Why doesn't Java3d applets work for everyone?

I have a site with java3d applets:

Quite often, the visitors to the site can't get Java3d-applets to start even if they have installed Java3d.
Eventhough they have modern PC's with new operating systems and hardware. Why does this happen? I have a detailed page with descriptions on how to install it:

but still about 1/3 of the visitors have trouble getting Java3d applets to work.
This annoys me a lot. I'm considering to start program my visuals in some other language than Java3d.
It just don't seem reliable when so many people can't get Java3d applets to work. What reasons could there be for a Java3d applet to not work eventhough Java and Java3d is installed?

Do the visitors with problems receive any specific error messages?

Your first statement explains the second statement. To use the German iTunes Store, you need to prove that you're a resident of Germany (that is required by the content owners who will not allow cross-border sales) and the only way Apple can provide such a verification is by requiring that you enter in either a German credit card or a German-purchased iTunes prepaid card. Since I presume the former is not a possibility, you'll need to do the latter if you wish to purchase content from the iTunes Store. Again, this is not Apple's choice but is forced on them by the content owners as a requirement for Apple being allowed to sell the content. The EU is working on regulations that would force the content owners to allow access pan-EU, but that's still in the works.
You do not need an iTunes Store account to activate and run your iPad, though; at least, I didn't need one for either of my two iPads. If you only want to set up an account so you can get free iPad apps, take a look here:

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is apparently critical. This seems to come and go, or only apply to App Stores in specific countries, so you may not see the option for "None" when asked for a payment type.

The download links are working for other discontinued programs like Pagemaker and GoLive but I see that this page officially made FreeHand no longer for purchase.

Nancy; THANK YOU!! OK..it still does not work but I see where there are a lot of errors. I changed the head tags and it still does not work but I would assume I can go to the site/page you sent and it analyzes webpages for errors? You can only use QuickTime Player 7 to play that 12 year old format.

That's odd. Does this mean that you want to have the request or that you can't see the photos even though you enabled it over the privacy/photos?
If you enable it - it's not necessary to get the request. If you want the request the safest way to get it back is to reset the privacy settings by going to iPad settings/General/Reset/Reset Location & Privacy

Forum search doesn't seem to work for Date Range option: 'ALL' .
For a given search criteria, I get few search results when the date range is chosen as 'last year', but for the same search criteria, when the date range is chosen as ALL, no search results are shown (not even the ones shown earlier for last year selection).

Windows Vista has a change in the kernel that causes some programs to fail to start or fail to run correctly. for example, Nortan Antivirus 07 won't run on vista without a patch because vista has what microsoft calls "a protected kernel".
These new protection features are probably to blame (I use Linux, and I liked your website).
So, you need to wait for the Java3D developers to patch the Windows version for the new vista shell.
It could take a while.
