple has not said why.

  • Why does my Ipod start playing music when I set it on the Speaker dock?

Everytime I set it on the speaker dock it starts playing the same song without pushing any buttons, even when I just want to charge the Ipod.

Are you using the remote that came with the Apple TV? If so, on the Mac open System Prefs > Security and Privacy and click the "advanced" button. Select the option to "disable remote control infrared receiver" and click OK and close Sys Prefs.

  • Why does the ipod "restore" get stuck ???

everything was working fine until I updated iTunes to version 7.5
now when I start iTunes and attach my iPod, it tells me I need to do a restore
so I do and it never gets to the point where it copies the songs from iTunes to the iPod ???
i am going around in circle (and getting dizzy)...any suggestions, folks ?

Hey iPod touch users 101, Have you done trouble shooting 101? (couldn't resist, the 101 thing just screaming to be done, anyway...) Most often the little switch inside the headphone port gets stuck open, so your iPod thinks the headphone jack is still pulled in. Try looking the port with your iPod turned off, do you see anything, pocket lint is most often the culprit. If you see something attempted to blow it out, or use a probe to carefully remove the foreign debris. If that does not work, or you do not see anything, try quickly plugging / unplugging the headphone jack several times about 12 times, free the switch, if contacts are corroded this action should clean them. Check for foreign debris again, may need to repeat this action. Hopefully this solves your issue. You can also try resetting, press and hold the power and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears then release both buttons, or go into Settings>General>Reset, then tap Reset All Settings, but I think from what you have described you problem is hardware not software. If problem continues, contact your Apple store or the Apple Genius Bar, and set up an appointment to have your iPod evaluated. Good luck, Cheers.

  • Why does my iPod start playing on its own.

MY iPod lives in the docking station and every now then it just starts playing on its own accord.  How can I stop this as some nights it frightens the life out me!!!

Do you have any alarms set up on the device? Perhaps you can try a hard reset of the iPod and then see how it does for a few days again.

  • Why does my ipod frequently shuts itself off?

My ipod classic keeps turning off while I'm listening to it and I think maybe it has a virus.  What should I do?

There are no known viruses for the iPod Classic. When it shuts off, are you able to start it back up again without any problems or do you have to connect it to iTunes or an external power source to let it charge?
Have you worked through any of the usual 5 R's of troubleshooting yet to rule out the possibility of a software glitch or corrupted data?

  • Why does the Ipod calender keep freezing?

I'm big on organizing my things in my Ipod calender, I use it all the time. And I noticed this once a long while ago but until now it got worse. The calender app started freezing when I would be done creating an event and click on the 'DONE' button. It would freeze on the event page and I couldnt get out of it. Every time i would close the app and return it would stay stuck on the same "create an event" page. It would only go away when I would reset/turn off my Ipod.
The first time that ever happened and I reset, the event appeared in the calender with all the correct information I inputed when I opened the app. The times after that the events have not been appearing at all and now I notice that when I put "repeating" events, they dont show for the whole length that I have inputed.
I do not know how to fix this. How can I create events without the Ipod's calender app crashing every single time??

If it occurs after restoring to factory defaults/new iPod that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. You did not say the type of restore you performed.

  • Why does the IPOD Touch bluetooth refuse the connection to my cellphone and declare it "unsupported"?

I'm trying to transfer a picture from a Motorola Razr Cellphone via Bluetooth.  The cellphone discovers and connects to the IPOD Touch.  The IPOD touch discovers the cellphone but refuses to pair and declares the cellphon an "unsupported device".  The passkeys are equal so what is the deal?  Incompatiable versions of Bluetooth?

It isn't designed to work like that.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647 for supported bluetooth profiles

  • Why does the ipod 4g doesnt have ios7??

kinda frustrated how the ipod 4g doesnt have ios 7.

iOS 7 apparently requires at least 512MB of RAM. The fourth generation iPod touch only has 256MB, and therefore won't get it.
