Why does Verizon have to make a phone look ugly with it's logo???

So, I have this nice otherwise good looking phone, except for the freaking Verizon logo on the front of the glass at the top. I was looking at other providers' G3 and none of them did that. What is up with this and why do they feel the need to do this? Verizon didn't make this phone so they need to get their branding off of it. Stuff like this makes me want to go back to AT&T, and I think is the reason Verizon doesn't even get some of the nice phones that come out...........AT&T will at least allow them (and they work because of GSM) on their network. Anyway sorry for the rant.......just aggravated.

The branding is money for Verizon and LG. The phone don't work any different from non branded LG phones.
if you go to a carrier as soon as the phone comes on you see all the Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile or AT&T internal crap.
That would or should tick you off more.
Loads of other problems in the world much more important than branding on a cellular phone.

Suddenly all my tabs closed. Then Windows told me I had a gazillion infections. The main problem with malware is that it uses the installation to proliferate by contacting hostile servers to download more of the same rogue code.
Firefox doesn't have the option to "Run" a file. You can only "Save File" or "Cancel". If you downloaded it with IE8, then yes, you can run it, but that's not what I wanted you to do.
What you should do now is to disable System Restore. You can open System Properties by hitting the Windows logo key and Pause/Break key together. Then click the "System Restore" tab. Then checkmark the box which says "''Turn off System Restore on all drives''". Reboot to clear its contents. System Restore unfortunately makes a backup of all executables which includes viruses so that when you reboot without deleting them first, System Restore reinstates them again.
After you complete that step, run Avast and Malwarebytes again to make sure the system is clean.
Then go to the Windows Update site (link on your start menu) and install the missing patches which enabled your machine to become infected in the first place.
Once the system is clean, repeat step one to download Firefox again, but please do not run the file. If you don't see the option to "Save File", cancel the download, but it should be there. Run the file after you download it to the desktop.

If you have an original iPad 1, the latest version of iOS it can run is iOS 5. So you should be able to update no problem.
Update iTunes to the latest version (11.0.2). Then simply plug your iPad into the computer and open iTunes. Click the iPad either in the sidebar or the top navigation bar. Then attempt to update the software. If it doesn't work, please post the exact error message.
Note that it would be wise to first ensure you back up the iPad.

3 Adobe CEF Helpers at a time, even with no adobe apps open, sometimes using up to or above 10% CPU
Core Sync that never goes away, usually taking up about 2% of CPU
Adobe Creative Cloud always runs as a background process

Most of those processes don't slow down your system, they just reside in memory. The rest is one of those "Mmmh...?" things - without actual system info those percentages are meaning less and them being so high to me means that your system must be somewhat weak overall. The CoreSync naturally is tied to the various sync features and you can turn those off if you don't need them. The CEF helpers and various updaters can simply be turned off in the CC app settings and updater settings - there is no need to launch the CC app every time you start your computer if you don't actually plan on updating something or using the cloud storage.

Why does Apple have to make updates every month, outdating any games or any software that you had?

I am frustrated because I just bought a new game and it would be really fun if Apple didn't make Lion, outdating the game, just so I could use "the App Store." They advertise it as being everything, but my computer is old so I CAN'T use the magnificent trackpad stuff and all that. Partition your hard drive, or use a bootable external hard drive (or both). Have different OS versions on different volumes, and boot into them as needed.
Example -
Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) will run PPC apps, such as AppleWorks and Diablo II. When I want to use those, I boot using the partition on which I have 10.6.8.
When I want to use iCloud features, etc., I boot using a partition on which I have Lion.

Every time I connect to internet I get the pop up, channel 500 is on permamenet upgrade mode, and just like everybody else who had 35 service I WAS FORCED TO UPGRADE. Enough already!

Do you have the Verizon Toolbar installed in your browser? If so, that is probably the reason you see that, disable the toolbar and see if that doesn't fix the problem.
FWIW, I never, ever see what you are describing.

Why does my Mac air make a lot of noise with the fan inside?

I bought Mac air one year ago. at the beginning, I satisfied with the product. However, 8 months later, the laptop made a lot of noise from the fan inside. When I I run about 4 or 5 solfwares, it starts warmer and make noise. I feel so unhappy with this. How can I fix it. I bought AppleCare programme for 3 years as well

The mid 2011 MacBook Air fans are pretty quiet but not silent and since they are the only mechanical decice you'll hear - there's no hard drive or DVD drive to make noise - it is possible that what you hear is normal. On the other hand, fans can go bad - bearings fail and dust an make the blades become unbalanced. None of us can help - you'll need to take the computer to a repair center or Apple Store and let an Apple repair person determine if the fans need replacing or not. If so, your warranty will cover the cost.

Why does Verizon charge me $30 to buy a new phone and renew my two year plan? That seems counter-intelligent in a day where other carriers are begging for my business. I've been a customer for 10 years but am considering switching on principle.

Verizon has chosen a price they charge for providing a service. Part of that price is an "upgrade" fee if you choose to purchase a phone at a ~$400 discount. ALL this is doing is lowering the amount of discount on the phone. It is, however, the price Verizon has set to provide their service. You are paying it in exchange for that provided service. You may not agree with it, that is your choice and are free to go elsewhere. If you are in the position to pay this "upgrade" fee, you are NOT under contract and are free to change without penalty. Your choice. If you pay it, you have made your choice.
Yes, other "smaller carriers" can live without it because they are forced to, not because they "want" to or because it is "right". They have to have some sort of incentive to attract customers. The bigger carriers do this by providing a larger footprint for their service. Smaller carriers cannot do so and have to resort to other methods. Lower price is one of those. There are trade-offs in life. Choose your trade-offs. I prefer to pay a slightly higher price for more reliable service. I have been with several providers in the past, Verizon provides me the most reliable service of those I have tried.

Thanks for the zip code pfekete. I looked into the coverage in your area and I do see you are in an extended 1X data coverage which explains why you're not connecting to 3G. What phone do you have? Log out of iCloud in the System/iCloud preference pane and disable Photo Stream in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane. Then log back in and re-enable, respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream on your Mac.

The forums would be full of people complaining that you had to go through an additional step ( opening the phone app) to get to contacts. I use the contacts app from the home screen far more often then I use it in relation to calling someone.
I like the way it is far more than the way you propose.

Ok, it took you two days to come up with that response. Just the fact that
I have to contact "Prepaid Customer No-service" as apposed to customer
service contacting me (you know who I am) reiterates the point. Why are

I work in a customer service business. If I treated my customer half as bad
as you do, I wouldn't have a job. My customers have certain expectations of
what I can and can't do. First and for most "NO" is not an option. You
never tell a customer that, period.
The truly sad thing is that Verizon has a great product. But they aren't
willing to stand behind it. I went to Verizon because you have the best
coverage. However, every interaction I have since the initial sale has been
horrible. I will give your people a week to contact me directly. After that
I will have a new phone from a new carrier.

Have the same issue too. Apple can you please change this annoying feature. You are making long distance relationships more difficult.
I like how Facetime was with the old iOS, where nothing was dimmed. OR at least maybe if you could give users the option to turn on or off dimming of facetime.

Make Sure iOS is updated to the latest version
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings
