Why doesn't ELVISmx software recognize myDAQ?

Windows device manager recognizes myDAQ. Measurements and Automation as well as other NI software (e.g. ELVIS mx) does not recognize myDAQ. Have uninstalled and then reinstalled the software with no favorable results. Don't know what to try next.

Sorry to hear you are still having issues. There is a myDAQ troubleshooting device you may consider. You can see the tutorial for it as well as the download link here:

I also have a Dell Insprion 1525 and I definitely experience issues with the USB ports. Can you please try all (4?) USB ports on the PC? Addtionally, just to verify that this issue is in fact computer dependent, can you try installing your software system on another machine, perhaps a desktop, and see if you are still seeing the same behaviour?
Can you try these out for me and let me know what your results are? First, use the troubleshooting utility, then see if the myDAQ can be recognized in Measurement and Automation Explorer on another PC. I look forward to finding a solution to your issue.

Because you have a 1st generation iPad and iOS 5.1.1 is the last update for it.
It will not get any further iOS updates beyond 5.1.1

Now when i plug my ipod (6th gen) into the USB to sync with itunes it shows that it is charging ("connected - eject before disconnecting") then it ejects itself and the whole time itunes never registers my ipod. So frustrating!! I've restarted my computer many times, i've uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes many times. I've tried holding the sleep/on/off button with the volume down button to restore it then i get a message from itunes saying that it can't restore my ipod because of an error..... What can I do??? Please Help!!!!

Go to the Apple menu which appears in the upper left of the screen, then click About this Mac. Screenshot the window that pops up.
Also under the Apple menu, run Software Update. After it checks for updates, screenshot the window of available updates.

No. it is my sister in law's Macbook. I installed OSX 10.6.3, then updated software but when completed it shut down and I have not been able to restart. i have reset the pram but that's about it. I will get the install disc and try that next. Thanks. BTW .. when I try to restart it goes thru the motions, gets to a blue screen but before the desk top sets up ... it goes to black with the curser in the upper left corner ... and frozen.

Why doesn't my MBP recognize my DVI external display?

After using my MBP and 30" Dell 3008WFP monitor for about 2 years... the system quit recognizing the display.
No dropping the MBP, no software updates, no unusual activity, no cable changes... nothing. One day it works the next it doesn't.
I've read so many blogs earlier today with people fixating on cables and adapters, but I'm not sure they have much to do with this one... because nothing has changed in my experience, but the MBP no longer detects the display and the display no longer detects the MBP?
I've tried changing eerything, but no luck. Can anyone help me sort this out? Thanks in advance for your replies...

You need to set them up via 'system preferences'.
On your pop up screen go to preferences and then to print&fax
From there use the + button to add a printer of your choice...
Be aware that some printers do not have automatic drivers for mac and therefore you may need to get that from the internet... unfortunately most makers treat Windows as priority still!
I have a very expensive pair of printers in my office the B&W works and the Colour cannot use a Mac driver, go figure!

One reason may be a different computer name. Check System Preferences > Sharing and make sure your computer name has been the same through all your various OS X iterations.

Why doesn't Photoshop CS6 recognizes its Twain Driver

I've downloaded the Twain driver for Photoshop CS6 from Adobe and copied the Twain.plugin file to the Photoshop Plugin directory in Applications. I'm using a Mac with 10.6.8. I then restarted CS6 but there isn't a mention of 'Twain' in the Import menu? So also not my scanner. Which is an Epson Stylus SX130. Why not?

Why doesn't Photoshop Elements recognize my internet connection?

I've installed Elements. I had to register online because I can't sign in on my program's start up screen because photoshop says I'm not connected to the internet or that my clock is wrong. After registering online (outside the program) I told the program I'd sign in later just so I could get to the user interface. Once there, it still thinks I'm not connected to the internet, and as a result the "help" button just gives me a message that I need to be connected to the internet to use help.
But, I am connected - as I'm typing and submitting this question "online." So, any ideas what's going wrong?

Often means a problem with your anti-virus and/or firewall blocking access to Adobe servers. Some Firewall software also makes entries to your hosts file that have the same effect.
Temporarily disable your anti-virus and firewall and rename C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts to hosts.old to see if that lets the activation complete. Afterwards you can rename hosts back, and turn back on your firewall and anti-virus.
Also for activation start by right-clicking the PSE icon and selecting Run As Administrator in case there is a permissions problem.

Mac OS X - Version 10.6.8
Adobe InDesign CC - Version 9.2.2
Adobe Extension Manager CC - Version 7.3.2.39
When I try to use my Extension Manager, it's not recognizing my Adobe InDesign CC application.
When I try to install a .zxp file, I get this error: Please make sure the manifest.xml of this extension is valid and the Extension Manager recognizes at least one product which the extension supports.

Run the cleaner tool and start from scratch. This is probably some version conflict in the installer database

Why doesn't my iMac recognize my external hard drive?

I updated my imac from leopard to snow leopard to lion. I plugged in MY Book external hard drive, which had been working, but now it is not recognized. I went to the disk utility but all the First Aid buttons are greyed out and I can't do anything. I can't back it up anyplace because its not recognized. What do I do??
How do I upgrade the Firmware, which is one suggestion I read in the forum? The My Book was separated into to sections, but I also upgraded my Mac Book Pro to Lion, so it doesn't work there either. Double trouble!!

If then converting these MOV files to DV I get this response...The file could not be imported: QuickTime couldn’t parse it: -39. ?

Sarah - I haven't tried this myself, but you may be able to open the clips in QuickTime Pro then join them together as one movie. If you have Garageband, you may be able to open the combined movie in that program and then compose your music. I think Garageband Help explains how to score a movie in that program - I've not done it myself.
If you only have QuickTime Player you will need to upgrade to the Pro version. Instructions for joining movies together are included in QuickTime Help. Here is an extract:

+In QuickTime Player, choose Edit > Select All to select the entire contents of the first movie.+
+Choose Edit > Copy, then open the second movie.+

Sarah, you mentioned in your first post in this thread that you were going to use Logic, then compose. This lead me to the possibility of using Garageband after first combining the movies in QuickTime Pro. iMovie HD 6 is normally the ideal vehicle for putting together a movie and then scoring in Garageband, but as you appear to be having problems with iMovie perhaps QuickTime Pro will do the trick!
In another post, it was mentioned that iMovie '08 could import "Photo-JPEG" files (among others). If all else fails, and if you don't already have a copy, it might be worth getting iLife '08. If you still have a copy of the original Photo-JPEG clips, iMovie '08 may solve your import problems. I will check out that other post and post the link back shortly.
