Why do i keep getting box: The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.
When changing web sites, a dialog box pops up every time Saying "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded".
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") -

Whenever I click on a link that opens a new tab using "about:tab", an error pops up. The error box is titled "Alert" and the message reads "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded."
However, once I click OK, the page loads just fine. At first, I thought it might be one of my add-ons (Iuse a bunch), but it still occurs after restarting in Safe Mode. Any thoughts?
I can even create the problem without clicking on a link inside a page if I simply type about:tab in the address bar.
I am using Firefox 12.0Wow! I actually solved this on my own. I didn't find any thread that helped, but after reading a few, I figured poking around in about.config would help... and it did!
Here is how I solved the problem:
# Typed '''about:config''' in address bar.
# When I got to the warning about voiding the warranty, clicked '''I'll be careful, I promise!'''
# I found the setting entitled '''browser.newtabl.url''' (use the '''Search:''' box).
# I double-clicked on the entry entitled '''browser.newtabl.url''' and deleted the info in the value portion.
# Clicked '''OK'''.
# Closed the tab.
# Restarted Firefox and problem was solved. -

I keep getting the alert window that says, "the url is not valid and cannot be loaded"
My computer is "online" but whenever I try to get on a website, the "Alert" box pops up in the middle of my screen saying, "the URL is not valid and cannot be loaded". This is only happening on Mozilla Firefox, I am able to use Internet Explorer without any problems. I do prefer to use Mozilla Firefox as my browser though.

When we start the internet or navigate to a new page, a new tab opens with the following alert: "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded." We "x" out of it, but a new tab, with the same alert appears. The problem occurs again when we try to navigate to another web page. A real nuisance. We've scanned the computer but found nothing but Adware cookies.

firefox v 3.6.13 is what I use. If I select something from "read Later" or a link from the home page to another site, I get that message - The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded. in a box that pops us a couple of times, then the site I want.
Please [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=713167 see this.] Installing [https://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5638 Visual C++ 2005 SP1] or the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 may help mitigate the issue.

I get this message whenever I open firefox or a new tab. Anything I had tabbed to the top has gone, and the original homepage which shows all my recent visits is invalid. The full message is:
The address isn't valid
The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.
Web addresses are usually written like http://www.example.com/
Make sure that you're using forward slashes (i.e. /).
Try Again.
Help mee!!!Hi fredmcd-hotmail
It's not that I'm typing anything in wrong, it's when I first open Firefox or a new tab. Instead of displaying the firefox page showing my recently viewed websites it's just an invalid URL. Why would I be blocked from this page?
Thanks -
This happens very often. When I open Mozilla sometimes I get an error stating that "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded." When I click ok the site stops loading and the tab is titled untiled.
This can be a problem with DDE.<br />

When I click on the three-bar icon (top right) and then on "Sign in to Sync" a new tab opens attempting to load "about:accounts" . . . the page that loads is an error . . . "Problem loading page" shows up on the tab and the page displays:
The address isn't valid
The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.
Web addresses are usually written like http://www.example.com/
Make sure that you're using forward slashes (i.e. /).

I am running Firefox 30.0 on a Dell XPS-18 and Windows 8.0.
I cannot access "about:accounts" at all. How do I fix this? The about:accounts page is a valid page in the current Firefox release.

I get this message quite often. I know the urls are valid because I visit the websites everyday. People have told me that maybe Firefox just doesn't support those websites very well and to try a different browser. It's driving me crazy. Any ideas?
