Why doesn't Logic recognize my loop as an Apple Loop

I have challenges with getting LPX to recognize my wav > aiff file as a bona fide apple loop that I can then stretch tempos.
I have a drum brushes loop that I exported in WIN7/Audition, saved as wav and moved over the my mac. Then I dragged it into LPX, found the correct exact tempo manually (60bpm) in order to make an Apple Loop. Couldn't do it with the wav so saved it as an aiff from within LPX. LPX sees the "tempo information" (not really) and then was able to drag into Apple Loops browser, still, didn't create the tempo meta data or whatever it does to allow me to stretch it. I drag the re-indexed loop on an audio track and it's juts the same 60 bpm loop. Changing my global tempo does not alter the tempo of the loop.
Appreciate any help it getting another 10 bpm outta this thing for a project. Took forever to find a decent ballad drum with brushes!

OK that works insofar as it saves the file with no issues and I can drag into the track area (does say there is time data to import- "YES") but it doesn't change with global tempo changes.
Also maybe there is a problem with the index? I deleted the other attempts from User Loops >SingleFiles folder but LPX still is searching for the file at every index.
So two problems now:
index still looks for older files
ALU is saving but LPX not changing tempo of Apple Loop
I read the manual re: file type.
The File Type tag determines if an application treats a file as a looping or non-looping file. Looping files are matched to the project tempo and key— if the Key tag is set to a value other than None. Non-looping files are not matched to the project tempo or key. (Untagged files added to a project are treated as non-looping.)
When I choose "Looping" in ALU, it changes the sound drastically which although would give tempo stretch, is probably ties to it thinking it's 120 bpm (and not 60)?
Yet it was recorded at 60 bpm.
The catch-22 is that the ALU can't recognize my tempo and if I change it (via choosing "looping", the only way to correct the beats btw) it messes with the sound because it's twice as fast.
Otherwise, as a non-loop, I'm stuck with only 60 bpm (even though it has "time data" to import)

Since updating Apple TV I lost the usual main menu. Now I can't even see Network lists like I did before the update. The main menu show options for Computer Sharing and Settings. Apple informs me that I am connected to the Internet through built in ethernet so why doesn't a network list appear?

Are you actually connected using ethernet, if you are then you won't see a list of networks.
You clearly do have a problem, however before addressing that problem it would help if we could sort out whether you have an ethernet connection or not.

Why doesn't Adobe recognize my password on my iPad?

     Unfortunately my iPad2 went for a swim the other day and drowned----serious user error. Fortunately the user (me) had backed up the iPad on a regular basis so all data, aps and setting were recovered. The only serious glitch occured when I tried to open my books downloaded from the library using OverDrive. ADOBE popped up and asked me to enter my ID and Password. When I did, Adobe did not recognize me, declared all of my books as "Invalid Titles" and directed my to 'verify your ADOBE ID and try again.' I tapped the OK but then nothing else happened.
     Where do I go to verify? I checked in settings but couldn't find anything that looked helpful.
     Please help.....my check out itme for book 5 of Dance of Dragons expired before I could finish. . . .sooo sad. I read lots of books from the library this way and right now I am completely locked out.

I'm wondering if you did the Overdrive update that was just released before your iPad got wet? I think there may have been issues with the update and Adobe Authorization as I had the same problem. But I was getting an Adobe Authorization Error 256 message every time I tried to authorize and it was not working for 3 days. I did delete Overdrive from my iPad ( not recommended unless you have to) then reinstalled, then I synced my iPad to my computer. Still couldn't get it to authorize.
This is what I did and was able to get it working...
In settings at the top it should say Adobe Authorization, click authorize it should ask for your ID and password click authorize may take a minute, if that doesn't work I did the following.
In settings I turned off Auto play, Cellular download, automatic downloads and auto check messages. I then tapped clear deleted titles even though there weren't any, then I tapped check for messages.clicked ok when it said there were none. Then clicked Authorize, tried two times with everything off then when it didn't work I turned on all the settings I had turned off ,did the Authorization again and it worked. I was able to download the books from the library directly from my iPad.
I hope this helps, I know how frustrated I was when I couldn't get it to work!

Why doesn't Logic Pro properly export my QuickTime Movies?

I started submitting bug reports and posting to the Logic discussion forum about this six months ago. The Art of Sound suggested I post here, so here's my issue:
I never had this problem in Logic 9 and have no idea why it should be a problem now with 10.0.4 through 10.0.7. I create a ProRes QuickTime with Final Cut Pro X. I check the movie, and it's fine. I open it in LPX, import the audio (I've also tried "extracting" it). I do something simple (and not time-altering) like normalize the audio and add a limiter, then Movie/Export Audio to Movie . Not only is the audio in the new QuickTime consistently a frame or two out-of-sync with the picture, but the new movie also has some duplicate frames, making the new QuickTime longer than the original and progressivlely more out-of-sync. The duplicate frames seem to consistently start occuring about 43 seconds into each QuickTime I've tried in LPX. There is still no problem doing this same process in Logic 9, and I never had that issue doing this kind of thing with Soundtrack (sure wish they'd bring that back!). I'm using all the latest software updates on a 2012 3.4 GHz iMac w/ 16GB RAM (the most you could get at the time without a prescription).
Any ideas, anybody?

Jim, I just also tried the Export all tracks as audio files command with Normalize on, and it turns out that the separate audio files are treated as one big file as far as normalization is concerned: if the loudest file peaks at, say, -1.8 dB, all files will get 1.8 dB of gain added. They are not individually normalized, which is what the OP is after. While this "mix normalize" is handy to maintain the amplitudinal balance between the tracks (I first thought this was a bug, I now see this is probably by design), in the specific case of the OP this is not what he needs. Also the manual does not explain that this is what happens. Would have saved the OP some time if it had...
So, rbdavis, you can submit a feature request: a Normalize files individually checkbox in the Export all tracks... dialog.

