Why doesn't .mac email get pushed to iPhone?

So I seet up a .mac account. But the email isn't pushed to my iPhone. I only get it if I chck mail on the iPhone.
Is .mac email pushed?

I access my .Mac account on my iPhone and a free Yahoo Push IMAP account and there isn't much difference except for the .Mac account having to be checked for new messages but there have been a number of reports here indicating that Yahoo's free Push account does not always Push or work properly. In addition, Yahoo's free Push IMAP account includes advertisements with sent messages - not good.
There are a number of benefits included with a .Mac account - especially with the changes and improvements just announced so you may want to rethink using a Yahoo account instead just due to Push.

Yes, the settings are correctly set on the iphone 4s. It is a Yahoo email address. I am not using iCloud. Do you HAVE to have an icloud email account first in order for it to push automatically to other email accounts?

You don't give us anything like enough data to go on. What is your operating system? Do you have a functioning iCloud account - i.e. are you signed in in System Preferences>iCloud?
Were you originally a MobileMe subscriber? If so, did you migrate to iCloud?
Was your email still working recently? Do you get any error messages? What happens when you try to use it?
Have you been using an @icloud.com address or an @me.com address?

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Random muting of Mac sound. Why doesn't Mac adress this?

I am having a recurring problem with the sound randomly muting. In the System Preferences panel, the volume slider is grayed out and the 'mute' option is checked but also greyed out. This has been happening on and off for a while. Sometimes restarting works but not always. In googling this problem it is obvious that this has been happening to many people since at least 2008. What is going on here and why doesn't Mac fix this problem? It is a huge waste of time when working on a project to have to screw around with this.
Has anyone found a real fix other than just trying to reboot?
I am using a 27" iMac, 2.93 ghz/core i7, Mac OSX 10.7.4.

You can find out what processes are loading your system by running Application Monitor (in Launchpad > Utilities if you're running Lion or Launchpad > Other under Mountain Lion). Select "All Processes". Sort the display by CPU% (click on the label of that column). What processes show over 10% CPU?
Also, when you click on the CPU button on the lower bar, what shows as your % idle? (Mine is showing about 98% just reading and posting here.)
If no process is causing the heat, you could have a hardware problem.

Are you sending an email using a return address of, say @xxx.com" but using an outgoing server from a @yyy.com service? If so, this is known as relaying. Many servers now reject such emails, as this method is often used by spammers. Depending on your email provider, you may be able to get around that by going into the settings for that email account and finding a place where you can enter a valid @yyy.com address along with a password. (You'll have to hunt around the settings to find this, IF the account allows for that.)

Well, seems I managed to unscrew this...I deleted my iCloud mail account and reinstalled it on my phone. That got rid of the duplicate .me/.mac email accounts.

I don't know if this has changed - this was a 2011 psot after all. But I've always had a 2nd .mac email address on my iphone. Probably for at least 2 years or more as far as I can remember. I set up 2 .mac email accounts a long time back before anyone had heard of the cloud. And it's always worked fine on my iPhone 4 and then the iPhone 5.
Came across this thread - while looking at another issue. Just installed Mavericks and while it will allow me to have my 2 .mac email accounts in the email program, for some reason it's refusing to save the password for the 2nd account.

Go to the Mail/Accounts preference pane and add the account back again if it's not there. Next check the System/iCloud preference pane to make sure you have Mail checked.

Why can't I email videos taken with my iphone 4 from my Mac? It says the video is to big or long but the particular one I am trying to send is only 1 min 16 sec long. I don't remember having this problem with my 3gs. I am trying to email them with my yahoo act, and I see this very same question was asked July of 2010, but their are no replies. You must be using a gmail POP account. This type of account does not keep devices in sync. Each device retrieves emails from the server independently of other devices. If you delete on one device, that has no effect on the others.
