Why doesn't iTunes match update?

Some songs in my iTunes library never upload to the cloud. Instead of the cloud symbol with the arrow in iTunes, there's a dotted outline of a cloud, I guess indicating it hasn't been uploaded, and I can't play the songs on other devices (other than my Macbook). I thought if I waited long enough it would eventually upload, but one of the songs has been in the library for months and never gets uploaded.
I did notice that the song is listed in my library when I search for it on my iPhone, but I can't play it.

Hi,
I suggest that you add the icloud status column to song view in your computer's iTunes library. To do this, go to menu > view > view options and tick appropriate box. This will tell you if the song has been matched, uploaded, purchased, ineligible, duplicate or waiting. If the tracks are showing as waiting try selecting update iTunes match.
If they continue to show as waiting, try deleting them but do not move to trash. If you get the pop up asking if you wish to delete from cloud, tick delete from cloud. Now readd tracks and select update iTunes match.

  • Why doesn't iTunes match work?

I just got iTunes match and it doesn't work! it uploads the songs that it can't match but it can't even match half of the songs. but thats not my main issue. the issue is the matched songs doesn't sync with the songs in iTunes as if i didn't buy the thing at all. it doesn't give me the artwork, the title (if the old one is incorrect) or any other information that should be changed. it doesn't formate it, to a better quality, as it should. Please keep in mind that these are for the matched songs. i even waited 2 days for it to finish uploading the unmatched songs thinking that it matches the songs when its done. but nothing. Please help, tell me what to do!

    Who can use iTunes Match?
Anyone with an Apple ID in the U.S and select other countries can use iTunes Match. You also need iTunes 10.5.1 or later on your Mac or PC and iOS 5.0.1 or later on your iPhone 3GS or later, iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation), or iPad.

  • Why doesn't iTunes auto update to 10.6.1?

Apple Software Update informs me of the above update and I click install.
After a while the install gives the error:
"Errors occurred while installing updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools>Download only and try installing manually".
The fact that the iTunes menu does not include "Tools" seems to escape whoever wrote the script.
Repaired Apple Software Update in Add/Remove programmes and tried again - same result.
I can only assume there is a problem with this update and do not want to try the manual option.
    Anybody else seeing this?

Seems I may have found the problem.
I looked in Services and saw that I had set Apple Mobile Device to disabled.
Reset it to manual and started it. Ran ASU again and 10.6.1 installed OK.
The reason I set Apple Mobile Device to disabled is because I DON'T HAVE AN APPLE MOBILE DEVICE!!
I don't have an iPod either but iPod service always runs on start up even though it's told not to synch with anything. iTunes Helper is another unwanted start up item but at least that can be removed.
This unwanted start up junk is a pain, that's why I stop it.
I assume other people may have done the same thing but why settings preferences should cause problems with updating I don't know.

  • Why doesn't iTunes Match doesn't show all of my songs?

Some albums in my iTunes album don't show up at all, some show up, except a couple of songs off of it, and they're songs I've listened to with Match before. It just seems random and sporadic that the songs show up gray and can't play. (Correction: If I click on the songs in gray, they do play after downloading.)

I figured it out kind of. Looks like iTunes on my laptop is doing weird things sorting my tracks. It is spltting up compilations and saying some of the songs on the album are by an unknown artist. I have re-organized my songs by the same artist and that seems to have worked but still some missing.
I am still missing a lot of album artwork though.

I have Lion on my laptop and I want to back up my calendar TO my iphone. Not the reverse. iCloud only goes from iphone to iCloud to mac not the other way. Also, why doesn't "sync" mean update most recent changes across all devices? I thought that was the point of iCloud. Any suggestions since iCloud doesn't seem to work?

It's a work computer so I wanted to save them to my iTunes so I can access from another computer.  Should I go to a home computer and just Import for best results?  If so how do I do this?  Also, why would I be synched with another library and how do I find out what this is?  Very new/green user here

  • ITunes match update not working

So iTunes Match updating stopped working a couple of days ago. I have tried all manner of troubleshooting, including deauthorizing / re-authorizing my machine, rebooting, rebooting my router, turning off and don iTunes Match, etc. The update process sto[s where iTunes is "Matching your music with songs in the iTunes Store..." and never completes. If I wait long enough, sometimes I get an error - 3231, but that doesn't always happen. I have added one song to iTunes that simply will not sync to the cloud, and as a result, I cannot get it onto my devices. I have seen some other posts on this problem recently, but nobody has answered with a fix. I think it is a bug in the iTunes app, or in the cloud service.
Anybody have any ideas on how to fix?

