i recently bought a new charger 2 months ago at best buy . (black friday sale) ! it worked so perfectly fine until today . i guess it's the new update ?! i don't really like it because the charger is a really good one . my warranty expired in december , and my charger burnt out like the other two chargers i had ....

Apple tried making it so iOS only allows "made for iPhone devices". You will have to get a different cable in order for it to work again.
If you need just the USB section of it, amazon sells a nice cable, for a few bucks less than apple and it is a lot better made.

This is not new. The fact that Mac OS no longer supports PowerPC applications starting with OS X Lion has been known for over a year now. You'll need to upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop

It normally updates if there are new images or edits which are picked up from the watch folder. The default watch folder is My Pictures+sub-folders.

Why does the software updating not work

My system refuses to perform a software update. It starts to scan, then only displays a very short blue section on the progress display and then finally quits by refereing to an apparent network problem. However, network checks show that everything is OK.
Any ideas what it couod be or how to overcome the problem?
At the same time, also Safari plays up. When changing websites, in many cases they either don't open or it takes a very long time to start opening. When I disconnect from WLAN and then reconnect, the pages start to load.

That one suggests the installer is getting damaged during the download via Apple Software Update.
Try instead updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

I have updated my lap top and my iPad to iOS but my iPhone won't update. I find this really frustrating.

Sometimes that is a business decision, sometimes technology driven. Operating systems and software get to a point where hardware is not capbable of using the software effectively so it is not supported. This has happened a few times in the life of various Mac OS versions.
It's frustrating but not much we individual users can really do about it.

The routine updates that Firefox sends to me have always worked just fine. Now though the latest update I have been trying to access just keeps running and never completes the task. The motion bar that shows the user that the update is running never stops. I have come back minutes later to find the motion bar still running. No it is not worth investing in this because it is a very expensive way of getting viruses. These detectives and those who say they can find the fault on your machine by installing their software are bunch of hackers.
If your camera is not recognized then it suggests that either your USB is faulty or the cable linking the two is faulty.
Can you connect anything else like a flash drive to your USB port that you are using for your camera and is it recognized?

I run Microsoft's Autoupdater, which checks for and prepares me for updates every week.
Unfortunately, it manages to do so at my expense!
Usually, I catch it, but this time I didn't see the little window and I was distracted with some other, newer applicaitons I had installed (Kaspersky). Sill me, I focused too long on the anti-virus software and neglegleted what has become a small nightmare, for me. My bad, but still, should any background application be able to co-opt the whole system like this?
How can I change the priority on Microsoft's Update application so that it can't pre-empt everything else?
Is there some other way to tune or modify this app, without just turning it off?

You can set the Microsoft updater to not update automatically. It can be set to update manually. Eliminates one issue. Second issue is get rid of virus checking software. You don't need it.

WHY does the ICS update lags?

I recently updated the Xperia Arc S, to the ICS 4.0.3 update released by Sony. I was on 0.62 previously, and did a factory reset before as well as after the update. The laggy transitions, led me to do a phone repair too. The lags became less, but its not smooth at all. no where near GB.
Just wanted to know the reason(s) for the problems...
Please tell us if its any of the following, or something else:
Case 1:
The update is not supposed to be laggy at all, the test devices here at Sony work smooth.
Request: Please upload a video of the final ICS update (similar to the beta videos), to show us what maximum smoothness we can expect. Also, if possible, give us a proper step by step procedure, to how to update our phone, to get the best possible performance out of it.
Case 2:
The ICS Rom is heavy resource demanding, and things will not get any smotther.
Case 2.a: None of the further updates will solve the issue
Case 2.b: The next updates will solve the issue, as the later ICS releases by goolge are beter in terms of resource management
PS: The CM9 (based on ICS), ran very smooth on the Galaxy Ace (Tried it myslef). The HTC One V, runs ICS smooth enough (not as much as Xperia GB, but better than Xperia ICS)

They updated saying that those issues were taken care of...
We we would like to clarify that above mentioned “challenges” have already been addressed by our SW engineering teams. For instance, we have not only optimised the RAM management by making the RAM usage for internal apps as good as possible, but we will also introduce a Performance assistant at start up when running ICS....
We have also worked with quite a few partners in regards to architecture optimisations for SQL handling. In addition, we have also optimised the hardware usage. And as a result of this article, a number of app developers have notified us that they are evaluating if HW optimisation will be needed or not for their apps....
But still the updte lags. Why? And can we expect some corrections to make it smmooth and bug free?

Lightroom 5 already installed, so why does the CC updater give me the option to "Install"? Seems it doesn't know I have it installed.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. Okay, I'm going to take a risk and install it from the CC updater. I checked the installed version I have and it's 5.0. Not 5.5. I installed 5.0 originally from the CC updater app so still not sure why it doesn't seem to know I have 5.0 installed already. Every other CC app (photoshop, illustrator, premier pro, etc.) just lets me know when there is an update available.
Anyway, I am installing 5.5 now from the updater so hopefully this will update the existing 5.0 that I have installed rather than install a separate 5.5 (meaning I now have 2 different versions of Lightroom on my mac). And hopefully my catalog will be available and intact.
