Why does vault say iCloud Drive has insufficient space when there is plenty available?

I have 49.7GB of Aperture photo data that I want to back up to a Vault. I am running Yosemite and recently upgraded my iCloud drive to 200GB with only 13.7GB currently being used. When I set up a Vault using the iCloud drive it says I have insufficient space. Clearly I don't!
My iCloud account confirms that the space is available. Any suggestions please?

An Aperture vault cannot be stored in iCloud drive. If you put it on a synced volume it will be corrupted by syncing. Write your vault to a locally connected disk like described here for Aperture Libraries:

A vault is essentially an Aperture library, so the same holds. I tested putting Aperture libraries, vaults, and iPhoto Libraries onto iCloud Drive. After the first sync they needed repairing.

How much free space is on your Mac? You can only write files to iCloud Drive that will fit on all devices that are connected to iCloud Drive. iCloud Drive is not like an external disk - it is a shared storage for syncing your Macs. Delete any traces of Silverlight from your HD, you will be able to send attachments normally thereafter.

You may be in an area where Rogers doesn't yet have 4G. If so, the iPad will drop back to 3G and will display that to let you know you're running on the older network.

Why do my external hard drives not free space when I delete things?

I have a Macbook Pro running Lion 10.7. I have a problem where my external hard drives tend not to free up space when I delete items from them. I have been resorting to regularly reformatting my drives for the pen drives, but now it is happening with my large backup drives. It happens for both OS-journaled and FAT-32 formatted disks. Any answers?
Update: I checked the hidden folders, and they comprise:
.feventsd
.Spotlight-V100
.Trashes
There are no sizes given for the hidden folders and it says I don't have persmission to see the contents of the trash.

When you move items to the trash, no space is freed since you're simply moving a file into a different folder (the .Trashes folder). When you empty the trash, the space will be freed. You must empty the trash while the external drive is connected for it to take effect.

When i try to update my itunes to 10.6 or whichever it is. why does it say that it has encountered problems before i can even start the update. it just says i have to try to install again but it does the same thing so i cant download the new itunes

i need help and i have the new itunes thing ready to be installed but it just doesn't install. it says that it encounters problems so it stops. what can i do?'

Why does it say my membership has expired?

Hi... I am getting notifications that my membership has expired. This is an issue I have been dealing with since Monday. To resolve it, out administrator re-assigned my seat yesterday and sent me a new invitation, of which I accepted... I am still getting the expired notifications when trying to sign in.

NOT resolved.... I went to try to access an app again ad experienced the same problem...
I get this when I try to open any app (dream weaver, photoshop etc...)
Then this when I click Try again
Then this again when I click continue...

Why does CC say I can 'Try' an app when I have pre-paid 1 year?

I am having trouble downloading apps from the Creative Cloud app on my Mac book Pro.
It says Try where it should say Install.
Why is this? I don't want to have to DL the app from my browser, it kind of defeats the object of having the CC app.

I believe if your subscription does not include applications it can list them as Try rather than Install. If you are not getting access to what you paid for try contacting Adobe Support directly thru chat.

Why does iTunes say my iPad is "over capacity" when it isn't?

Hi. I saw someone posted about there iPhone last night and added my question there, but since I've not had a response I will create a new question.
I went to sync my iPad yesterday and I got an error saying it was "over capacity." I checked online and saw many discussions about the Other folder (for lack of a better name), so checked the information on how to overcome this. None of the solutions helped so I did a Restore. The iPad set up again and I went to sync, but I get the same error. Not it claims I am 1.8 GB "over capacity." In reality, I am trying to sync about 7 GB of data on an iPad with over 13 GB of free space. I tried updating iTunes (done), checked for an update to the iPad (I have the latest version of the OS), and tried rebooting both the computer and the iPad. I still get the same error.
How can I get iTunes to sync my data?

Are you sure it's not iCloud that's "over capacity".
How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.

Why does Numbers say I need a newer version when I am using the latest version

I am getting the error message "You need a newer version of Numbers to open this file". However, this is a file I created yesterday with this version of numbers.
What gives ? If I ck my numbers version it says no updates available.

This is confusing to a lot of people. When you downloaded the new version of Numbers the old version remained on your Mac. The new version is in Applications. The old version is in a subfolder within Applications. The icons look similar so it's easy to think you're trying to open a document with the new version whereas in fact the old version has been activated and is trying to open it.
If you tend to open documents from Finder then right-click and Open With ... Numbers.app (3.0).
Or you can open Numbers 3.0 (the one in the Applications folder, not the iWork '09 subfolder) and open the document from there.
Any icons you had on the Dock before the upgrade are of course still pointing to the old version.

I have a 100Gb external harddrive formatted for mac's only. It didnt show the first time but then showed the second and third time i plugged it in and now it wont show again. why is this? Is There a way this can be fixed?

Finder > Preferences > General > Show these items on the Desktop.

Why does it say that the USB is empty when I try to connect my ipod nano to my car?

I have other devices that will connect to my car without a problem so I know it's not the car... When I plug in my nano it says that it is empty but there are clearly songs on it and I can't find anything for that trouble shooting...

Does the car's manufacturer/stereo say that your particular model and generation iPod is compatible with it? That would be the first place to start.

Why does it say my contact's not registered when he is?

I have my friend in my contacts. I tried adding him on iMessage on my iPad, but it says he's not registered. But I saw him use it on his iPhone. What's happening?

An iPhone can send SMS messages like any other cell phone or smart phone via the carrier data plan. The iOS messages app only works with other iOS devices and Mac computers running Mountain Lion or Mavericks. So are you sure that your friend wasn't just sending an SMS message? He still has to turn on and activate iMessage in order to use it on his phone.
