Why doesn't Firefox work with Yahoo pages?

I have Firefox 23 and just reinstalled adobe flash but most of the pages/videos that I try to open from Yahoo (i.e. news articles) won't display. Either it's a blank page or the video won't load on the page. Every other browser (Safari, Chrome) that I've tried works just fine. It would be nice if Firefox stepped up and decided to work.

The second gen iPod Touch has firmware version 2.1.1(5F138) whereas the 1st Gen only allows 2.1 (5F137). Don't know if that has anything to do with it, but it's likely.
Why doesn't Apple allow those with the Nike+iPod sports kit to use their external sensor on the 1st Gen iPod Touch?!?! I can't see why the sensor would be incompatible with the right firmware upgrade!!

Ok the only way i could read my messages in yahoo was to remove completely fire fox 8.0.1. and re-download fire fox 3.6.22, before i change back to 8 or higher, you need to work with yahoo mail, and others to fix the problem or it will happen again. sorry but your educated guesses about my current browser will not work until you fix he problem, because you want me to up date my browser, and that is my problem. you shouldn't make any guesses until you fully know what is going on. OK I read the link you posted and I tried changing dom.ipc.plugins.enabled;true and dom.ipc.plugins.java.enabled;true to false, and back to true again. Nothing changed and I could not really understand the majority of the thread you posted, I am not a coder and I have no idea what any of that stuff even is.
I don't know how to "allow the plugin container process in the firewall" I googled it but all I find is more cryptic forum threads and I have no idea what any of it means.
Am I supposed to be looking at settings in my commodo program?
I am doing my best here, and trying to solve the issue, I really appreciate all your help. It is very frustrating because I am not familiar with browser settings and technical things relating to plugin containers and out of process plugins.

Why doesn't mail work with Att Yahoo servers?

Ever since Bellsouth went to using Yahoo to handle their email it hasn't worked regularly. Now that my system is so old they are incapable of helping. They do not have any tech support for Apple products nor do they seem to care. The conversation all ways ends up that they say something is wrong with the mail program or the computer. Since i had it checked out I know that is BS.
I know there are a number of people using older Mac Mail programs with one of the At&T companies that someone must have found a solution, or not? There are pages of Mac owners complaining on the ATT site but no solutions.
Looking for someone that has succeeded in dealing with ATT and what is it?
It may be that the solution is using a different email program than Mac Mail or forwarding from a different email supplier. Any suggestions?

     Thanks to all whom replyed to my query. I have spent more time with ATT and I hired a local computer guy to help. Using you alls info and my high priced friend the email works most of the day. I have found a couple things... some say the servers are IMAP and some say they are POP. What I have had to do is have both set ups available to me to use to get and send mail. Right now the POP is working best.
     ATT will tell you either, depending on the fool you talk to. The last guy said only POP will work. The guy befoe said they were IMAP. They also like to send people to their 3rd party tech people. Unfortunately they don't know anything about macs and they won't tell you that until after you pay them. What the final say from ATT is that they only guarantee that you can get you mail via web-mail and will do little to nothing to help you othet than what is correographed on their computer screen. If that doesn't help thay basicly say tuff luck. My suggestion to all is find someone else other than ATT OR IT'S SUBS.
     Currently 2 of my three bellsouth.net emails address work a couple days at a time. One only works for 15 minutes. To get it to work you can open the Connection Doctor and run it usually once and the email will begin working again. You can access it (OS 10.8.4) by clicking on the little "triangle with exclaimation point" that comes up next to you email box name. I leave open all day to make it easier to access. It also makes the G5 work at the same time. Nor because they are connected but because the problem is with Yahoo-ATT.
     Current POP settings are:
                                    inbound.att.net     port 110 with SSL and password authentication
                                    outbound.att.net   port 465 with SSL and password authentication on two of the emails
     On one of the emails I have a GoDaddy web account that uses:
                                       pop.secureserver.net default port selection with SSL and password authentication
for the out going mail server which works for the bellsouth email. Seems like it shouldn't but it does.
I also keep the IMAP settings as noted by "goodmanrc" as sometimes it works.

Why doesn't Timecapsule work with Windows 7?

I've been trying for a week and it just doesn't work. All I have is an expensive network switch not a network drive as it constantly crashes under Windows 7 and has to be unplugged and reinstalled only to crash again. I have a BT Homehub 3 and the Timecapsule does not work with it.

