Why doesn't iTunes have Evanescence?

Hi,
Just curious but any ideas why Evanescence isn't available for purchase? I know I could always purchase it from http://www.evanescence.com/index.html but one of my relatives wanted to purchase the songs by this band but can't find them and is now annoying me about it >.>;
Wasn't it a Platinum seller 6 times?

It's true. iTunes probably wants to sell whoever they can, but they can only stock artists when they come to an agreement with their label. If the iTunes terms that all the other acts have signed to aren't acceptable to Evanescence's label, then they don't get in. It might be good to ask Evanescence what the holdup is.

  • Why doesn't itunes have an simple upload option for putting CDs and DVDs into my ipod touch library?

I have movies and CDs I don't want to have to purchase again through itunes that I would like to put on my ipod touch without a lot of complicated hassles. I don't understand why it isn't a simple point and click and it happens option on my itunes library list of options. I have four kids and a ton of work and don't have time or expertise to spend figuring out how to make that work by reading through manuals. I don't see the point in buying the same music or movies or books twice. I work in a job that allows me to listen to my ipod while I work. This is a huge perk for an otherwise tedious and boring job, but I don't have time or money to spend buying extra movies or reading a ton of technical information trying to figure this all out. If they can do all the other stuff they do with an ipod touch I don't see why this request should be a serious challenge.
I took a guess on my operating system. I don't know. Do you see the huge list of operating systems? That seems like a lot. It seems to me that everything should be compatible with everything else or people like me that expect to be able to do what other systems can do get really frustrated and irritated when we realize that we can't because capabilities and limitations where not emphasized in the advertising.

HA! I'll add it to my favorites bar... then maybe I will be able to find it again. I just hope I can remember the password and username. You know that they aren't secure unless you change them every six months. Do you realize how many different computer systems and programs I have to engage in work and for personal use?! How in the heck am I supposed to remember all my passwords and usernames?! Oh, and it's not safe to write them down... especially with a bonehead like me that has too many irons in the fire and can't remember where he put his keys!

  • Why doesn't itunes have new episodes?

This week no new episodes are coming out on iTunes and I'm so confused why this is happening, Normally I miss tv shows so I download them the next morning but none of the shows have there new episodes? Why???

Thanks for posting Sarah22. I've noticed the same problem, especially on new TV episodes that show under "Get the Latest Episodes" for today, Monday, as available, but when you click on them, you can't find the lastest episode on the list - just all the previous episodes. Both Mac and Windows versions of itunes, and not all tv shows. it's annoying; i even reinstalled itunes and same issue.
Latest episode of "Defiance" for example, shows as "The Bride Wore Black" under Monday's Latest Episodes, but when you click on it, it takes you to the actual show/season page, with a list of only all previousl episodes but not "TBWB." Thought downloading 11.0.4 was supposed to resolve these types of issues.

  • Why doesn't itunes have 320 kbps listed for ripping audio tracks from CD as one of the default options?

Now I know you can ignore the defaults and create custom settings for ripping audio from CD's, but I'm curious why the good folks at apple didn't add 320kbps as a default. I figured it would be a default option since 320 kbps seems to be the standard for good quality when it comes to CD rips.
Am I wrong here? Anyone have any ideas?

Apple hasn't stated why it's not a default option.

  • Why doesn't iTunes have Star Wars?

I just really want to watch Star Wars and I can't find it on iTunes!

Apple can only sell content that they are licensed to sell - you can try requesting that it be added, but unless the rights-holder/film studio grants Apple a license to sell the film in your country then Apple won't be able to do so : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

  • Why doesn't PS have auto-recover?

This is probably the one thing about PS that bugs the crap out of me. If Photoshop crashes while you are working something, it is lost forever. I was working on a digital painting a couple of days ago, and I went to save it, and PS crashed.
Every other program (Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc.) has an auto-save/auto-recover feature. Why doesn't PS have one? It seems silly for it not to.

This has been discussed in several other threads, so do a search. As far as I'm concerned any such request doesn't make sense given how PS currently works and how the file format is structured. There's simply no realistic and safe way to save potentially large files in a few (micro-)seconds before a crash nor would that work as an auto-backup. Too many external factors and constant disk activity would have other negative side-effects... If you get my meaning: It's one thing to save a few kilobytes from a Word document in a few blips, but a totally different one shuffling around gigabytes.