Why doesn't Firefox recognize the Windows Live Mail login page as such and offer to remember the password?

For most other sites' login pages, Firefox recognizes that they are login pages and offers to remember my password. For the Windows Live Mail login page it does not.

That log in page is created via JavaScript and the Password Manager doesn't work in that case.

Help!! Why doesn't MCP recognize 16gb ram?

I recently bought 16gb ram to upgrade my MCP 13'' from early 2011, although the computer doesn't recognize ll the 16, just says 8 when i check the settings, both slots occupied with 4 instead of the actual 8. I have tried to take them out and inserting them again, no change, as well as checking the sticks so they're what they should be, 8gb. It's the Crucial 8 GB DDR3L 1333 SODIMM I've got.

Are you saying that one module is 1333 MHz and the other is 1600 MHz? If that is that is case, there would be a compatibility problem. Again I would test each 8 GB module independently.
OWC has tested 2011 MBPs with 1600 MHz RAM and found that it works with their RAM. This may or may not be the case with RAM from other vendors. Macs have a reputation of being very selective with RAM.

TS2972 My apple tv keeps telling me that my apple id can't be found or my password was incorrect. I am positive it is correct! Why doesn't it recognize my password?

My Apple TV keeps telling me that I need to enable home sharing which I have done before. However when I try to do that it says that I need to enter my Apple ID and password. Now it won't recognize my password either. It gives me a message saying the password can't be found or that the password is incorrect. I know it is correct. But I actually went online and changed it just to get things up and running again. I STILL get the same message! Any suggestions?

Yes it is. I have restored the settings twice and each time it gets stuck when it is setting the time and date. Once I set it manually I proceed to set up the home sharing but each time I put the id and password it says it can't be found or wrong password.

Why doesn't Bridge recognize the color labels I've applied to images in Lightroom?

I used to mark images yellow in LR if I needed to do further work on them in Photoshop. Once exported as jpegs, I'd open them in Bridge and sort for color labels. In the last year or so, Bridge stopped seeing those labels. It doesn't work in CS4 or CS6.

Thank you for your prompt response, Victoria! I did what you said and made the labels match. I then restarted both Bridge and LR and exported a file as a test. It didn't work. The image marked with a label in LR shows no label in Bridge. I even restarted the computer and it still doesn't work. Is there something else I can try?

Why doesn't Photoshop recognize changes made to file in Lightroom?

Hi, I am new to Lightroom and have used Photoshop for many years. I have made many adjustments to a psd file in Lightroom, made sure to save metadata to file... but when I open the file in Photoshop CS6 it reverts to the original version without the Lightroom changes. How can I get Photoshop to recognize the adjustments to the file?

Excellent... have a great day!!! As Lightroom makes non-destructive changes the only way for them to be "seen" is to create pixels to match them when the files is opened into other applications.

Why doesn't Bridge Recognize Canon G1X Raw Images even with ACR 6.6?

I got a new Canon G1X and upgraded my Adobe Camera Raw to version 6.6 which is supposed to recognize this camera.
No matter what I do, the bridge thumbnail never appears and I cannot open the files on Photoshop. I always get an error message that this camera may not be supported.
It is supported and I have upgraded the SW several times.
What gives??

That should not matter, and if so it would be solved with a firmware update by Canon
But after some research it seems you need the beta version of ACR 6.7 that does has the support for the GX1 added. The release candidate ACR 6.7 can be found on Adobe Labs:

Did you ever get an answer? I also downloaded a TV season pass but am unable to see the episodes on either ITUNES or AppleTV. I received the email notification for a new episode but it still does not download. When I go to ITUNES, I am told all episodes have been downloaded. Can anyone help?

Why doesn't siri recognize apps that it used to?

Siri is getting dumber and dumber. It no longer opens Music and says that it appears I do not have an app named music. It used to open Waze as well. Same story. Same with calculator and clock. It does open phone, mail, and iTunes Store. Why is Siri getting dumber? I reset network settings, but that didn't help.

Why doesn't Logic Pro X remember controller assignments when I switch patches?

I'm trying to work with setting up External Controller Assignments with my Akai MPK25. I'd like to have Knob 1 map to the 1st Automatic Smart Control knob I can see (like Timbre or Cutoff or whichever is leftmost) OR have Knob 1 always map to the same paramater (Timbre, Cutoff, etc).
I'm able to successfully set them up on a single patch but the moment I switch to a different patch, Logic completely forgets the assignments. And if then I switch back to the original patch, the assignments are also ost. If I toggle "Compare" in the Automatic Smart Controls window back and forth, Logic loses the assignments. But oddly, it remembers one or two (out of eight potential paramater assignments).
How do I get Logic to remember these assignments?

No, no need to chase any pur.
You can clickhold that No Output slot and assign an output.
...but for that to work you need to have chosen your audio hardware in the preferences, of course. And while you're at it, make sure you also have all Advanced Tools enabled.

Why doesn't iPad recognize the Cregle iPen?

I have been using the Cregle iPen for three weeks. In the past few days iPad displays a message that the accessory - the iPen - is not supported. Does anyone know why. Cregle has not yet responded to this question.

I have a folder of photos I have renamed.
Filename is not the same as Title.
If there is an entry in the title field already, you can change the filename forever, but you're not changing the title. To change the title you need to do that in an app that edits the metadata - like iPhoto, for instance.

Why doesn't Sonos recognize iTunes .xml file?

My iTunes path and Sonos path are identical (and therefore share the same library, which has no problems) however my iTunes playlists (.xml file) are in the exact same location but are not recognized by Sonos. Any help is appreciated!
