Why doesn't my iMac recognize Turbo Tax 2013 program?

I have installed turbo tax on this same iMac the last three years without incident, but when I tried to install 2013, the iMac does not even allow me to install it.

As I can see, TurboTax 2013 requires Mac OS X 10.6.8 with a 64-bit processor > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3696 If you have a 64-bit processor and your info is right, you have to upgrade to Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

I recently purchased a lot of new songs and downloaded the newest version of itunes. Now when i plug my ipod (6th gen) into the USB to sync with itunes it shows that it is charging ("connected - eject before disconnecting") then it ejects itself and the whole time itunes never registers my ipod. So frustrating!! I've restarted my computer many times, i've uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes many times. I've tried holding the sleep/on/off button with the volume down button to restore it then i get a message from itunes saying that it can't restore my ipod because of an error..... What can I do??? Please Help!!!!

There are many reasons for the activity light on your cable or DSL modem to be flashing. Your Mac could be checking for or downloading updates in the background. It could be checking e-mail. It could be syncing a cloud service like iCloud, Dropbox, etc.
If your Mac isn't the only thing on the network, then the light could be flashing due to some other device on the network downloading an update, syncing something, etc.
And, of course, it's always possible your network is under attack by an automated botnet or something. You'd be surprised how often a device exposed to the internet directly - as a modem like this is - will be hit with attempted attacks, in an attempt to find things that are vulnerable.

Yes, otherwise some people might have to walk up to the third floor and turn on iMac,
and then go back down to living room in order to stream form iTunes. My iMac is close,
but not in same room. There must be something I don't have set up right.

My mac wont recognize turbo tax cd to load

I purchased turbo tax and tried to load the CD and the mac tries to read the CD but then justs ejects it. Is there a fix?

Does your drive work with other discs? If this is the only one that won't play/load, then the disc may be faulty. If other discs do the same, you nay have a drive issue.
If it is just this disc (and I assume it says the version they have sent you is Mac compatible, and compatible with the version of OSX you are using), then check to see if the disc is visibly damaged or marked.
If compatible with your Mac and OSX, I would contact Intuit. The TurboTax website has a technical support section.

Can't open turbo tax 2013

Just down loaded TurboTax 2013 from CD. A window opened telling me to drag turbo tax here (applications). I did and nothing happened. Looked in applications and double clicked and go the same window telling me to drag turbo tax here.
any ideas how to open?

If you downloaded it from the Intuit site, it should work. If it does not, contact them for assistance.

I think it's a hardware incompatibility of some kind, not a software protection, because it happens with my Mac in either iMac (17" Intel CoreDuo) OS.X mode or Windows XP mode. Those CD's play well on other Windows machines. Nero Burning ROM shows that they're simply audio CD's without any extra tracks.

I have an iMac 20" 2.16 Core 2 Duo. The machine is operating fine. That's not the issue. I am trying to plug into it a 1TB Maxtor external drive that I used on my G4. The problem is the external does not show up on my iMac. I have tried using disk utility, but it doesn't see the drive. Here's the kicker. When I do System Profiler, it is seeing that the external drive is there. I have tried it through both the Maxtor's firewire and USB connections. In either connection, the System Profiler sees the drive. My question is how can I access it?