Why doesn't apple have a file of events that ties to the iCal program and the Address book file? By having that relationship it seems that you could call up all of the events tied to a customer while in the address book or likewise call up all of the events tied to a contact that was in the iCal program as a scheduled meeting. Even in the to do's you could easily look back at the events tied to an individual so as to bring yourself up to speed with what you were doing with the individual in mind.

For one thing, true call blocking (ie. where the call NEVER actually connects through to your number) can only be done by the service provider at their switches.
The best a device can do is allow the call to connect, and then use the caller ID information to compare that to a list of allowed and a list of disallowed caller IDs.  That is a feature known as blacklisting, but it is not the same as actually blocking a call completely.
So as suggested, contact your carrier and ask what they can do for you.

  • Why doesn't iTunes add protected MPEG-4 audio files to its music library?

Why doesn't iTunes add protected MPEG-4 audio files to its music library?  I copied these files to my iMac from an old PC laptop that no longer has internet access.

After downloading via iTunes, I move MP3 files from the default iTunes podcast folder to another folder (on an a external disk), I also change the name of the file and I change some MP3-tags.
You download from the iTunes store, delete the podcast, mess with it, move it around, rename it, change the tags then try to add it back to iTunes?
I want all my files in one index, the iTunes Music Library
In iTunes, right click - get info, click the Options tab and set *Media Kind:* to Music.

  • Why doesn't Apple have a insurance program to cover stolen devices

Why doesn't Apple have a insurance program to cover stolen devices?
As a apple customer I feel that is very important that we are  offered some type of insurance plan to cover our devices if it is stolen besides the AppleCare which is offered that only cover software issues. We as consumers spending hundreds to thousands of dollars on our devices and if it is stolen we are not compensated for it at all which I think is totally unfair. We the consumer put our lives and in some cases our life savings into our devices and this should be taking into consideration By implementing a  insurance plan which allows consumers to choose the type of coverage plans allows the customer to feel more secure with there purchase.

Well...   Usually the deductible is high enough to make it barely worth the claim.  Once you claim you may also find your insurance rates go up for several years.  The rule of thumb is don't claim unless you're talking at least $1000.  In that regard it could be useful if somebody offered separate insurance, though I suspect one might wonder why one was paying $50 or whatever per year for insurance on a single item versus just paying a bit more for a lower deductible on the homeowner's that would cover a host of items.
Qbangz:  I have almost always had renter's insurance or the equivalent, even when I stayed in a dorm at college.  If somebody decides not to have it then that's a personal choice, but it is available.

  • Why doesn't iPhones have go keyboard

Why doesn't iPhones have go keyboard

Unless Apple decides to incorporate it with the iPhone and other iOS devices, 3rd party apps don't have access to private iPhone API's for security and other reasons which Google is clueless about with Android. The most insecure mobile operating system by far.
Apple plans to incorporate some of that under iOS 8.

  • Why doesn't Flash have the option to publish to .flv?

Why doesn't Flash or Adobe Media Encoder have the option to publish or covert .swf to .flv?
Any suggestions on free .swf to .flv coverters?

Thanks, kowboy.  I've just seen a few of those video conversion tools that specifically advertise .swf to .flv conversion.  They may degrade the quality and make certain features not work just like when you convert to .avi.  I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with any of those tools.
I know this is a fairly odd situation.  Both myself and the other flash developer advised that they not use Flash to create 5 min plus videos and then wrap them in .flv flash players.

  • Why can't itunes have DVD extras avaliable to download??

How come on every site out there that that makes movie available to download, there are not any extras or special features that are avaliable? I don't think i am a minority out there when i say that the only reson i buy DVDs is specifically for the extras or the commentaries, other wise i would just Nextflix them. So why can't itunes make them avaliable? Like if you buy the movie then they can have the commenary build in like as dvds have them build into the audio tracks. Or maybe the other extras can be a free extra dowload avaliave to people that purchase the movie. Otherwise i'm not paying $14.00 to download a movie that does not contain the special features that the DVD would have contained.
      Mac OS X (10.4.7)

iTunes movie downloads only have what the studios allow.
I am sure that the studios make more money with DVD sales also , that could be why no extras in iTunes.
I won't download movies because of the low quality. A 2.5" screen for 2 hours, hahaha.
