Why does version 24 no longer remember usernames and passwords, even when it's selected to remember? I installed it on 2 of my computers, XP pro and XP home op

On both of the computers, it does not remember the password or usernames, on XP pro the selection box's are shaded and un-selectable, and on XP home they are selected but it does not remember them either!

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
There is a difference between remembering the name and password in the Password Manager and a "remember me" check box on a web page to log you in automatically. 
The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and that is send to the server. 
If that "remember me" cookie is removed or gets corrupted or is not send to the server then the server won't remember you anymore and you need to sign in once again.

We're still a XP/2003 shop, and I'm testing out Windows 7 with our Roaming Profiles and folder redirection. So far everything looks to be working great, but have a question regarding the profile. This test user has
\\Server\Profiles$\TestUser in their AD account as the profile path. That folder was empty before logging on to the Windows 7 machine. When I logged off the Windows 7 machine,
\\Server\Profiles$\TestUser is still empty, but now there is a
\\Server\Profiles$\TestUser.V2 which appears to have the users profile in it.
Can someon explain why it didn't use the folder that already existed? Also, once we move to 7, will I have to go through each AD account and append a .V2 to the end of each profile path?

Why does firefox beta download ask for adminstrator password but when I put it in, its says wrong password or user name?

whenever I try to download firefox beta on my laptop it asks for an adminstrator password but when i put it in it says wrong user " name or password" so I try to by pass that by trying to download as user but then nothing happens the dialog box disappears and I have to start the download all over again. I'm trying to sync firefox with my android phone but I can't get the desktop/laptop version going.

Since installing Windows 7 there have been some weird goings on with my laptop.
I kept muddling around with this and ran a few diagnostics only to find that everything was fine. There was an incompatibility problem with Windows 7 and Firefox (safe mode) which I cared for by simply agreeing with everything Windows 7 wanted to do. It made an adjustment and apparently between the two programs they worked it out.
I tried downloading Firefox 4 beta one more time...using a fresh download in my Firefox browser and from the Firefox webpage. Oddly, this time the program downloaded saved itself to my laptop. I was able to open and install it without incident.
Now, I am all sync'd up!

It is very frustrating even to receive an email from itunes support telling me: well, if your code or card are not working call your bank, which I did and everything is fine, it matches with existing acct in itunes...

I'm also on iPhone 4, iOS 6, and have exactly the same problem. I've tried resetting privacy settings, turning restrictions on and off, deleting and reinstalling apps. Nothing seems to work. The lists of apps in privacy settings are all empty, except for location services. When using Tweetbot the app is regularly asking for permission to access my twitter account, but even when I allow that, the app doesn't show in privacy settings.

I want all passwords, browsing history, everything to clear when I shut down. Currently, it maintains my logins for certain sites. Due the confidentiality of my work, I do not want this to happen. I went to options and set it to clear upon closing, but that is not working.

If you mean websites remembering you by saving cookies via session restore then you can try this.
You can set the pref browser.sessionstore.privacy_level to 2 (never) or 1 (non-HTTPS, default in Firefox 3 versions) on the about:config page to disable saving cookies via session restore.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the Steps in this article to force the device into Recovery Mode.

Why does Mac force boot to the recovery partition even when an external recovery option is selected? This disables the option of reformatting the internal drive because it is in use running the recovery partition.I have yet to find a viable solution.

To make a very tedious story short, My Mac decided that it would crash and not reboot the OS. I decided to bite the bullet and just reformat, sacrificing my very important data. I have tried just about every trick in the book. There is one one major problem I am facing. When I try to reformat the internal HDD using Disk Utility. It fails to unmount. "Make sure that all applications and files are closed on this disk.", Suggesting that the computer is ignoring my command at startup to boot from my external recovery drive, and using the Recovery partition on the problem drive, making it impossible to reformat the drive. When the internal drive is removed and connected by another method it is not recognized.
I failed to read the fine print on the box that suggested I purchase another Mac to fix problems with my primary Mac because any utility with the potential to fix the problem can only be run on a functioning Mac.

Booting to any version of the Recovery system, the built in partition on the internal drive, a recovery partition on an external drive or from the Online internet system will not stop you from formatting the Macintosh HD partition on the internal drive. So your problem is not that you are booting from the internal Recovery HD partition. It is probably your internal hard drive has problems, failing.
You could try booting the system from the Online system. At startup hold down the Option/Alt + Command + r keys and keep them held down until you see a globe on the screen. That will boot the system from across the internet from the Apple servers completely removing the internal drive as a boot source. If you still can't erase and format or repartition and format the internal drive then your drive has problems and will need to be replaced.

Why does LV not close, but remains in memory, even when it has stopped running?

Whenever I run LV7.1 on this Panasonic Toughbook CF18 (XP pro sp3) after stopping or closing LV, it remains open on the toolbar and in the task manager; the applications window indicates "not responding" and I must close it manually. the Processes window shows about 25-30k memory usage for each instance. If I run an exe again, each time it leaves another program open on the toolbar and in memory. It does the same thing whether I'm running an exe written in LV, or just opening the LV71, even without loading or running a vi. I suspect it is a setting somewhere in windows setup but I don't know what to look for.
LV has done this ever since it was installed on this machine, several years ago, and can be annoying when I do a lot of work with it. Is there somthing I can do to make LV close completely when exiting?

So, what you are seeing is that each VI that you open in the development environment remains open in memory even after you close the VI? When you manually close a VI, you still see it located in task manager and it is listed as not responding. The only way you can release the memory and remove it from task manager is to manually 'end task?' This is also true for executables, even though you close the .exe it still remains in memory? Have you seen this same behavior on a different computer, or does it seem unique to this particular machine/setup? Does this happen with any other programs? Perhaps some screen shots of your desktop and task manager would be helpful in clearing up what is actually happening.

Are you turning the iPod Off via depressing the Power button until the Slide to Power Off appear and sliding it? If not the iPod is sleeping and the iPod is still doing stuff when sleeping and it is normal for the battery to fully discharge is a few days, especially if wifi is on.
If you are really powering the iPod off that is not normal and indicates a hardware problem.

Photoshop ask for registration every time I launch and won't except user name and password even when signed in

I have tried for two weeks with adobe chat and have got nowhere. Every time I try to launch photoshop it asks to register the software, I pay monthly via CC but every time I enter my details it thanks me and says "enjoy the software" tries to launch and then starts the process again. I have disabled firewall but it still will not launch.
Anyone had similar problems?

You don't mention the OS you have, if it's windows right click on the shortcut and select "Run as Administrator" you should get the message again and then it should go away

Are you using Windows or Mac? Are you on a managed network. If no Try signing out and signing in of CC desktop. If still the same issue remove CC desktop, run the cleaner tool: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html and try installing again.
Create a new user account and check whether the same issue persists.

It sounds like you've installed Mavericks. You can confirm this by clicking on the Apple located at the top left of the screen and choosing "About This Mac" from the menu. You should see a window appear with the text "Version 10.9.1" near the middle.
If it says "Version 10.9.1", then you've installed Mavericks. It still says "Download" in the App Store because you can still download the operating system after installing it. This is useful if you want to download it for a friend, or create a USB boot drive.
