Why does Time Capsule cause my speaker to make noise

I just installed a Time Capsule.
I have a "base" speaker in proximity that has started to chirp.
Any way to stop the "interference" ?

You will need to move the devices further apart, or somehow try to block the wireless signals from the Time Capsule from reaching the subwoofer.
Make sure that the Time Capsule and subwoofer are not using the same electrical outlet or power strip.

  • HT3728 Why does time capsule every day or so stop backing up? Wifi still seems to work. Time capsule is only a few weeks old and is connected via Ethernet to the router and iMac.

Why does time capsule go missing from the network. The green light is lit at all times. I am unable to use the software the only thing I can do is power cycle time capsule, by unplugging and plugging the mains back in.
My time capsule is only a few weeks old, any ideas?
I am new to apple products very impressed with iPhone 5, I pad, iMac. Really not sure about time capsule!
    Thanks

An external drive is much more reliable.. the issue has to do with network connection and loss of something.. although I am sorry I cannot tell you exactly what. The computer is still connected, still works on internet but has actually lost the hard disk.. lost and cannot find it without a restart.
If you want to try a few changes it can help.
    1. If you are connected by ethernet make sure wireless is off in the imac.. having only one network connection is better than two.
    2. Redo the TC setup with all short names.. no spaces.. pure alphanumeric. Apple has these long names with spaces and characters like apostrophe by default but they are not a help.
    3. If the TC is the main router then reduce the dhcp lease time.. make it 20min.. that keeps everything refreshed and up to date.
None of those fix it but they may help stretch out the interval.

  • Why does time capsule flash amber

why is my time capsule flashing amber

You can find out by doing the following on your Mac.......
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon
Click on the amber dot and another window will open to explain more about why the Time Capsule is whining.

  • Why does Time Capsule hate older Macs running Tiger??

Time Capsule has ruined my network and my bloody Saturday!
I have never had this much trouble with an Apple product (at least since OS 8)...and I just waited on hold for over 64 minutes and then got disconnected. Sorry if this is jumbled, but it's been one lousy day!!
I got my Time Capsule, and I was looking forward to setting it up for backup once I got past the "easy" part of the router setup...uh huh...easy...for my new iMac (running 10.5.2) , no prob. For my 2002 Power Mac running 10.4.11 and an original AirPort card, another story. Just as well that my old PowerBook G4 is still at work.
After some struggles, I gave up setting up the more secure WPA password for the G4 and reverted to a far less secure WEP password. At least that way I could get the G4 connected wirelessly.
If I want to access drives connected to my G4 from the iMac, no problems; I can also see the Time Capsule drive from the G4; however I cannot for the life of me get the G4 to successfully mount the iMac (which was no problem before I switched routers).
I was using a dLink router (which I gave away because I thought I wouldn't need it anymore), and getting online wirelessly while connecting my iMac to the old Power Mac G4 via Gigabit Ethernet for file sharing on occasion. When I first set up the Time Capsule, I tried to keep the ethernet cable connected directly between the two machines (as I had successfully with the dlink). While the iMac could mount the G4 readily, the G4, despite seeing the iMac, couldn't. Even in iChat using Bonjour, the G4 could receive messages and send messages back to the iMac (in an established chatroom), but it would always fail if I tried to send a "private" message...
sigh I just tried again...I always just had 169.1.1.2 and 169.1.1.3 as manual IP's for my ethernet connection, while mainintaining wireless connections to router (and internet); never a problem...now, even with that &*?&! time Capsule completely out of the loop, the G4 refuses to connect to the iMac...simply won't do it (even when it sees it!)...now because of the snowstorm in Canada, can't even reach Apple...nice real nice...wish I never heard of Time Capsule...
Does anybody have any way to work around this crap??? This is ridiculous!

Well I hade so much trouble to change my AP Express and when it arrives, my TC... to put my macs in a subnet. And that's true, I had to create a new network profile. It seems there was a problem with the normal one, but I can't say from where.
The problem I still have is that it cannot memorize one time for all the device order. It's always changing and gives me troubles.

  • Why does Time Capsule no longer accept my password?

I noticed that Time Machine was showing an error. It said that it could not find the backup volume.
I tried connecting to the Time Capsule via Finder, but it wasn't connecting.
I opened up AirPort Utility and tried to access the Time Capsule, and it asked for a password, which it has never done before since the password is saved in my Keychain.
I enter the password, it says something like "Reading device settings" with a progress bar, and then it fails and asks for my password again.
I have tried on my Mac, on my rommate's WinXP machine, on my Mac booted into Windows 7, and on my iPhone. All of them have the password saved, but none of them are able to connect; I know the password is right, but the Time Capsule seemingly won't accept it.
Earlier I noticed that the AirPort Utility did show some more information than before, so it must have connected, but by the time I noticed it and tried to actually access the device settings, it was asking for my password again.
Why might this happen? What can I do to fix it? I don't think I changed anything, certainly not with the TimeCapsule, and I would really rather not have to go through a factory reset, then reconfigure the device, then make sure it works with every device in the house, etc.... and I certainly don't want to have to do that every time this randomly happens. If there anything I can do? Why might this be happening?
    I think I'm using Firmware 7.6.x, but since I can't connect I can't check it.

A combo of Lion and firmware 7.6 et al..
Go back to 7.5.2 as it is much more stable firmware for the rest of the known world.. I have issues with TC as soon as I upgrade to any firmware 7.6 and greater. And it works fine with 7.5.2 which is very solid.
Simply turn off the weekly update search so it doesn't continually start flashing amber to be updated.