Same problem - gets stuck at Matching your music with songs in the iTunes Store, though I don't get any error message. This has been happening for three days - I've authorized and deauthorized, rebooted, reset PRAM, etc. Redownloaded the music and still not working.
Apple's not responding to my support ticket

I am running snow leopard 10.6.1 on my mac, why doesn't running "software update" offer to load 10.6.8?

Please take a screenshot of the following:
Go to the Apple menu which appears in the upper left of the screen, then click About this Mac. Screenshot the window that pops up.
Also under the Apple menu, run Software Update. After it checks for updates, screenshot the window of available updates.

  • I can't finish the itunes match update.

    Guys
I can't finish the itunes match update. In the step 3 the process starts again, again and nevers end. The new purchased song don't show on the list. How can a fix that problem?

Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.

  • HT204406 no itunes match update in menu bar so how do i update

no itunes match update in menu bar so how do i update

You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden, so you need to hide the Menu bar via View > Toolbars, also accessible via Firefox > Options.<br />
If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or hold down the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.<br />
Firefox 4 has two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.<br />
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu.<br />
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.<br />
    <br />
You can drag the Bookmarks menu button with the drop marker in the Customize window from the toolbar palette on a toolbar (e.g. Navigation Toolbar or Tab Bar or to the left side of the Bookmarks Menu Items).<br />
You only see the Bookmarks menu button if the menu bar is hidden.<br />
If the bookmarks toolbar is visible then the default bookmarks menu button will appear on the right hand side of the Bookmarks Toolbar as part of the Bookmarks Toolbar Items.<br />

  • Why doesn't iTunes add protected MPEG-4 audio files to its music library?

Why doesn't iTunes add protected MPEG-4 audio files to its music library?  I copied these files to my iMac from an old PC laptop that no longer has internet access.

After downloading via iTunes, I move MP3 files from the default iTunes podcast folder to another folder (on an a external disk), I also change the name of the file and I change some MP3-tags.
You download from the iTunes store, delete the podcast, mess with it, move it around, rename it, change the tags then try to add it back to iTunes?
I want all my files in one index, the iTunes Music Library
In iTunes, right click - get info, click the Options tab and set *Media Kind:* to Music.

  • HT204406 iTunes Match update does not go beyond "Collecting information" stage

My iTunes Match worked well for most of 2012 but since recently during Update process it does not go any  further " collecting information about your library" in which it may stay for hours and hours.
I have tired to sign out and sign in many times. There were at least two iTunes updates since. I have even upgraded to Windows 8.
    Would appreciate any ideas.
    Thanks!

  • ITunes Radio ~ why buy another album ever and why pay for iTunes match

With the new Radio that is coming to us in the UK sometime, can someone tell me why i would ever again subscribe to Spotify etc or why I would ever buy another album in a shop or over iTunes, or why I would ever pay for iMatch at 25 quid a year for uploading my songs i already own...?? As i understand it, all i will have to put up with is a few ads, which I an easily live with if I am not buying say 10 albums per year any more and am able to listen to whatever i like when I like...?
It is either all too good to be true or I have misunderstood some part of the sales pitches.
It seems to me that I will never buy another album

First of all, are you going to have wifi or 4g whenever you wish to listen to music for the rest of your life? If no, then that's one reason you might want to buy music.
Secondly, Like above poster said, iTunes radio doesn't give you much freedom in picking what you want to listen to.
Thirdly, even if they eventually do let you do that, a la spotify, rdio, it'll probably cost you a lot more than what you're paying for iTunes match right now.
Finally, even spotify and rdio have their limitations in what and how you can listen to your music.

  • Sync problems after iTunes Match update

iTunes Match has created an ongoing sync problem for me. If Match updates automatically based on songs I've purchased from the iTunes store, then I usually have no issues with the sync function. However, if I load a CD that is not in the Match library, or if I just manually do an update to Match, it causes my 160gb iPod to take 15-20 minutes to sync. Why is this happening?

I cannot sync my music but I get the message that it is connected but it is not recognised.
As advised on the error message I have reset the Nano and re-installed itunes with the same results.
Doublechecking. Have you tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
