Why does write opens in a new window

Several days ago all my addresses disappeared and when I click write it opened in new window without send button or any menu. I finally found the solution on ask a question. I can not find how to restore to the default that allows write to return to the normal operation mode.

When you click on 'Write' it should open in a new window.
This has always been the case and is normal.
However, the lack of menu and buttons is a nuisance and can be easily restored.
Click on 'Write' button to open a new write message.
Press '''Alt''' key on keyboard to reveal a temporary 'Menu Bar'
'View' > 'Toolbars' > select: 'Menu Bar' to make permanent.
Then to get 'Send' Splling, Attach etc buttons:
'View' > 'Toolbars' > select : 'Composition Toolbar'
To make the 'Contacts Sidebar' visible:
'View' > 'Select 'Contacts Sidebar'
or toggle the view using '''F9''' key

Why does Firefox open in a new window with some sites? I hate this.

In some instances, a new browser opens with my homepage when typing in certain websites. I didn't have this problem before upgrading to 7. I hate this.

That are probably JavaScript window.open() calls that specify window dimensions.
You can divert those to a new tab.

Unable to upload files using firefox, be it dropbox, gmail or any other websites where we need to attach files. It does not open up a new window to choose file.

all of a sudden im unable to attach files in any of the websites. Im using firefox version 30 and when I click to attach file it does not open up a new window where we can choose the file from my computer. It happens almost in all websites that I use (gmail, dropbox, other websites).
This was not the case before, seem some problem with firefox.. can somebody fix this at the earliest. thanks

please check if this problem appears as well when you try to download a file, does this happen again when you try to download a file?
if so there must be a problem with your HDD controler, to solve this issue follow th steps:
1.Right Click on My Computer, Select Properties
2.Click on Device Manager in Top Left corner
3.expand the IDA/ATI/ATAPI controllers
4.right click on the one which is related to your HDD
5.click on Uninstall
6.Restart
when you restart your windows the OS will try to install the drivers again, if this happens then restart again and check if the problem is solved, if no try to install the HDD drivers and related drivers manually and then restart your machine

Target for a .pdf with the link target _blank does not open in a new window.

I have a simple html document with links to .pdf documents all set to _blank but only one opens in a new window. The others open as _self. Changing the target doesn't seem to make a difference.

The Template .dwt file is only used locally by DW itself, there's no reason to upload it to the server unless you intend to share it with someone. You have to upload each individual page that the Template updates, every time you update the template and propagate that change across the child pages.
It would probably be better to use a server side include. That way, you could update one file then upload it and all of your pages would automatically carry that update...

Firefox 5.0 does not open link into new window

Firefox 5.0 does not open link into new tab. I have a netbook also and tab options work fine, links open into a new window. However on this Dell it does not work. Tab options in Firefox and Google are set right, but don't work that way. Running Windows 7 on Dell, Windows Starter on netbook.

When using the FILE SEND LINK function, why does the system launch a new window if the email app is already open and active?

I normally have my Yahoo! and Gmail e-mail accounts open and logged into the entire time my system is on. Using your instructions, I have set theFireFox 'mailto' option to USE GMAIL.

Seems Gmail automatically logged me out. When I logged back in and tried again, it still opened a new window, but used my open account to process the e-mail.
Must it always open a new window (which then needs to be closed) in executing this function?

Clicking on the Now Playing does not open in a new window

When you click on the artwork in the Now Playing fieild in the lower left corner, a window should pop up that displays the artwork. Mousing over it shows the controls. When I click on it, it shows a new window is open on my taskbar, but it doesn't display on my desktop. Does anyone have a solution to my problem. I have iTunes 10.6.1.7

I have a problem a tabs each time I open a fresh webapge it will open up in a previously open page instead of opening in a fresh page. WHY? BTW Open in a new windows instead is ticked

I have two tabs up "facebook and download.com" now if I click on a fresh page I hope to see a 3rd tab open up but no! it just opens up in one of the two tabs I have already have open.
I have no idea why this is!