  • Why does Time Capsule echo when time machine backs up?

Every time time machine backs up I get horrid echo sounds from my Bose speakers which are attached to the computer.  I use Time Capsule and have for quite a while but this is a new problem - probably about two weeks since it started.  It is driving me nuts as it is loud.

There is always a low hum from TC which i dislike but I moved it so it is faint.
Bad.. very bad.. there should not be a low hum "always" from a TC.. If the hum is 50hz, 60hz 100hz or 120hz.. it is a power supply issue that probably just got worse. They do not hum in normal use.. there is a fault in the power supply.
Take it back to apple and get it replaced. Wipe it before you take it in.. they should exchange it.
In normal operation you can put your ear up against the TC.. and power it on..
The start up cycle goes like this.
Fan will immediately start up.. and front LED will flash momentarily green go off then begin flashing amber.
Fan will cut off and the hard disk will spin up.. this is several seconds into the boot cycle.
Hard disk will settle to normal operation.. disk test complete. TC will finish the boot. LED will go green (if everything is good).. after about 1min the disk will stop spinning. From this point the TC should make no noise at all. Audio noise at least. If you have internal power supply hum.. it has faulty transformer or some other part. Since it is under warranty pass it back for replacement.

  • Why does the printer suddenly wake up and make noises and the tray moves but not printing?

It behaves as if it is about to print something but nothing there to print. It is connected wirelessly. It is rather eerie.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Some printers will wake themselves up on a regular basis to calibrate the print heads or to clean the toner components.
You usually can't entirely disable this feature because it's an important way to maintain the printer health. Depending on the printer you can sometimes change how often this maintenance is done.

  • Why does my macbook pro 2011 keyboard/trackpad make noises like it's bending/crinkling when i move the computer?

Happens when i reposition the macbook.  Also occurs when i apply slight pressure to case (wresting my wrists on it), but doesn't require it to happen.  2011 Thunderbolt 15" macbook pro - stock.

Check if an AASP (Apple Authorised Service Provider) is closer, as some do not trust Geek Squad to diagnose something as simple as "all the keys are missing". But judge for yourself.: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1434

  • Why does Time Machine disappear?

Why does Time Machine disappear each restart?

Suggest that you power cycle the entire network, as things are likely out of sequence
Power every device off on the network, order is not important
Wait a few moments, then start the modem first and let it run by itself for 2-3 minutes
Start the Time Capsule the same way
Start each network device one at a time about a minute apart
    Check for proper operation

  • Why does iTunes Match cause iTunes to crash ?

Why does iTunes Match cause iTunes to crash ?

My problem is similar.  It began right after I allowed an Adobe update to run.  (Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.45.2 is recorded in my Registry.) Now every single website I try to open triggers a window (see below) and repeats many times.
It makes no difference whether I "Allow" or not.  I think it runs this window for every flash object on that website.  It is occurring while I enter this post!
It makes using the Internet MOST challenging.  Surely this is causing major problems for everyone.
I have IE8 on Windows Vista.
Here's the text from the message:
"A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer.

Should I appeal to Microsoft or Adobe for a solution?  Is is possible to install the previous version?
    Thanks for any wisdom.

  • Does Time Capsule works as a External Hard Drive?

Does Time Capsule works as a External Hard Drive?

The Time Capsule works as a network drive.
An external drive connects to your Mac using either the USB or FireWire ports.
If your real question is to ask whether you can store other data on the Time Capsule drive....you can.

  • How does Time Capsule handle the same files on multiple computers?

I'm a writer who works on my MacBook Pro, the family's desktop PC and soon hope to have my own Apple desktop.
Is it possible to have the most current document(s) available no matter which machine I'm on?
Does Time Capsule go to each computer, find the most recent version and back it up?
Does it even work with PCs?

Is it possible to have the most current document(s) available no matter which machine I'm on?
    Sorry, but no.
Does Time Capsule go to each computer, find the most recent version and back it up?
Time Machine will backup any changes to each Mac hourly
Does it even work with PCs?
Only if you manually drag/drop or copy/paste PC files to the Time Capsule drive

  • Does time capsule make duplicate copies of the files those are already exist in it?

Does time capsule make duplicate copies of the files those are already exist in it?

It's not clear just what you mean.
If you're backing-up your Mac, via the Time Machine software, to a Time Capsule or external HD, then yes, by default, Time Machine will copy everything the first time.  Subsequent backups will copy only what's new or changed.
If you mean, can you back up other data on a Time Capsule, no, not with Time Machine.  It can only back up TO a network location, not FROM one.

  • Does time capsule back-up files which I am currently working on in a program?

    Hey everybody,
If I am working on a file in a program, does time capsule back this file up? So if the program(third party) crashes after half an hour for example, can I still get the file back or would it be incomplete because it was open during back-up?
    Thanks in advance.
    Jelle

Most apps don't work with the actual file on disk; they copy it into memory and make the changes there.
Like most backup apps, Time Machine doesn't (can't) back up anything in memory, only things on disk.
When you Save a file you're working on, or done with, it goes to disk and will be included on the next backup.
Similarly, if the app has an "autosave" facitity, that will copy the "working" version to disk.  Many apps do that to a separate file (often named the same as the original, but with something like "autosaved" appended).  Lion apps that support Lion's AutoSave facility save it to the original file.