BT hub provides voip / phone services.. you will not be able to use any of them if you bridge it. And disabling wireless still doesn't take away double NAT if you keep the TC as router.
In fact it is harder than that. Because most ISP in the UK use pppoa authentication you cannot bridge the modem. So I am afraid you are stuck with bridging the TC or double NAT.. turning off wireless or not in the TC is no great issue.. they can work together.. simply by manually locking channels instead of auto selection.

Linksys WRT54G router--Why doesn't it work with my Macbook?

I have a perfectly functional Apple MacBook (Unibody, late 2008) running Leopard 10.5.6. I have used it to connect to public Wi-Fi but it is unable to connect to my home Linksys WRT54G router. I called Apple Tech Support, and they suggested that I change the wireless channel and/or temporarily remove the WPA encryption. I did both, the computer still could not connect. In System Preferences on the MacBook, it tells me that "AirPort does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet." The tech support guy tried to help, but in the end basically told me that the router just plain might not be compatible with Apple products. (My iPod Touch cannot connect either.)
I can buy a new router, but this one works perfectly for the rest of the computers in the house (PCs) and they're expensive--and there's no guarantee that those will work either.
So: Does anyone know any solutions short of buying a new router that would make my Linksys compatible with my Macbook AND our home PCs? Or, failing that, a good, WPA-encrypted router that WILL work with both?
I have a Snow Leopard disk (I just received the computer on Thursday). Would upgrading to Snow Leopard be of any help? I'm planning on doing it anyway one of these days.

You are in the wrong forum but I'll try and help anyway. That model of Linksys router has a long history of not getting along with Apple products. That is not to say it will never work, but it does require that you download and install the latest firmware for the exact model of router that you have. There are multiple sub-models of that router so make sure that you get the right one.
Once you have done the firmware update, restart your router and try it again. WPA-psk should work but for troubleshooting purposes, turn off encryption and see if you can get your MacBook and touch working. You might want to use WPA2-psk instead of WPA.
I would hold off on Snow Leopard until you get WiFi working. Nothing like changing to too many things at one time to really mess things up.

Why doesn't firefox interface with egames when it did before this update?

Before updating Firefox 4.0, I was able to receive, download and play games from egame.com. Now I am having problems with doing this. Will this problem be fixed soon or can I delete 4.0 and go back to the earlier version that worked well with egames?

I love Safari...But why doesn't it work with MySpace???

For some reason MySpace is the only site I always have problems viewing images. On my home screen, 90% of my friends pictures all come as the blue box with the question mark. When I look at someone's page, almost all user pictures are blue boxes with question marks. Whenever I browse for users...again, almost every single picture comes up as a blue box with a question mark!
Seriously, what gives? Every other site works perfectly and this problem with Safari and MySpace is the one thorn in otherwise superb browser.
I've tried, emptying the cache, deleting cookies, clearing history...I've even Reset Safari multiple times...Still, even with the new update...Safari and MySpace images do not work!
Can someone please help me shed some light on the situation...Cause it seems not many other people are having this problem. Thanks in advance.

It probably says more about MySpace than Safari but anyway you could try the latest nightly build of Safari's Webkit web browser engine. I always use this now and find it offers greater all round performance.

In case you don't know, you just run the webkit application instead of Safari but in use it will seem no different than Safari because all you're doing is running an updated version of the rendering engine in Safari. Safari 3.1 remains untouched and you can switch back to that if you wish.

Iphone 3g - why doesn't it work?

I purchased a new pair of Nike running shoes excited to link up the sensor and get started using with my iphone 3G. However, I find out the Nike Plus only works with an iphone 3GS. I'm now going to have to return the Nike Sensor for a refund instead of having to upgrade to another Iphone model. Is there anyway around this? Why doesn't it work with the Iphone 3G? What makes the operating system in the 3GS different so it works?

I have had the problem of Yahoo! mail freezing (my computer freezing) with Firefox right after I boot up my computer and sign into my Yahoo! mail account. I have to either shut down my computer or use Control + Alt and press Delete to eventually bring up the Task Manager option. Then, once the choice for Task Manager comes up, I can click on cancel and Yahoo! mail and my computer have "un-frozen." I have followed all the recommendations for updating Firefox, clearing caches, checking if an Add-On is the problem, etc., as well as all the recommendations on Yahoo! help pages. Nothing has improved the situation to date. Firefox info says the problem is with Yahoo! Yahoo! says it is a browser problem. I just want the problem to be fixed.
