  • Why does the new iOS 7.1 not show all your calendar entry's  like 7.0 only shows daily entry's not the list. New software on iPad still shows all calender entry's

New iOS 7.01 iPhone 5. When you go to check you calendar entry's it does not bring up all the entry's only shows entry's for each day. Why?

When in month view, swipe up or down to change the month, tap the litle icon "three lines horizontal" next to the search icon, and you have a list view of all events. Clicking the icon twice again, brings up the Day view, and then again tapping twice the list view again....
Personally I am not very happy with this "advanced" app, and I have installed Week calendar which basically is another interface to the same calendars database.

  • Why does the new Itunes freeze/do nothing when i click on my Ipod touch icon ?

Why does the new Itunes freeze when i click on my Ipod touch icon to manage my content? All buttones, video, tv, info, music, they all do nothing. i was only able to sync by bringing up the old sidebar. Is this a software glitch, or am i missing a step? I just spent two days reorganizing and labeling all my music for the new itunes, and had to restore my ipod so i could upload my new library. i know what is supposed to come up when you click on the music or info tabs, but nothing happens, only the eject button works. whats going on?

The screen is telling you to connect the iPod to your computer with iTunes with the USB connector.  iTunes should open and give you instructions as to what to do.  Whatyou need to need to do is to restore the iPod via iTunes.

Why does the new version of i-tunes not have back-up to disc in the library file? And how do I fix it?

Fast backup for iTunes library  (Windows)
Grab SyncToy  2.1, a free tool from MS. This can be used to copy your entire iTunes library (& other important data folders) onto another hard drive or network share. You can then use SyncToy periodically to synchronise or echo your library to the backup. A preview will show which files need to be updated giving you a chance to spot unexpected changes and during the run only the new or updated files will be copied saving lots of time.
If your media is all organised below the main iTunes folder then you should also be able to open the backup library on any system running the same version of iTunes, regardless of the drive letter or path it appears on.

  • Why does the new operating system not delete the moved files from their original location - it seems like an enormous waste of space, time and effort to clean up every file once you've moved it

Why does the new operating system not delete the moved files from their original locations - it seems like an enormous waste of space, time and effort to clean up every file once you've moved it - also, when transferring large amounts of files it becomes a very large problem remembering which files were transferred and which not.

You're going to need to be more specific, as I'm not quite sure I understand what you're talking about.
If you're referring to copying from an external hard drive or flash drive, and you want to actually move files rather than copy them, you can hold down the option key to force it to do a "move" rather than a "copy." This is not new behavior, though... the Mac OS has worked this way as long as I can recall (and I've been using it since 1984).
If you're having a problem with trying to move files from one place to another on a single drive causing them to be copied instead, that is likely because of some permissions issue preventing you from actually being able to move them.

The Sync setting only appears if you are syncing your calendar with iCloud.  If you are syncing them to another service (such as Google) you would need to go your account with that service and see if you can change the setting there.
If you are syncing your calendar with iCloud, you should see the Sync setting, and be able to tap and change it.

The only way you can get a wifi only onto a cellular network (unless someone has an open access point) is to use a device like Mifi...a portable cellular wifi hotspot that you activate and hook your device to.

  • Why does the new MacBook Pro 13 no longer come with a graphics card?

Why does the new MacBook Pro no longer come with a graphics card?  Or at least make it so you can opt for one.

I know how you feel. Your MacBook Pro has integrated graphics 384 MB or 512 MB. If you are a gamer, creative professional or just want more VRAM get a 15 inch MacBook Pro with up to 1 gig of VRAM or a windows gaming laptop with up to 16 gigs of VRAM (a ridiculous amount!). If you get a windows pc, you can always install virtual box. There is no point in buying a 13 inch MacBook Pro unless you need a lightweight laptop with all of the extra "goodies". There is also no possible way to change the graphics unless you know how to "unhook" the card from the processor and install a new one. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi! I just update my apple tv 2nd gen to the new solfware but it only show the itunes icon on the tv and after shows nothing on the tv screen. What i can do to fix that?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

  • Why does the new update add a jquery-2.0.3.min.js file?

So I updated adobe edge and instead of getting improvements I got problems. Whenever I publish my file it ads a jquery-2.0.3.min.js file that is so heavy that now my file is more 60kb.
My file used to be 17kb.
How can I change the publish settings so that I only have 3 javascript files=  edge.js, edgeActions.js, and an edgePreload.js
Which were the original javascript files. It doesn't even publish a preloader anymore.
    What can I do?

The old runtime used to depend on jQuery, however the new one does not. That's why on upgrade, jQuery is added as a dependency in the upgraded project as it might be used in the scripts. There are two options available:
    1. If you are not really using jQuery, then you can delete jQuery from the scripts section, preview and test the movie and publish. It will not have any jQuery dependency in this case. Please note that the new runtime has the support for basic selectors and some basic jQuery APIs (Adobe Edge Animate CC JavaScript API), if your use of jQuery is limited to these, then also you can get rid of jQuery dependency from the upgraded project.
    2. If you are using jQuery, then you have the option of using jQuery from the CDN. You can remove the local jQuery dependency and add a dependency by specifying a CDN URL for jQuery. We are looking for options to make this flow easier.
Let us know if you need any other help.

  • Why does the new Quicktime NOT play my old MOV files?

