Why does the PDFs' name change when i view them in the iBooks app?

i have some past papers and marking schemes in my iTunes library....when i sync them to my iPad, they appear just fine....they are there just the way i named them and all...
but when i open them, the name changes to some coded-ish name with lots of numbers and all that....
is it possible for me to change some setting and save the name i want for those PDFs? Or am I going to have to live with this madness?
please help!

Hello, I wanted to follow up on this issue after reviewing some of the changes with the current update. [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1049521] This bug addressed some Windows HKEYs that are changed when Firefox is updated/or installed.
As an update, a patch has been made and changes are on the way for fresh installs of Firefox :-)

I've turned on file sharing, but each time that my iMac wakes up from sleep mode, I get a message that the localhost name is "already taken", and it appends an integer, e.g., -1 to the localhost name. If I don't reset it back to the original name in System Preferences, each time the computer wakes, it will provide the same message and increment the integer value at the end of the localhost name.

     - two computers having the same name
     - A Local Mac OS X server get confuse and think your computer is another one
          (could be related to accessing the network on bothh Wifi and Ethernet and playing aroud :-)

Why does the Mail.app CC: field always rearranges the list so I am first on the CC: list although the sender intentionally did not ?
I did not see how and where to de-activate this unnecessary intrusion in the company's communication codes.

Yahoo! partnered with Apple to allow an IMAP style offering on the iPhone, free of charge for their users. However that feature is only available if you use the iPhone. If you want IMAP/POP access on computers then you'd need to upgrade to the Plus level account.

The drop arrow just tilts up and down and ...nothing. I can still access YouTube through Safari browser but strange, I can't find a solution to the app not opening or being able to sign in on either ipad mini or phone even though they are up to date apps.

In order to analyze your issue better, we need more detailed information.
Did you mean when you launch the Windows store app, the app can't start? Was there any prompt message or error code? Did this issue occur on all Windows Store app or specific one?

I have C=0 M= 0 Y=5 K=9 in InDesign when i PDF it changes to C=0 M= 0 Y=4 K=7.

how are you inspecting the PDF? The values change depending on the output intent.

Why does my font/text change when I switch from Classic 3D to Ray traced 3D in After Effects?

My font/text changes when I switch from Classic 3D to Ray traced 3D. Why is it doing this? Also, I cant get the font/txt to look the same after I switch from Classic to Ray traced. How can I get it to look the same?

I am pretty new to After Effects so I hope it's not my inexperience that's causing the problem. (It probably is)
I just updated to the most current version of AE.

Okay so after looking at it a little closer, I think the color is what mostly changes. The first screenshot is the what the text look like with Classic 3D and the second screenshot is what it looks like after I change it to Ray traced 3D. Also under the "Mode" section..the pull down that says "Normal" disappears. I'm wondering why the font color is changing?

Why does my frame size change when transcoding?

My movie files are 720x534, NTSC D1 Square Pixel. When Encore transcodes them they become 720x480 which clips off the left and right sides of the movies. Is there any way to get around this, either by rendering the movie files differently in AE or controlling the transcode in Encore?

The proper standard size for a square pixel composition that is going to be FIT into NTSC DV at 720 X 480 is 720 X 534
The sentence after that one is:
For Square pixel artwork that is going to be used directly in an NTSC DV 720 X 480 comp the proper size is 648 X 480.
I don't understand the full implications, but I think you do not want to fit your composition "into" NTSC DV, you want to use it directly.
I'll also note that the Gerard piece appears to be from 2001, so, while it may still work fine, I wonder if the PAR changes as of CS4 complicate using it. I like the Meyers piece on this now.

Why does the preferences-app crash when I try to add a CalDAV-account?

Hey all,
I recently set up a calendarserver on my debian-machine. After that, I set up my account in iCal on my MacBook. Everything works, so my server does.
Now, if I try to add a CalDAV-account on my iPhone (preferences-app -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar -> Add account -> Other -> Add CalDAV-Account) the preferences-app crashes and nothing was added.
Any suggestions how to solve this issue?
My iPhone 3GS runs with iOS version 4.3.3 (8J2).

Why does the mail app think my email username and or password is wrong, when they are correct?

I used to be able to check my AOL email through the mail app on my ipod touch. Recently it has been telling me that my username and/or password for my AOL email is wrong. I checked my username and password by logging in to my email on my computer. I tried deleteing and readding the account. Restoring then readding. I am able to use my gmail accounts on my ipod touch.

Why does the Reminders app crash each time I try to open it on my iPad 2?

At one point, a few weeks ago, I was able to use my Reminders app on my iPad 2, fairly close to perfect. Now, since then, each time I open the app, it freezes or does not allow men to complete reminders or add new ones. If I close the app from Multitasking and try to reopen, it just opens the app but it is blank. What is happening and why does it keep crashing? I like the app to set reminders for upcoming bills but the app seems useless right now until I figure out to make it stop crashing on me. Thank you!

I am having exactly the same problem with my iPhone 4 (running 6.0.1 (10A523)). I have rebooted several times since this started occurring but it doesn't change the behavior. It was also reporting a "storage almost full" error quite often when I still have 1GB - 3GB of free space. As a troubleshooting exercise I removed all my music so there is now 20.1GB free. The storage warning no longer appears but the same issue still persists with reminders. Help, please!

Why does the Notes app want Keychain access?

Does anyone know why Notes wants keychain access? It started when I downgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. The dialong also won't accept 'no' for an answer. If I select "Deny" it just repeats the question and the only options are to close the program or allow access. Since it doesn't allow secure notes, why does it need the keychain, and why present a dialog with no choices?

Try going to Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access/Secure Notes and see if there is an entry there. If so, you'll need to decide if you want to keep it or not.

Why does the Phone App load so slowly?

My iPhone 4 was upgraded (begrudgingly) to iOS6. Now it has many problems. One of the most annoying is that when I launch the Phone app, it hangs/lags for 15-20 seconds before functioning. The same thing happens when i change between screens within the app.
Any ideas?

iWeb does the rendering to a png automatically. The only way I know how to create one would be in a 3rd party editor like Photoshop Elements.
If you were to create a gradient background in such an editor you could save it as a jpg and make it pretty small for quick loading. Solid color backgrounds are are added via the HTML color code and don't require a file. So it's much faster loading.

Why does the YouTube app say "Cannot Connect to YouTube" over Wifi or 3G?

Hi, everyone.
When I open the YouTube app with Wifi or 3G, it says "Cannot Connect to YouTube." I've browse a few sites, and the number one response is to reset the router. I tried resetting the router (Latest Apple AirPort Extreme) to factory default and Restoring the iPad 2 from Backup. I would believe the router issue to be plausible if 3G worked. Since YouTube doesn't work over 3G, I don't believe the router is the issue.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Why does the music app on my phone keep skipping songs?

My music app on my iPhone 4S keeps skipping songs. It will show the album
cover for a second then it will skip right to the next song and sometimes it will
skip multiple songs. For example, once it skipped over an entire playlist and
went to the screen at the end when it showed all of the songs in the playlist.
I have update 6.0.1 and I haven't used the music app since the last update.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Mine is 18.2Mb it gets to about 37mb tops, Try logging out of the app, remove all apps that are running in the background then shut your phone down and restart, if that does not work hold the power and home button and do a hard reset. You shouldnt loose any data at all but make sure you back up anyway before hand, its just like a forced reboot of a computer really.