The setting in Tools > Options > Tabs: "New pages should be opened in": "a new tab/window" is for links that specify a target window to open the link in.<br />
That option allows you to divert such links to a new tab or to the current tab.
* Hold down the Ctrl key and left-click a link or middle-click a link to open a link or bookmark in a new tab.
* Hold down the Shift key in addition to the Ctrl left-click or middle-click to toggle loading in the background.
* Hold down Shift and left-click a link to open a link in a new window.
Links that do not specify a target window open by default in the current tab.

[Nightly] Why bookmarks keep opening in a new window (library)?

In the past, when I clicked "Display your bookmarks" a 1/4 screen size window (not the library) used to appear with all my bookmarks.
Now, however, when I click the same button, a window named "Library" is displayed with the bookmarks.
Is that changeable? Any option to return to the old way they appeared?

Sorry, but the sidebar is not what I were looking for. What I want is that little ''window'' showed when you pressed "Display your bookmarks", just as it happens when you press "Customize and Control Nightly".

POSTURL opening PHP in new window (and shouldn't)

We are calling a PHP file from Authorware 7. Originally,
nothing would
happen when the php file was called and the server would time
out and act as
though the php file could not be found (with a 5006 error).
But we finally
realized that it wanted to open the php file in a new window
- with a popup.
We are using a normal posturl:
temp2 :=PostURL(NetLocation^"gSysSet.php","",30)
All the php file has in it is 1 line with a echo command.
Does anyone know why the php would open in its own window?
There was a posting earlier about POSTurl and php and we have
checked the
same things that they had in the php.ini file, but cannot
make it just
execute from Authorware and return a result - instead of
returning the
result in a new window. What happens is we still get the 5006
error in
Authorware because the result is returned in a new window and
opened in a
new window so Authorware isn't really communicating with the
php file.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Links to files doesn't open in a new window

I've noticed that links (that refers to a specific file) created in Adobe Indesign doesn't open in a new window like the links that refers to a website when I autoconverts it in Acrobat Pro X.
Example:
LINK1: http://www.acrobat.com/testfile.pdf <--- does not open in a new window when clicked
LINK2: http://www.acrobat.com/testfolder <--- opens in a new window when clicked
Are there any way to fix this?
Will the same problem occur if I create the links in Acrobat instead?
I'm asking this because I don't want the form to disappear when the links are clicked.

Firefox should divert the new window to a new tab when you check this box in Google's Search Settings:
"Open search results in a new browser window"
I can't think of any reason for Firefox to divert a new window back into ''the same tab''.
In case one of your add-ons is the culprit, could you try Firefox's Safe Mode?
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox using Help>Restart with Add-ons Disabled. Don't check any of the boxes in the [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode] dialog, just Continue in Safe Mode.
Does it make any difference?

Why does it open new finder windows?

suddenly, without my doing anything, click on foldes in the finder ends up opening new windows, so that I have a million windows open by the time I get to the folder I need. i looked in the prefernces and I don't have the "open folders in new window" option checked.

2. Trash the file com.apple.finder.plist

Why does firefox opens new window/tab when i click on a link

if I click any link in Firefox it will open another blank window in addition to the link clicked, blank window opens on top. how do I stop this

If a website codes its links to open in a new window, you can divert that to a new tab.
The basic setting for this is here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Tabs
The first checkbox: "Open new windows in a new tab instead"
In some cases, a website uses a script to launch a new window with special features, such as a set height/width, or with one or more toolbars removed. To avoid breaking sites that create dialog boxes this way, Firefox does not normally divert this kind of window to a new tab. However, if you wanted to send these to a tab as well, there is a hidden setting you can change. (See: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1035103#answer-662627])
If Firefox is sending ALL links to new windows or new tabs, you might have an extension like Tab Mix Plus or Tab Utilities which changes the built-in tab handling features. You would need to explore their settings to get it just the way you want it.