    Hi Folks.
I'm using the lasted updated Yosemite on a 3-year old iMac.
Back in my early iMac days (3 years ago), I imported my camcorder's AVCHD files
into iMove or Final Cut Express and converted them to Quicktime MOV files.
Turns out they were rendered by Apple or Final Cut into MOV files using the
Apple Intermediate codec.  I had no choice over this.
Until I upgraded to Yosemite, I was able to preview any of these movies
very easily in the Finder.  Simply highlight the movie, press the spacebar,
and it opens, in a real-time, real-size screen, with a simple play-pause button
in the progress bar at the bottom.  Never had a problem with any previous
    Mac OS.
Now when I click on the file in the finder, instead of a movie preview, I get a
big, silent QT "Mov" icon that just sits there looking silly.
I double click it to open it up in Quicktime, and it attempts to go through this
lengthy conversion process, taking at least as long as the movie is in minutes,
then asking me if I want to save this new "converted" version.
Fortunately, I have an old version of Quicktime 7 on my Mac, and QT 7 opens it
and plays it no problem.  No "conversion" necessary.  No cumbersome and
space-hogging needs to create a "cloned" copy, just so the new, lame version
    of Quicktime can play it.
What's up, Apple?  AIC was YOUR codec that YOUR SOFTWARE chose to
transcode into.  Now, your new Quicktime does NOT support this codec?
And your old version does?  And why might THAT be?
Really, this is so elementary.  This is not rocket science.  Just like JPG images
not displaying properly in Mac Mail now.  It begs the question "why" ...?
I mean, for the elementary preview abilities that always made Mac such a
friendly computer ... *uh* ... where is that?
And here we go, wasting hours of time, looking for fixes that should not
    have to be "fixed"...
Did I miss something?  Or did you?

Aeclay: here's a couple of ideas.  And an answer to your earlier post.
Basically two options to work with here:
Store the files as native AVCHD files... OR
    Convert the files to Quicktime
I keep two archives of my AVCHD recordings, partly for backup, and partly for Sony's ability to archive nicely in it's own native format on it's PC-friendly utility called "PMB".  (came wtih both my NEX and ALPHA cameras).   I have an old PC that I use for my complete archive; Sony's PMB utility works only on PC's and will do a good job both of archiving, providing a thumbnail database, and re-writing your choice to removable media in it's typical Sony hierarchy.
If you've only got Mac's, you can still archive your AVCHD recordings; copy them to folders named or organized to your own spec's.   AVCHD is a high-quality compression format, and they'll take up way less disk space than converted Quicktime MOV files.   You can open and play all AVCHD movies quite easily with VLC player.
The only extra trick to be aware of here is this.  The only reason you would need to preserve the intact "sony" folders (named "AVCHD" / "BMDV" etc) is is you were using Adobe Premiere as a video editor.  Somehow, it needs the hierarchical folder stuff in place to properly index the files.  Not mandatory, but helpful if  you are a Premiere user.  Otherwise, forget the weird "package" folders; just right-click (ctrl-click) on them, choose "view package contents" and MOVE the MTS files out of the Sony hierarchy for permanent storage.  Use VLC player to open and view them.
From that point on,  you have control over how you manage the files and what intermediate or end-user format you convert them to for your own use.
I'm not clear on your other question about the files that add the word "converted" on.  Of course Mac will convert to Quicktime MOV files.  Not sure what codec they're using now, likely H.264.  Anyway, don't bother converting.  It'll take up a lot of time and waste a lot of disk space.
ps. I just found this free utility on the internet.  It's called "MTS CONVERTER". I have not tried it, but it claims to be able to convert all AVCHD files to various useable formats.
Good luck!  (and happy Valentine's Day!)

  • Why does the new CVI adapter not put the contextCVI parameter?

    Hi,
With good old 2.0 prototype you could not specify arguments and you always used the parameters tTestData and tTestError. Now, with the TS3.x the recommended prototype is the new one.
If I specify the standard prototype it puts some arguments which the sequence context is not one of them.
    The question is why?
    1) Don't you always need it? Is there a way to get the context from within the CVI code? Isn't the idea of the context argument is to be able to get/set information from the TS variables?
    2) I read the manuals but didn't see exact instructions how to specify the context as an argument. Can anybody show me how to do it? Do I need to specify it by value or by reference?
    3) Isn't there a check box to include the context in the same fashion as it was in TS2.x?
    4) I specify the context parameter with every TS step. Is that the proper way? Can I modify the standard prototype so it will automatically be inserted along with the other argument?
    Thanks
    Rafi

    Hello Rafi -
I think the Action steptype will always give you a seqContextCVI pointer, but I agree that the default templates for the other steps don't. Certainly you don't 'always' need it. Especially if all you're doing is talking to hardware, doing some calculation and returning a measurement value, but it's very nice to have for various chores in TestStand.
I think in TS 3.0 rather expect you to specify it manually. It's not too hard to do once you see the trick. I looked at the Action step's default arguements before I saw how it was done, but here's the simple breakdown.
    (1) create new arguement, on the right-hand side of the screen name it whatever you like.
    (2) The category is 'Object, the Type is 'CVI ActiveX Automation Handle' and the Pass is 'By Value'.
    (3) on the left-hand side of the screen, assign it the value 'ThisContext' as usual, and you're all set.
If you build your functions manually in CVI you'll just include the parameter "CAObjHandle seqContextCVI" and use it just like you used to.
Other options might be... I know there's still a button on the Module tab of CVI steps to allow you to create a TS 2.0 style prototype with TestData and TestError...
Or, Yes, you can also modify the default template that comes with TestStand, but the software will likely complain at you for changing the settings on a NI steptype. If you want to explore this route, you need to add your seqContextCVI parameter in two places. Once to the actual template file at (TestStand Root dir)\CodeTemplates\User\NumericLimitCVI, and once to the type definition of the step you want to change. For example, use the Type Palette to find the Numeric Limit type and right click on it to alter it's properties. The tab you'll want to investigate is 'Code Templates'and then the template for CVI.
    I hope this helps!
