Why doesn't my computer remember me? I have to sign in to comcast everytime. This didn't use to happen.e

I have Comcast set as my home page. For some reason every time I open my browser now, I have to log in. After I log in I check the box that ask to be remembered, but it never does remember me. This use to work in the past. Is there a setting someplace for this?
I have Windows XP Professional.

* Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
* You need an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep that cookie, especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
* Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

You can copy iTunes purchased songs over to your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, or have you tried going to the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes and seeing if you can redownload them on your computer ?

Have you failed to maintain a backup copy?
You should never update without making sure your backup copy of your computer is up to date.
You can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod to computer: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

Why doesn't my playlist remember what's already played?

i'm sure this is a dumb question, but i'll shoot, anyway:
i use my 160GB ipod classic in my car. i have a large playlist set up (3,000+ songs). however, every time i turn off my car, change to the radio or otherwise switch from that playlist, the playlist starts again from the beginning. while it's still technically random, i often hear certain songs over and over again simply becasue the playlist doesn't "know" they've already been played.
i have it set to shuffle, which is what i want. but i would like the ipod to remember which songs in the playlist have already played. is there any way to do this?

actually, mine does do that too. i should've been more clear. i didn't mean when i turn the car off or the stereo off - i meant when i switch from ipod to radio, for instance, or switch from one playlist to another.

Why doesn't mountain lion remember my external display settings?

I'm a teacher. I have a 13" early 2011 MBP with mountain lion (10.8.1, clean install on new SSD). I have external monitors in my office and at home. I want them to be the primary when plugged in (with the menubar/dock, and the MBP LCD on the left as the secondary display). When I'm in classrooms, I want the projectors I connect to to be the secondary display (with the MBP LCD on the right as the primary with menubar and dock). Snow leopard remembered all of this for each display. Mountain lion doesn't. Projectors almost always come up mirrored even if I've connected to them before and reset it.
To make matters worse, the displays menubar option is gone in Mountain Lion. Argh........

Ok, I think I found a solution. I disabled the new clamshell mode behavior by using
sudo nvram boot-args="iog=0x0" and rebooting, make it work like snow leopard. Since, it seems to be remembering my 3 displays (classroom projector as secondary on the left, office monitor as primary on the right, and home monitor as primary on the right). The downside is if you connect everything with the lid closed and get only one display, opening the lid does nothing and there is no easy "Detect Displays". Maybe I can write an applescript to easily detect displays.

I have done everything Adobe suggests, why doesn't my computer see it?

I have downloaded and installed Adobe Flash Player at least a dozen times. It always says successful.
In Manage Add Ons, in Firefox it shows "enabled." In IE it says Flash Player isn't installed.
It isn't listed as a program on my computer.
What do I need to do?

Why doesn't my computer recognize my password

Reset my admin password and it works when I start up my computer. But when I go to install or change any settings it rejects my information. PLEASE HELP!

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that, but I still can't make any changes. Everytime I go to change a setting or install an update/new program it asks me for the Admin Name and Password. When I enter this information it asks me again and again until it presents my password hint (to the same admin password I entered). I know what I entered is correct-it is the same Admin Name and Password I use to access the computer from turning it on. I also only have one Admin. Could it be that the computer locked me out? I'm not sure how to fix this. I can't update anything and now my iTunes is out of date so I cannot access my iPhone!

Why doesn't the computer acknowledge my daughter's new ipod touch?

My daughter got a new 4th generation Ipod touch. We hooked it to her computer and the computer will not acknowledge it at all. We think it is locked or something. Any ideas?

Why doesn't New Tab command work? Or clicking + sign in tab bar?

I looked at the answer to the + sign not working. But could not understand what exactly was the solution. The File>New Tab command is the same as clicking the + sign. Neither work for me UNLESS I launch Firefox in "safe" mode (Option-click). I don't see why I have to remember Option-click every time I open Firefox.

Why doesn't Firefox allow me to open a link from an email. I'm sure it used to.

An email from superbreak comes in with two links in blue to their offers. Clicking on them has no effect. This is an example; other received emails exhibit the same problem. Is it the latest Firefox version? Very frustrating.

When I close Firefox and then try to open it, it says it is already running and I have to close it which I can't do. The only way to open it is to first restart my computer which is a pain. If I can't fix this I will use an other brouser!

I am not sure what more I can tell you. I close firefox. So when I click on the icon it should allow me to open it again but I get a message that says it is already running. Either close it out which I can't do since I already did that or restart the computer.

Try holding control, alt and delete down in succession and then a dialogue box will appear with windows task manager. Once open click on the Processes Tab and look for firefox.exe. Highlight this and then click end process. It should come up with a warning but just click Yes. This should then close firefox and allow you to reopen it from your desktop without shutting down your computer. Hope this helps.
