Why doesn't converting a DNG with a later converter update metadata?

Example:
Convert a 7D CR2 with DNG Converter 5.5. This gives certain values of metadata such as color matrices & white level.
Now convert that same CR2 with DNG Converter 5.6, and this gives different values of such metadata. (That is reasonable. After all, 5.5 was a beta version as far as converting 7D CR2s was concerned).
Now convert a DNG output by DNG Converter 5.5 with DNG Converter 5.6. (You can use the DNG Converter on old DNG files, of course). The metadata in the new DNG remains with the original 5.5 values.
Why?
Why not, as least as an option, generate the latest metadata? Don't we, in future, (at least as an option) want to be able to use the latest DNG Converter to bring our old DNGs up to the latest state?

Your old one is physically incapable of running Siri. This is akin to a person being upset that their 3 year old DVD player can't play BluRays...i mean the disc fits in the try so it should work right??????

You gotta have siri, buy a new device. Your iPad 2 will NEVER be able to handle the software.

I'm a huge supporter of apple. Had the iPod, itouch, and the iPad. Both the iPod and the itouch I got near their release date. So, I was kid of mad that the newer ones had better features for the same price. Then I get the iPad 2nd generation. DNG files do not contain some metadata supplied by the camera, which can be used by the manufacturer's software. Thus, if you don't keep the original Raw photo, you will lose this information.
If your 1000% sure you're never going to use the manufacturer's software, then this isn't a problem. But who can be sure what software you will be using 10 years from now?

Why doesn't my artwork go with the songs when I transfer them?

If I make a playlist from songs on my PC and these all have artwork then transfere said playlist to my phone the artwork doesn't follow.
Is there any good reason for this?

iTunes will display a cover in many of it's views provided at least one track from the album has embedded artwork. The iPod appears to load only the artwork from track one to create the cover flow and album views which means that it can sometimes fail to display art for albums even when you can see the art in iTunes. Further, when tracks are played on the iPod, artwork is displayed if and only if it exists in the currently playing track, so track one may show art while track two does not.
*How to find tracks without artwork*
To find all the tracks without artwork so that you can update them you can try http://www.stum.de/itunes-find-tracks-without-artwork/ for Windows or http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=trackswithoutartwork for Macs. Use Google, Amazon, Discogs etc. to locate relevant images. Ideally these should be square, 320x320 pixels or above and borderless to give the best results in the various menus. If you have artwork for some tracks of an album, but not others, find the album in the main music folder, select a track with artwork, right-click (Option-Click for Macs) on the art & click copy, then select all the tracks of the album, use CTRL-I or Command-I to *Get Info* and then paste the image into the artwork box.
I say 320x320 because I believe (from using TouchCopy) that it's the size used in the iPod cache so if you're going to crop or resize you might as well work to that size. Otherwise 200x200 is probably good enough.
*Rebuild artwork cache*
Sometimes the artwork cache becomes corrupt and fails to show correct artwork, even when this is properly set up in iTunes. To rebuild the artwork cache, connect your iPod to iTunes. Locate the iPod in the Sources pane on the left-hand side, then select the Music tab. Remove the tick from *Display album artwork on your iPod*, sync the iPod, reselect the option & sync again.

Why doesn't Apple come out with a karaoke software for mac?

I bought a Mac Intel based specifically as I was told Intel was more compatible with software I wanted. I am looking for karaoke software that will let me add lyrics and sync them to the audio portion of the file which is called a karaoke disc CD plus G to mean graphics but which is really just text rolled by the screen in time to the music. not necessarily a graphic.
this disc is then taken to someone's karaoke machine and performed. Everywhere I go there is free software to do this, but only for a PC, tons of software free that I can't touch, unless I turn this mac into a windows vista or other. that is also costly.
I have a software called TunePrompter, and another called Audacity. installed on my snow leopard is Idvd creator software. I am currently experimenting with it. I also have Express burn but it's $40 to get it registered and since my trial period expired before I opened it, I don't know if it will burn a CDG disc. or CDG file.
does anybody know if Express burn has the right drive for a CDG? I cannot seem to find on my puter specs information, but I'll bet it has the HL-DT-ST mac drives which I heard would allow me to burn a CDG easily.
I don't know if garage band would do any of this. It certainly wouldn't sync lyrics to music would it? My Tune Prompter allows me to add lyrics, find them on the net, and add them and sync them. then it saves them to either Quicktime or movies.
I've done some experimenting with DVD but haven't taken the finished discs to play on a universal karaoke player yet, but heard that these machines can play a karaoke DVD also. it's not prob getting music burned, it's a big prob for mac users to burn the lyrics with the sub channel of the disc.
Was hoping Apple could produce something like Kjams for us. as it is now I'd have to buy Kjams, along with Kjams producer, along with the burner plug; all this for 150. PC users are making karaoke with their free software. whaaaaa!!! ok Mac, that's my 2 cent desire.

Hi. kJams is great. Works just like iTunes. It's not expensive for the amount of work it's taken to produce and I can tell you as someone who has used it professionally it's head and shoulders above anything else out there.
try running Karaoke on a Windows PC and after it's crashed a few times and your singers are getting rially p@ss@d at you you will once again see the benefits of why you are using a Mac.
iTunes so called karaoke discs are not true karaoke because iTunes cannot sell the discs that are cd-g format and it's specifically cd-g that karaoke video requires to show the words.
iKaraoke Tune Prompter lets you create your own Karaoke cd-g tracks and is as equal to anything I've seen on a PC and it's free software too. So get creating.

Why doesn't G510n print photos with premium photo paper

I just received the G510n Wireless for Christmas. I tried printing a Photo on Premium Photo Paper and it does not come out. I can't find Photo Ink for this printer. Doesn't this printer have the capability to print Photos on Photo Paper?

Yes your printer does have the capability to print photos on photo paper.
I'm not sure what operating system you are using but here is a link that shows how to print using photo paper in Mac OS 10.5 or later.
Also here is a link to your printers manual with instructions on how to print photos in windows as well.

When I make an calendar entry on my Mac (Lion) is doesn't automatically sync with my iphone or ipad. But if I make the entry on the iphone/ipad first, it will show up in my calendar on the Mac. What have I not done right?

On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect Calendars then reselect.
On both the iPhone and iPad, tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Calendars off then back on.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

Why doesn't time capsule come with AirPlay and an audio out plug? I have to buy an Airport Express station and put it right on top of my time capsule to wire it to my stereo. Doesn't make sense...

Well you can't do it with a Time Capsule.
You could get an Apple TV instead of an Air Port Express and then you can get video as well..

I have a Macbook Pro 3.1 with Mavericks Installed on it. I think either the wake on lan is causing problems because it will randomly run its fans and the sleep light will go solid. I open the lid and the screen is black on my other Macs I hit command and it wakes up. On this Macbook Pro it doesn't I have to do a hard power rest to get it to turn on. There are other times when it is still a sleep and the light is blinking that it will wake up. What can I do to fix this issue?

Most likely a bug. But you can bypass it by using any other aggregate making sure group consists of a single row and apply collect to a pivoted value. Yes, the cost is double aggregation. And also there is another cost - you would need to create MAP member function otherwise aggreations like MAX/MIN, etc. will not work:

Why Doesn't Project TV woek with IE but not Firefox? I tried the "Proxy" suggestion with no results.
